Akorkor: Thank you so much. I will buy another one today and try all the method suggested. Phew!!!! hunniesuzie, i dont even know. What i sha know is that since i started buying from the store, when i opened and remove some to small container then cover the rest before the next day, small insect(all those invisible insect) shey na weevil dem dey call ni, go enter. @wholesomegrace, i cant put in water because its dry powder. Everything will just spoil once.
Thank you all. Kpele dear, 30k in this recession, I wanted to suggest that u do light fumigation to get rid of all insects in your house because if u don't treat the source, u will continue to encounter such problem. But since u just mentioned it is weevils, haa it's from the supermarket, no wonder u said it's cheap, abeg don't buy from there again. All their stock is infected. Dem say awoof dey purge belle this is a typical example. |

Thanks enque. Happy half birthday to your LO I quite agree with u, the 14th week is more serious, when my dd took the 6th and 10th week, I was watching out for d fever I did not see just d normal pain on the injected area, by the next day, she was fine. But this 14th week we went for last Thursday, really weighed her down, she was just cranky and moody all through till the next day with a mild fever. |

But after like 6 - 7 spoons, she started smiling and rushing it.... Lol

ftmum: Thanks sis.
I tried using that breast pump and I was able to extract some amount of milk which he took after having his bath and he slept off.
My notice: When I was using the pump, my n*ipple came out oooo which I was happy but when I finished extraction , it went in a bit.
My question: When will the n*ipple come out so well that my lo can be ale to grab?
IM SORRY FOR ASKING SO MUCH QUESTIONS.
PLEASE ANSWER A FIRST TIME MUMMY OOOOOOO.
That's progress, just keep doing it, don't stop, it will eventually come out, as a mama suggested above, when u notice the nipple is out, just put your baby to breast to suckle, let her enjoy and also feel your warmth. As a ftm, keep the questions coming, experienced mamas are here to help u. We learn everyday. |

Yesitsme: Pls don't read and pass!
Just this morning my DD refused to suckle, I had to express to give her with bottle she didn't gree and went on to use cup and spoon and she managed to finish it and since today she can't latch on...She is hungry, she grabs the breast and bottle but can't suck it. She is healthy, no symptoms whatever.I spoke with a paed and she asked me to watch closely for symptoms. It could be throat infection. She is a baby, I would have advised to use a torch to check if her tonsil is inflamed |

And when your baby is fine, I ll suggest u continue with the oil and eucalyptus oil, but this time around always rub it on your baby's feet before u wear the socks, always use it as his hair oil. Prevention is better than cure. I don't have power to treat cold and cattarh in babies, cos it can be emotional draining for mums. |

sugah: Submit your butt for 24 strokes of cane. I was expecting to see "he's 7 months old". Haba mana! Baby is JUST 3 months and you are expecting him to be sitting up already?? Abeg put that boy on his tummy so he can be strengthening his neck muscles which would help him sit up when the time comes. Babies differ, my 14weeks old baby is also eager to sit, I just propped her up with pillows, she has steady head control, she can sit unsupported for at least 15secs. If she is in sitting position and u lie her down, she will scream until I put her back to her position. As a mum I pity her so I don't over do not in order not to strain her back. Maybe she wants to follow in the foot steps of her elder siblings who started sitting at 4 months |

jazzyjazz: Please o, make Una help me torchlight this matter
Last week after my son's dedication, he started having cough, then on Wednesday night he had a temperature of 39.2. Since it was very late I used tepid water to clean him and the temperature came down. The cough persisted. On Sunday 2e took him to the hospital, they said to give antibiotics and vitamin c for 5 days. I gave the meds for 5 days but the cough and cold still no go. So I took him back
This time the doctor sent us to the lab for test, he ordered for full blood count and malaria parasite. Result came back ++ for malaria and traces of infection for the full blood count. He now placed us on another antibiotics, vitamin c, paracetamol, and coartem for the malaria
Are these drugs not too much for a 4 month old?
Secondly, I fear my son was not properly circumcised. I've been having that feeling for a while so I asked the doctor he said truly there's a little foreskin but that it's not a problem. But in still not satisfied
Please do you mamas think the circumcision should be redone? I can post pics for better judgement
Then the doctor said my son is overweight at 4 months old My son weighs 8.2kg. Is this true? Cc Realdentist Soonest Feddy27 And all mothers abeg Make all these doctors dey fear God oh, 2 bottles of antibiotics in a space of 2weeks for a 4 month old baby, even for older children it's too much, the coartem will clear the cough, cos d cough is as a result of the malaria. As for the weight, it's just baby fat that they will eventually shed off, my dd weighed 7.5 @10 weeks, I am sure when we go for her 14th week next week she will add more. As for d circumcision, it doesn't look good to me, but since he is a baby, by the time he grows up, the skin round it might adjust, that is, look well rounded and smooth, I don't know how to put it, look good in the eyes sha |

jaysmama: Mama about this rota virus vaccine your points are very valid. In fact it's not compulsory to vaccinate kids some parents in the USA don't believe in it at all. If you talk about naija government and their policies the vaccine is expensive is why it's not being given at local health centers . The government is not ready to subsidize payment for it. Vaccines are also not 100 % foolproof. My first took measles vaccine but eventually had measles but it wasn't as bad as it could have been if he had not been vaccinated. It is well may God protect our kids from sickness vaccinated or not. Yeah, if it is very important, government will at least tell us to pay for it, after all they have tried giving free vaccines all these years. In general hospitals, they don't joke with babies, our babies health comes first. Where as in private hospital it's all about business as usual. Amen to your prayer. |

semilore12: mamas please help oh...my dd who is 4 months acts like she is having stomach ache before she poos and when the poo eventually comes out, its sticky with yellow-greenish color. She is not running temperature but the "tummy-ache" like action happens even when she is feeding. Biko help oh, the sabi mamas as i be ftm. No read and pass abeg What you are eating could be a culprit, when ever I take soft drinks like coke or Fanta and when I drink tea, my 3 month old baby acts that way too. But if I don't take them for like 3-4 days ,she acts normal. I think is still the colic thing, their digestive system is immature and can not tolerate everything we consume, until they outgrow it. |
Health › Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by chychy4us: 10:09am On May 18, 2017 |
My take on rota virus vaccine, I want to believe that if it very important the government will hammer on it, that is, ensure that all babies take it, it's in their immunization cards but they don't even mention it, or tell us that we must go to private hospitals to take it.
My first daughter who is now 9, didn't take it because I gave birth to her in navy hospital, it's like a general hospital, they are very professional. And my daughter did not for once took ill or had diarrhea through out her infancy.
Then my second son who is now 6, I gave birth to him in a private hospital, he took all the vaccines including the rota virus, and he had diarrhea as a baby, I even wondered then, na wa oh, how come he is having diarrhea after the rota virus vaccines that ensures prevention of such ailment.
The baby of the house is now 13weeks who I gave birth in a general hospital, meaning no rota virus vaccine for her, unless I take her to a private hospital which I don't think I want to do.
So my advice is if you can afford it and want to do it, fine go and give your child so that your mind will be at rest. |
