adenjnr: yes..... i got admitted for M.Sc. and i'm talking about the visa requirement. I graduated in flying colours at the university and graduated from '' arguably'' the best university in Nigeria jez wasnt serious as a secondary school student.

Sorry, I just saw the Msc stuff in your previous post. Since you combined result to gain admission, I suggest you go with both results and their respective scratch cards explaining the reason for doing such when asked. As for stating a relative present in germany, if the relative is your sponsor, then it's inevitable you mention it but if not, there is absolutely no need to. You just have to talk about your sponsor and no one else.

adenjnr: Thanks for your response.... i av been trying to catch up with the thread and will continue to do that. is it advisable i say i av a relative in Germany? iI combine waec and neco and the requirement states waec scratch card.... wat is your advice on that?.

Are you going for Bsc or Msc because I know you simply cannot use only your O level(Waec/Neco) result to gain admission into an undergraduate course. You need at least a first year's university trasncript or A levels

researchQ: Please guys how much is e passport now? The immigration people are telling me that if I want it normal way which will be between 2 months or whenever it will cost 25 thousand but if I want it ozigbozibo sharp sharp, within a week it will cost me 28 thousand.
Also I want to register for TOEFL but Ebs Reutlingen has application deadline as 15 October. Please guys is it possible for me to get my result before then thanks

As for your first enquiry, I am not quite up to date in that area so will advise you to wait for people who are better informed on the subject to respond.
With regards to the second, you can check the official toefl website, www.ets.org/toefl, to see if there is any available test date with free space at least 11 days before the aforementioned deadline(15th October) because it takes 10 days after your exam date to be able to access your result online (which you can print and send to the school while awaiting the hard copy) and a couple of weeks to receive the hard copy.
So basically, look for a test date which falls within the month( September) to allow adequate time to receive the result and send in your complete application.

Don't sign it till you get to the embassy. It is mandatory you sign in the presence of an embassy official

Bethiano: If you come across any of my post on this thread you will know am the fellow who subscribes to cost effective ways of doing things, thus creating opportunities for prospective students who are not financially buoyant to take some measures, but benefit from the goodies germany has to offer.
The only mountain I have not been able to conquer is the issue of financial proof I.e 8040 euros or sponsor letter or scholarship.
The last option I.e the scholarship has not been explored by members of this thread, so I wonder why. The truth is; for applicants who can't provide the 1st two options, their best bet is the scholarship. Now the bigger question, how do we get scholarships.

Mind you, daad scholarships is not enough to go round. Besides the competition 'no be here ooooo'.

In all this, what is the way out for an applicant without these options. I am not of the opinion that because his or parents are not rich or thieves in the govt house, then he should dash the dreams of gaining quality education.

All am saying is , let's begin to have a conversation on how to get scholarships in germany, or other alternative means of funding other than the first two.

What if there is a means to have an arrangement with a company, willing to employ this nigerian student and he is expected to pay his bills from his wages. Meaning this letter of employment or hire stands as a financial proof. Bearing in mind that education is free and you only need to pay for living expenses.

What kind of "arrangement" are you talking about? Presenting an employment letter you know is not even genuine? Please let's desist from such and not complicate things for ourselves. The germans are no fools, are straight foward and have already clearly stated the two means of substinence. Let's not give them any cause to toughen up their rules against Nigerians as you know our reputation already precedes us. I am very sure other embassies like the Canadian,American etc, were once lenient with Nigerians and obviously had to toughen up when they noticed we abused the system. So please and please, let's not give the German's any reason to do same. If you feel u can't afford the blocked account, you can try all you can to hustle a German resident sponsor as it doesn't have to be a relative. Cheers

I would appreciate if we could find a more soothing words to express ourselves, even if we are angry by the question. "Spoon feeding" can be an insult to some people. For me, I am dead to flesh"sin" so nothing can make me angry.
Let me explain some concepts- before I found this forum, I already knew about daad because I googled a lot of schools in Germany. I used the Wikipedia to do that...because I didn't know abt daad then...u may not believe it but I searched for over 250 schools that could meet my criteria...which are...accept a GP of 3.52....accept English language only.....summer semester.....accept computer engineering....no german language needed...no tuition fee....have campus jobs n accommodation..don't require GRE...and not thru Uniassit...that is direct application...my people I couldn't find....when I found daad for international courses...none of the courses soothed my criteria perfectly except Saarland" and university of Ulm, although Ulm sent me a rejection letter that since I didn't do electrical communication they can't accept me, that I should look for a course that soothes my degree because I felt they saw my application was good...I spent 2days for their pre-application, since they asked for a brief description of all the courses I did, not just the name of the courses and I graduated since 2007. But thank God I found this forum through google too...I have really being blessed....I saw RhineWaal n Duisergburg Essen ( because they give room for language course from the scratch) not all schools that accept German Language does that...they will expect u to know at least an A1. Rhine- waal sent me a message yesterday to send a missing document to them again(positive sign for Usability Engineering...which I applied on the 8th of Aug.) I won't mind winter semester now....since my option to go for summer semester was due to the fact, that most schools have conclude for winter 2014.

For those people that still want Winter semester, pls try university of Saarland. Application closes by 15th Sep. 2014 n they have lots of English language courses...very good variety.

You are absolutely right in your assessment as I searched out those schools and every thing you said is on point. I assume you are going for communications engineering right? Because the relevant courses offered in the aforementioned Universities suit your description. You mentioned Saarland University, but didn't say if your application was accepted. Have you heard from them because I am also expecting a response from them. I will like to add that if you don't mind Winter semester, you can check University of Stuttgart, TUM and TU Daarmstadt although you may need a good TOEFL score for them . You can also check University of Magdeburg and University of Chemnist if you don't mind the eastern part of Germany.

Please house, can we just move past all these "which school is better than which" and not kill the very essence of this thread which is to adequately inform prospective students. I have immensely gained important info from this very thread as a guest but I had to come speak out because its getting out of hand. Please guys, let's move past it and continue the good work which was started.
