On the opposite side of the road, this road leads to Awgu. Facing each other.

In the same rural Awgu, this is the new roads completed that leads from the PH express to Ndeagbor, Mpu, Okpanku and other villages. Roads completed last week, I suspect Ike Ekweremmadu may have a hand in this project, this road leads to his village in Mpu.

IGBOSON1: ^^^Well i'm comparing both, and my findings is that your okwute could have a done a whole lot more given the fact that it's Anambra we're talking about! It appears he only woke up in the last 2 to 3 years of his 2-term tenure! All you do is cut and past write-ups upon write-ups with hardly any empirical and verifiable facts on ground to buttress your assertions .....just smoke-and-mirrors! He tried, but could have done much more!!

There's also questions on his business dealings while governor, and he comes across as sneaky, conniving and materialistic.....someone who used his position as governor to further his business interests!

Chime is a much better administrator.......by far!
The kind of governance we need in Nigeria is the type where leaders work hard and not talk. Let your performance show itself and you can hold your peace. Chime doesn't need to say anything. We already heard and understand him.

I will return to shoprite today, people need to see heavy crowd of people fighting to pay for goods bought, and the bread lines, hundreds of people standing for hours to buy bread.

OdenigboAroli: Look,Enugu city is beautiful,no doubt about that and I am proud of the place. I also have no grudges for my Wawa brethren and will always love them. But I have problem when people try to sell lies to me. This whole debate started when people got carried away by the selected pictures Spyder were posting and called Chime the best performing governor in the east. Now,we all know thats a lie from the pit of hell and it will never stand the test of time. You guy can praise Enugu and worship Chime if you like but DONT YOU EVER FFUCKING COMPARE HIM TO A GIANT LIKE OKWUTE!
if those people thought that Sullivan Chime is the best performing governor in the east, thats their opinion and they are free to hold firm to it. If you doubt them, show your own proof in pictures.

PICTURES!

Abagworo: I'll like to know if this thread is about showcasing the beauty of Enugu city and Enugu State or about showcasing infrastructural development of Chime's administration.

Is it a thread to fight political battles or a thread to observe and comment?
They are interlinked, you cannot showcase the beauty of Enugu without showing pictures of works done to beautify the state by the state administrations. Somewhere along the lines some people thought we are giving too much credit to the government of Sullivan Chime. But he did the works and should take the praise. If they want political comments they are free but no beefing.

Someone even warned me to change the topic of the thread or he will make trouble! Can you imagine that?

OdenigboAroli: Founded many years ago, Amaku General Hospital, (now Anambra State University Teaching Hospital, Awka), gained prominence due to the expertise of most of the doctors and nurses. Their selfless services contributed immensely to the successes achieved in the hospital. But that was in the past. At a point things began to turn upside town, perhaps, due to unfavourable government policies, or rather, politicization of human lives. The basic demands of the hospital were not met; dilapidated and decayed hospital equipment was never replaced and the quality and quantity of the drugs brought to the hospital became somehow questionable. Some nurses and doctors, as their own reaction to government’s apparently callous actions, began showing lackadaisical attitude towards the affairs of the patients. Even when a medical doctor was the governor of Anambra State, the doctors went on strike after so many years of tears to draw the government’s attention which fell on deaf ears.

Of course, death rate increased and some patients who cannot afford private hospital services were left to their fate. Those who knew the hospital before now can attest to this. The hospital from 2007 or so downwards could not boast of at least one healthy structure or facility. Patients and indeed good Anambrarians let ‘wild’ their voices in plea to the government but to no avail. To be honest, the current government of Mr. Peter Obi deserves commendation, at least, for what he has achieved at the Anambra State University Teaching Hospital, Awka. It would be callous and unfair if some people stick to criticizing a government for things, issues they appear to have handled abnormally without taking time to extol same for their good works. Igbo adage favours the fact that when you commend someone for a job well done, he would be fortified with enough courage to do more!

On a recent visit to the hospital recently, Iwitnessed what could be described as one of the wonders of Anambra. A multibillion naira gigantic buildings are on ground. There are over 15 of them that are completed and others springing up. The quality of drugs sent to the hospital is sound as captured in the words of some patients I interacted with. That, notwithstanding there are still other things which need to be attended to. As at the time I visited the area, there were series of work going on. The massive compound was being beautified and trees were being planted to check erosion and as wind breakers to preserve the new structures. More importantly, the teaching hospital secured accreditation through the relentless efforts of the same man who facilitated its upgrading teaching hospital, or rather, paved way for that. The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Ezeobi Ifeanyi has equally been praised. They said the man works hard as if it is his personal hospital. However, the patients and indeed, concerned Anambrarians are in tears, not of pain or anguish, but of joy. Honesty demands that he who did well should be commended.

