Ilekokonit:
Good advice.

Education or lack of it is no guarantee of someone being nice.

In fact, I find illiterate women to be more caring and willing to stay in marriage for the long haul than educated ladies.

The only snag is that rightly or wrongly, I feel that illiterate women are more likely to be fetish than educated ones but then again not a few University "big girl aristos" have been caught with fetish objects in their possession. case in point is the Unilag girl who had a live snake under her pillow when the Army was called to chase students out of their campus hostels a few years ago.

Finding a "good" life partner seems to be a matter of luck these days but knowing what i know now, I would rather marry an illiterate than an educated woman. They are just more peace loving in my opinion.
Goodmorning all. My brother, I guess you're seeing it majorly from a guy's perspective. Besides, those qualities i listed are the ones i want in my ideal partner. Every girl has a kind of fantasy in her head about who she wants her life partner to be. So a guy doing 60% of all that is ok for me. I believe others can be improved upon with time.

I've also tried social media. Or online dating so to speak. I've had series of encounters with married men parading themselves as singles and all manners of indecent guys that I'm beginning to think of signing off online dating permanently.

Wow! What can I say? I'm really impressed with all the response I've gotten so far. Thank you all for taking time out to drop a comment. I must admit that I've learnt a lot from the constructive criticisms to the words of encouragement to the practical steps suggested by some.
As for mingling in church and meeting guys in the process...Well I've gone through that lane before and to say the truth I've been disappointed by some so-called holy brothers. So I'm afraid to toe that line again...

older than I am, taller or same height with me, has a good job. Am i asking for too much?

If that's the case explore the options of a distance relationship, turn on your fb chat and keep the convo alive with that guy who says hello all the time, if you got bbm there's likely to be that guy who wishes and long you could be his princess charming. But then again go out often, if there are a youth group where you worship join and try to be active there. And you also have to losen up more when a guy starts showing interest towards you. Luck luck to you
Thanks thanks

Tell your friends and family you're looking for a partner.

And stop emphasizing "ideal" when doing so.
I'm not complaining about a dearth of guys. I've gone on a handful of dates with a few guys just that I haven't met that person that will make my toes curl in my shoes. Someone with whom I will fit like it's meant to be.

I appreciate all the advice I have received but nobody has advised me on how to meet my ideal man. I've thought of going clubbing with friends but as I'm not used to it, I've found it hard to do. I'm a social recluse so to speak.

op, don't be desperate to get married. pls remove that mentality of you having job for your lack of suitors. with a job u have I think social media will be the best place to find a suitor. I know what am saying, pls don't look down on the power of social media and I know that u have their are lot of guys that ask u out on your social media.
sis, the truth is no man have that time to toast a lady this days. if u like trek from Kaduna to sokoto no car will stop for u, even when they stop, the arrogant one is what u see.
most gentle guys don't even have the time to woo a lady except on social media.
don't be desperate your time will come
Thanks for the above. I'm not desperate really. Just that I feel that void these days and I continually yearn for the bone of my bone. Besides, I'm closing in on thirty so I think time is going.

For God sake where did I indicate that He is a nigerian? I just reported midterm election. Let comment constructively not abusing. I dont reply please on social media particularly on nairaland but i have to reply this, not everything you abuse people on. Some may get the wrong meaning but i reported it because i follow countries that practise true democrazy.
@Op, you must think nairaland is a congregation of dimwits who don't know their left from right. In case you don't know, there's something called deductive reasoning. One doesn't need to look through a crystal ball to know that all you wanted with that topic of yours was to get attention. You have it now, celebrate your victory, get down from your high horse and stop castigating someone that was smart enough to bust your stunts.

I have a feeling Oga Dplacement is not really here to represent Nlng in the official sense. He's probably just doing us nairalanders a big favour. He also has a social life now. My thoughts anyway.

ikenna58: You wouldn't see many laughable performance from top referees like what was on display tonight...

A peculiar case was an instance where the referee looked behind him and sighted a player down on the turf... He just blew a free kick in favour of the player not knowing what led to the player laying down on the turf, or whether he just feigned injury just to get attention!

We rarely see africans holding top positions globally or getting involved in many top decision making... Most of those few who manages to get there makes a mess of the whole thing. Africans have a way of imploding and getting overwhelmed on world stage when it matters most!

@OkeyJames Africa is so backward and will continue to be until corruption, impunity and lack of respect for the rule of law is eradicated or brought to the barest minimum! More should bother u as to why after all the international assistance and foreign aid africa is still wretched and underdeveloped, and not about a correct statement I made.

@Dpress I am trying to be meticulous on the kind of response I give to u, trying not to sound insulting... But on a lighter note, it shouldn't be any business of mine if u hold me in high esteem or not, should it? And that u think u are wrong holding me in high esteem, that should be your personal problem; not mine nor anyone on this thread, shouldn't it? Don't worry bro, you have succeeded in getting the attention you so crave for! On a more lighter note, don't over shake your head so you don't develop unnecessary headache, cos you are OYO!

And yes, that algerian referee was sh1t tonight!
