These are valid points you raised. I have realised that many young people are not willing to devote time and resources into doing any hard work. Many people want things to come easy without putting in any substantial work. Sadly, It does not work that way! With the advent of social media, a lot of youths spend large chunks of their days mindlessly scrolling through the pages of social media, looking for unnecessary trends to jump on. Moshybear:I fully understand that Maslow's heirachy of needs is currently fully at play in Nigeria, where the most pressing desires of the common man, is to meet primary physiological needs such as food, shelter and clothing. Only when such primary needs are met before one could begin to think about meeting secondary needs like social security and stability. While this is true, I still think these things are not mutually exclusive, and in a way, they intertwine. To earn money to buy food for instance, one way is to solve problems and charge people for solving their problems - "Cliche", you might say, but it is fact. Finding sustainable cure to malaria, trust me, is one way to hit a goldmine. The big phramas know this. |

Malaria is caused by the accumulation of certain protozoan parasites in the liver. Plasmodium falciparum is the most deadly of these parasites and is injected into the human body by female anopheles mosquitoes. While there are many types of parasites that cause malaria, P. falciparum is the most deadly. One way to eliminate this parasite is to inhibit the activity of integral enzymatic proteins in its metabolic pathway. Artemesinin, a small molecule, has been reported to be capable of inhibiting the activity of certain enzymes involved in P. falciparum’s metabolism. This is relatively well-studied. I will do some research to see many more small molecules capable of irreversibly binding to key proteins in P. falciparum’s metabolic pathways which are relevant for the growth and sustenance of the parasite. After the identification of such small molecules, I will strategically come up with ways in which such molecules can be produced, either via extraction from plant producers or via recombination engineering using biotechnological methods. Stay tuned as we develop therapeutic solutions for the complete treatment and ultimate eradication of malaria. |

Don’t get it twisted, love is a beautiful feeling. I could argue that it is the most beautiful feeling. It eases your spirit and brings you genuine happiness. While loving someone is delightful, being loved back is priceless. Someone should tell her that I love her! |

Malaria is a deadly disease that affects millions of people in Africa and around the world. According to the World Health Organization, over 200 million cases of malaria were recorded in Africa in the year 2022, accounting for 94% of worldwide cases. In another data, Nigeria is reported to have the highest number of malaria cases in Africa. This makes malaria a serious problem for us. Several therapeutic interventions have been developed for the treatment of malaria, but the disease still persists - killing people (mostly children) in numbers. I have created this thread to document ideas (largely scientific) that can be developed for the treatment and eradication of malaria in Africa - and the world at large. Feel free to share your ideas. On my part, I will study the topic extensively, and propose sustainable and long lasting therapeutic strategies for the treatment and eradication of malaria. |

Many people jump on the thread, screaming “your love will go sour soon”, “how are you sure she feels the same way about you?”. These people - sadly - do not understand the meaning of love. I do not love her because she loves me. I do not love her because I want her to love me back. This is not a game of reciprocity. Newton’s third law, though impressive, does not apply here. “Action and reaction are equal and opposite eh?” That ends in the physics class - or could be extended to the math class, or whatever other class. However, In the “love class”, the rules are a lot different. The rules are fluid. I love her because I love her - it is that simple! If she reciprocates, that’s a plus. If she doesn’t, that’s my cross. |