Ok,what were you saying about accreditation again ?
You don enter one chance...lol

OdenigboAroli: In June 2003 two midwifery educators Mrs E. N. Chiejina and Mrs. R. N. Obiezu were posted to Nkpor to get things ready/prepared for the commencement of State School of Midwifery, Nkpor.

In November, 2003 the first Batch of basic student midwives commenced their training. Then in March 2004 the training of Post Basic Midwife students also commenced. This was running con-currently with that of the basic midwifery training. The School of Midwifery at that time shared the same block with School of Nursing.

Following the directive by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria after December, 2006 accreditation visit was advised to chose one out of the two training. Post basic Midwifery was phased out.

In January 2007 the school parked into its new site built by the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi. After this, the training of only basic midwives which was allowed by NMCN commenced in March, 2007.

The School has turned out many midwives who upon completion of their training did the one year mandatory service under the Midwives Service Scheme (MSS) in many parts (LGAs) of the country.

oneeast: Spyder face reality. I do now wish to derail this thread if not I would have post the pix of spoilt bread and beverages from polo mall. The fact you may not want to face is that the mall records low patronage because there is no money in the town. I once parked inside the premises sometime last and walked over to the all saints.

I repeat nobody will leave Onitsha main market to go and buy expired and spoilt food and beverages at polo mall because of their low patronage.
if you buy shoprite bread and allow it to expire and send us the pictures, na your money.

There is a large number of serious billionaires living in Enugu and it shows everywhere.

Hotels are always fully booked, real estate booming, expensive cars everywhere. If you are not living in Enugu, you are missing a lot. I have met state government officials from neighboring states shopping in Enugu. I have pictures.

oneeast: My friend I do not have anything against Enugu state but my friend who works there has consistently told me about how bread and beverages are spoiling due to low patronage. No Anambra will leave Onitsha main market to come shop at a mall where most its goods are expired due to low patronage. The polo mall is empty week to week and I was yabbing Ibadan mall. That some other perishable goods are equally expiring every now and then. Stop showing us scanting parking lot where any passerby could just drive in and park. Chime is a huge failure who only succeeded in resurfacing few existing urban routes and nothing then empty people like you consider a big deal. I weep for you bro! grin
grin I tire for this kinda talk. Pictures could not convince you, you have never visited, and still argue without facts.

Who will not prefer to shop inside air conditioned malls than risk rain, sun and pick pockets of Onitsha market when you have better quality here grin

Do you think any passerby can park inside polo park? My friend, you don't know anything about Enugu. Stop talking what you don't know, people are laughing at you already grin

OdenigboAroli: Again, this is not Anambra vs Enugu contest, rather about the deceit that Chime is the best performing Governor in southeast. That I dont believe and I don't even believe his is the second most performing Governor.
Show me what the visionless woman oppressor did in healthcare. Stop showing me what was there before he came in.
Chime is not competing with southern governors, he has since surpassed them, he is aiming international now. Leading is not all about talking, action speaks louder than voice.

OdenigboAroli: Deliberations continues..,.Still on healthcare : Lets see what Chime did on healthcare.
After all,the thread title is "Enugu the pride of the east"....So,that status must be proven.
I dont wanna see any ffucking pictures of beautification of Enugu city. I wanna see developments covered in all sectors.
The test of every good administrator is to allocate scarce government resources to areas of most serious importance. Taking into consideration that Chimaroke Nnamani has spent massively in the previous administration in the health sector, we had on ground, a multi million naira teaching hospital equipped to handle the health challenges of the urban populace.

We are also blessed with another mega hospital in the home based UNTH Ituku/ozalla.

We have the national othopaedic hospital also in Enugu town

We have the Niger foundation hospitals (ask people about the sophistication of this hospital) last time I was there, I left the consulting room and Martin Elechi was called in to see the same doctor I saw!

Chimaroke also built a cottage hospital in all the wards and towns in Enugu state.

Sullivan just have to maintain the status we have achieved in health, he will be foolish to start building something else.

They were lying to you,
count the cars on just one side of the wheel I was riding in,
multiply it by two for the other side of the wheel,
multiply it by 4 passengers on the average for each car
multiply it by two for the shoppers that came on foot or traveled from Anambra, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi and rural Enugu.
Feeling dizzy yet? grin

On the average, there are aroung two thousand shoppers in the mall every afternoon.

3 banks, All GSM companies, choice furniture and electronics, best foreign designer clothes and watches, shoes of N100k and above, Phones and creameries, fresh choppings and lifts and escalators. I dont need to go to America to feel am in America grin
