Myself and my girlfriend have been dating for almost three years that she sometimes stays in my house too. I have always had the intention of traveling abroad but i don't know how, so last year my girlfriend brought the idea of traveling and how she wants to try US study route and i encouraged her to do so. I also supported her so much with my money by helping her to pay her application fee and TOEFL exam. While doing all these, we had a conversation and she told me that if she is able to get a fully funded offer that we will be going together and I will be going with her as dependent. Now my girlfriend has gotten admission but she is yet to apply for visa and she has changed plans. She does not want me to go with her rather she is advising that I should also use the study route ifi want to travel.

Note : we had the intentions of getting married but right now she doesn't want us to get marry.

I am very livid right now.
I am writing this because of bad customer service I received.

Initially, I sent a laptop for battery replacement through someone , the engineer said it was tested and discovered the screen was bad ( it's broken screen) that that the person that brought knew about it.

Although, the laptop I gave the person had no such issues but the battery going off when there is no light/power plug connected ( e don turn desktop or TV, if you know what I mean)

The engineer pinned it on the person that brought the laptop (I said no problem, though it pained me)

I only discovered the screen issues after charging the new battery that was bought that when I saw that the screen was broke (not totally blackout).

I was surprised though because I still used the same laptop a day before it was taken for repair.

After some months, I decided to fix the laptop broken screen because the new laptop I'm using is not as powerful as the former.
So, I copied some important files from it to my hard drive before sending to them (the same engineer) to change the bad/broken screen.

Some months, after back and forth chat on the price and all, I told them to go ahead with the repair after making the payment.

Guess what, they said the laptop wasn't coming up that the motherboard is bad (in my mind, I was like not only the motherboard is bad, na the fatherboard)

So I asked the person... did they test it the system to ascertain the initial claim (broken screen) when they brought it )
They said NO, they didn't. (Oh, you didn't test it this time around)
And this time they want me to believe the system wasn't working fine too.
The system that I copied files from a day before they took it to them.

The person was telling me that they have policy that any system that stays with them for months are considered old ( In my mind, I said that sounds interesting). The Policy they didn't tell me when they collected the system because I've been in communication with them on whatsapp.

What stupid policy are you talking about here ?

What if they have removed the original motherboard from the laptop ?

Did you tell me about any policy when they brought the laptop?

They "claimed" they didn't test the laptop when the person brought it (this time around) to know if my claim (broken screen issues) but they claimed they normally test to check but this time time around.

Like I said that the screen was broke not totally blackout.


What do you think I should do to this people ?

I am writing this because the lady that spoke to me was using calm but[b] commanding[/b] tone for me on call.
That was what made me livid, this was not my fault and I don't want to pay for your mistake this time around. Since you claimed the first issue was brought the first that brought it.


If you're in my shoes (as the customer), what would you do ?
