okeysoninv:Governor Mba bought a lot of tractors for farming already. The next rainy season will be interesting. |
Noblechykk:Very good reply. |
nedu666:We need more hotel development for the following reasons; Tourism promotion, Employment provision Business improvement Mega city status Tax generation. |
hedonido:Those two guys are really slugging it out in a good way. |
bigpicture001:He's doing excellently right now, when it's the turn of housing, he will do something. Enugu doesn't lack housing estates. |
Bede2u: ![]() Where is that billboard "No go use vex vote incompetence " ![]() |
Mrfeel:Yes, I noticed a structure being torn down there. They may have a restructuring of the building in mind. |
slimfit1:You mean the nearby hospital renovation, he is working on that too, plus the international diagnostic centre that was built by Sullivan near Ebeano tunnel entrance, but was never used. I think he wants to equip that one now. |
Mrfeel:Yes, some works has started there already. They are currently securing the site and clearing out the inside of the mega hospital. |
The way I see it, this hotel may be opened to lodgers within a year, their speed just too much. Later I will bring us another brand new project, the brand new construction of 300 room hotel at the conference centre grounds by same governor Peter Mba. If you go there, more than 200 workers working round the clock. Heavy machinery on duty. It's not a small thing. |
More pictures, By the way, I sell lands in Enugu, buzz me for your choice plots of land from any part of Enugu. Better to buy now, before they will be calling Asokoro and Maitama prices for you ![]() 0803 335 0750

Its amazing the kind of works that can go down within a year. This governor is not waiting to be praised for the international conference centre abandoned for over 20 years, He has dived straight into the equally abandoned Hotel Presidential Enugu, which was first built by Dr. Sir M.I. Okpara around 1963. Amazing, simply breathtaking! Nipfmod Seun Mynd44

Ttalk:My brother, it still hasn't become a crime to wash and hang clothes in any market. |
A week can make a lot of difference when the contractors and supervisors are serious.

Who wants to see updates today?
|
Dronedude:I share your sentiments, I also think he is taking on too many projects at the same time. This man has about 300 smart schools going on simultaneously in every ward of the state, multiple capital city inner road repairs, all abandoned projects are being worked on now, he has already completed and commissioned the international conference centre abandoned by Chimaroke nearly 16 years ago, now doing the hotel presidential, renovating lots of abandoned state owned companies in every sector, and still doing these rural roads at th4 same time. At this point, I only hope he can sustain the tempo. |
when2:I heard they will work there, already, some building demolition is happening at a village in that Onuogba, at Ezza Onuogba area. I think the government has a plan to develop the area soon. |
VanuatuWycombe:You are very wrong Sir, the hours I have lost parking in a long hold up on this very spot in the last 8 years is more than 100 hours, Lost. Usually, in the evenings, a long flow of big trucks move from Ebonyi state to Enugu, Anambra and other states, supplying stone chippings, trucks bearing merchandise also enter from Cameroon, Cross river, Benue, Nassarawa and Benue states enter Enugu en route Onitsha from this road. Ok, now the reverse Thousands of trucks bearing merchandise from Lagos, Onitsha, Aba and Port Harcourt pass this road to Ebonyi, Cross Rivers all the way to Cameroon. Its usually mad traffic. The plan for this flyover is to lift the inter state/inter country traffic up on the overpass, they should speed past, while we on the local level stay underneath, pass from Emene to Akpuoga, Obinagu, Umuode, Oruku, and to the new government priority project, the new Enugu smart city project. This flyover is very very necessary. |
femtex007:A very local market in the very outskirts of Enugu city. The market trades local goods like palm oil, fruits and vegetables, local rice and other edible foods brought in from around the neighborhood, and nearby Ebonyi state. I dont understand why people think it will have modern buildings. But notice, the few houses where people actually live are well built. The area is developing seriously. |
Kinzo0000:The governor is trying too much, on front page today, he will be doing the Ninth mile to Olo road in Ezeagu then he will be flagging off these many roads this week.
|
LegendHero:It might be the market security man, or the servants serving food on that small restaurant there. People could also bring their clothes from house to wash in a market. The whole shops around there were demolished late last year. Nobody lives in that shanty, its not even safe to trade there. The whole remaining stalls will still be demolished, this is the entrance of a very big estate development starting soon. I pass here regularly, and can go back this evening and snap the inside of those stalls. They are mostly empty. |
Ttalk:Look well, those are market stalls, not houses. |
Racoon:No, the airport is still far, up to another 3 kilometre. NNPC fence is nearby in this flyover. But the main thing is that the traffic planned to move from Emene into Akpuoga town will move right under this flyover, and into the planned Enugu smart city project, which will be located at Akpuoga, Emene, Onugba, Nchatancha, Umuode, Oruku, Amaechi Idodo and Owo towns. |
This is the newest pictures from the construction works going on at the flyover project along the Enugu - Abakaliki Federal highway project. This flyover project is located at Eke Obinagu express junction, near NNPC depot Enugu. The pace of work here is encouraging.

