marksonrick: It would have been better he planned towards conducting an election before the amendment. How will the governor feel if after his tenure, the president appoint caretaker governor. He should not allow bloodshed in his state.
It's quite unfortunate that young men are going to be used in causing all manner of havoc.
If his men attack the LGA chairmen and there is counter attack, then he will be destroying his state instead of building it. Your point is understandable. But do you think his candidates will win the PDP tickets over Wike's candidates in Rivers? |
Politics › Re: Police Take Over Rivers LG Secretariats Amid Tension Over Chairmen’s Tenure by Cmanforall: 11:16pm On Jun 17, 2024 |
With the tension now in Rivers, Fubara's group will lose PDP tickets to contest the Local Government elections (and he shouldn't think, for now, of using another party to win the seats). This will create more chaos in the state and he, Fubara, will most likely lose the state's politicalstructureto pro-Wike group. Of course, he should conduct the elections as soon as the tension is lesser than it is now bixton: The pro-fubara group are only fighting that the governor be allowed to appoint CTC chairmen just the way his predecessors have done.... Which is against the constitution of the country.
The 27 member SHA members before all this drama escalated had earlier informed the governor Fubara some good couple of months to conduct a LG election but the governor is adamant like all his predecessors to follow on his path of CTC.
It would be chaos for the governor if the cases at court, both of the 27 SHA members and the autonomy of the LGAC goes against him. It would be chaos for him.
PBAT is not one given to such insolence and careless stupidity and foolishness exhibited by all. |

marksonrick: Why can't the governor conduct an election, why bend on sacking the LGA chairmen?
Anyways, they should use their heads o.
Rivers always on the news. If your tenure expires, why amend the law to extend it. This is what pro-Fubara group is against. And with the situation of things now, it won't be wise to conduct a local Government election in Rivers. Imagine if Obasanjo succeeded to amend the Nigerian constitution and continued the third tenure |

The money he will spend during these procedure can be used to fix that pipe. He should fix it for his own health. OP, how much is your annual rent? Maybe your landlord doesn't have money. He is a landlord today may be from his sweats of the past, and your rents are what feeds him and his family Originalsly: You've already spoken to him. Write a statement on the situation ... attach photos if possible ... get the other tenants to sign at the bottom. Make copies ... then report to the agency responsible for Environmental Protection and the agency responsible for Disease Control. Note the names and titles of the people you spoke with and dates... have a track record of everything done to rectify the situation. Whether the agencies will take action or not should not bother you ... you are doing this for the records.
The situation you describe... the unpleasant odour is not the danger... the danger her is this can be the source of a cholera outbreak and this is difficult to control ... and does spread fast and far. This may prompt the agencies to spring into action and swoop down on the landlord to not only fix the pipe... but clean up the affected area. If they don't take action ... then the agencies can be held responsible for not preventing the outbreak. |

Samunique: In tears His career may soon be going down Iwobi's caps/career for Super Eagles may be better than his. He needs to learn somethings from Iwobi. Iwobi got a red card that saw Nigeria lose out in a match. He also performed poorly in a match in the last African Nations Cup. He did not insult anybody, even when he was bullied. Today, Iwobi still gets call-up for the Eagles. Next Super Eagles Coach may decide not to invite Osimhen again, and nothing will happen. It may even give other strikers opportunity to shine. Someone like Boniface may take over his position, and live goes on |

Appletek: 3 Internal Auditors from TUC are among those attending. The same people are fighting for minimum wage. Some union leaders are not shameful these days. Even if TUC want to attend, they should sponsor one representative for a meaningful impact, and not go through the same exxessive government funds' wastages they should be fighting against Who knows if these Union leaders don't receive cash gifts after all those governments' meetings (with Senate President, Governor's Forum, President etc.) Corruption should also be flushed out of civil service |

It is understandable to have NLC representative at ILO conference. IMO, max. Representatives sponsored by government/ministry shouldn't exceed 6. 100% sure no one declined to participate... knowing the delegation was too large. We Nigerians are often too selfish.
I can assure you that at least 4 million was budgeted for each delegate. Like 5 - 7 million. I am just being conservative.
So 1.5 - 2 billion just...wasted. Flight ticket alone will take away about 2million |