Implications of the dualization of the Enugu - Opi Nsukka road by Enugu state government. Yesterday, Governor Peter Mba flagged off the start of a project to dualize the single road which leads from Penoks junction in Enugu city to Opi Nsukka junction. We are going to look at the implications of this commendable project in the following passages. Economic implications. This is the most important consideration, this road is a nerve centre road, economically speaking. Nsukka zone is said to be the food basket of Enugu state, food supplies from many parts of Nsukka zone, Adani rice farms, Enugu Ezike palm oil mills, garri farms and many other fruit and vegetable products will get to Enugu central in a timely and efficient manner. The road will aid the movement of goods and services to where they could be bought for more money, stimulating the economy of Nsukka zone, and Enugu state economy as a whole. City planning implications. This project will bring some sanity in the way and manner vehicles move around Enugu city. This road we are discussing is a road that takes traffic from many parts of the country (Ebonyi, Cross River, Abia, Rivers and Akwa Ibom states) to the northern parts of Nigeria. With a dual carriage way, movement of vehicles in that axis will be quicker, smoother and easier, preventing traffic jams which was a constant in this road. Real estate development implications. This planned work will definitely bring in more real estate development to the affected areas. We know how the lands along Abakpa Nike to Ugwuogo Nike areas all went up in price as investors jostled for more land to develop during the administration of Sullivan Chime. We saw how estates sprang up in many of the towns along that road and building sales skyrocketed, this trend is set to increase as this road becomes wider, is used more and more business set up on the road. More private building developers will move un now to buy lands for development, because as this area becomes more accessible due to reduced traffic jams, many residents will prefer to rent houses and shops in this part of the state to live and so business. Some negative implications. Of course you have to break some eggs to make an omelette. This road we are discussing already have so much physical developments, houses, shops, filling stations, hotels, banks and even churches along the roads we are talking about. How will the people living in those houses, and doing business in those shops manage to relocate in the shortest time to give way to this commendable development. There will be building demolition, most certainly. This project was mooted in the administration of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, rumours had it that the people that owned the lands, and mainly Nike people begged the government to stop the work that would have made the road a dual carriage way, even before he built a flyover at T junction. We advice that the people affected will be given enough time to relocate, since this might affect their businesses negatively. kelechi50:When did this project start? |
Free2Fly:Its definitely Eke Obinagu junction. |
SmartPolician:I don't think so Sir. This project started this year and they are working there very fast, I will get more updated pictures of the whole works on the ground next week. |
Racoon:Yes, always very busy. This area needs a big flyover like this because it will ease the movement of people passing from Anambra, Imo and Abia through Enugu and all the way to Ebonyi, Cross River and to Cameroon. We use to suffer much traffic congestion at this spot. |
