olatade: Labour isn't asking for outrageous sums. They are simply asking for wages where people can work with dignity. You don't have a problem with a senator earning 13 million a month but raise eyebrows if a Director earns above a million a month? I like Labour's approach
Will this happen? Will it stop secretaries from 'hiding' files? Will it stop bribery in the civil service? Will teachers stop extorting their pupils/parents? If ASUU should follow suit, will it stop lecturers from extorting students?
Hope their will be a balance to people can live well in Nigeria
Glimpsetv: Just like the popular saying that there's dignity in labor, for a thief, it's not so.
In this short video, a man was caught stealing and was treated to a surprise meal. The community decided to feed the thief with fresh pepper and hot water. The thief can be seen eating the pepper and washing it down with hot water as if he were having bread and tea.
What do you think about this kind of punishment for a thief? Well served or not? Feel free to comment your thoughts below.
NairaOcean: Residents of a compound in Benin City stood their ground against police officers who arrived unexpectedly, demanding entry without prior notice. The officers, allegedly accusing the residents of involvement in cyber fraud, faced firm resistance as they attempted to conduct a search without presenting a warrant.
The occupants, however, stood their ground, questioning the legality of the raid and requesting to see a search warrant. Despite repeated demands from the police, the gate remained firmly shut, and the confrontation grew increasingly tense. Bystanders reported hearing heated exchanges between the parties, with the residents accusing the officers of violating their rights.
Illegality from the 'police' is no longer funny. They are to enforce the 'law'. Why couldn't they obtain searching warrant, if truly they want to search the apartments?
Hope when Federal government approves the minimum wage, the Labour will also ensure State government does same. Otherwise, what is the need for the state civil servants to suffer the effects of this strike that won't benefit them
Gistmedia10: Fomer Nigeria senator, Dino Melaye found himself in awe as he visited a friend's residence only to discover a pair of cheetahs prowling in the house. Dino known for his outspoken nature and vibrant personality, the Senator's reaction was nothing short of amazed as he witnessed the majestic creatures up close.
The encounter occurred during a social visit to his friend's estate, where Senator Melaye was invited for an informal gathering. Little did he expect to encounter such exotic pets, especially in the form of two cheetahs, notorious for their speed and grace in the wild.
Out of excitement, Senator Melaye exclaimed, "I have never come this close to cheetahs..." To which his friend humorously replied, "But you are from Africa." Senator Melaye, with a chuckle, added, "I only see them from afar in a zoo." His friend then remarked, "I got them all from Africa." To this, the astonished senator simply responded, "Wow!"
FEGNO: The Swiss police are very racist towards blacks. On a Swiss Air flight several years ago to Ireland, we stopped in Zurich on transit. I was singled out and led to what appeared as a toilet and my passport seized. Within minutes I noticed that every single flight that came in a few other blacks were brought in. I then stood up and demanded to know what the heck was going on. I presented them with my credentials and work details. I was let go without any explanation. That was the last I flew Swiss Air
This is not about racism. It is their policy, and they are implementing it.
Newlymarried: A Nigerian man has taken to social media to share the story of how he was arrested and detained at an airport in Switzerland for coming in with a Presentation laser pointer. Etsetowghan Andrew said he had visited the country for work and was returning home when he was asked to surrender his bagpack to be searched. He said the presentation laser pointer used to deliver slides independently by hand with MSpowerpoint was found in his bagpack.
He said he was told that it is prohibited in Switzerland and thereafter detained in a cell for two hours. He said he was held in the cell until he got a Swiss resident with a verifiable address to guarantee him before he was released.

greatseed: Why do some people choose to be behind & daft in reasoning for their corrupt nature. The world is already advancing in AI, some pple are still rejecting online documentation. They prefer to remain in the analog era. Smh
mannobi: A lot of ghost workers will reject the move by the government because online verification will expose many of them. It's like corruption has overcome us in this country.
Civil service seems to be more corrupt than the politicians.
Some civil servants recieve double salaries. Some women receive salaries with maiden name, and with their husband's surname. The unfortunate thing is that most of these people are high-ranking civil servants and Labour leaders. They usually counter any attempt to regularise the service. However, the people habe also lost some trust in the government. This could be the reason for some doubts doubts it comes to verification exercises
Let him first pay teachers of these students minimum wage
NairaOcean: Children’s Day took an emotional turn when Governor Alex Otti broke down in tears during the event's match pass. His Excellency was deeply moved by the sight of deaf and mute children participating in the parade, a moment that left a profound impact on everyone present.
The celebration began with vibrant energy as children from various schools marched in the parade, showcasing their enthusiasm and spirit. Gov Otti, the guest of honor, was visibly delighted, as each group passed by. His presence added a special touch to the festivities, and his joy was contagious.
However, as the procession continued, a group of deaf and mute children also joined the march. Their determination and unity were evident as they communicated silently, yet powerfully, through their synchronized movements. This sight struck a deep chord with Gov Otti.
Overwhelmed by the resilience and courage of these children, Gov Otti’s demeanor shifted dramatically. Tears filled his eyes as he watched them march with pride and strength, despite the challenges they face daily.
mbahdi: Mumu girls...even the ex students are just speaking up now... why haven't they speak for so long ..after agreeing to do sheet with lecturers just to pass exam cause they wouldn't read where they are busy following yahoo guys up and down....later will come accusing lecturers of rape as if it wasn't mutual forming victims... useless girls
You are bringing up another angle to this issue, which I'd reason in a bit
If the girls were raped, then it wasn't their intention to use se× for marks to pass, the lecturer is guilty of malpractice and sexual assault.
If they actually failed the exam, but decided to use se× to pass, the lecturer is also guilty of malpractice (passing a student who failed).
immortalcrown: A proper investigation should be done and anyone found guilty should be duly punished .
Suspended.
These are things ASUU should be fighting against . Not always asking for salary salary salary!!!
I can't imagine why students, particularly female students, should be tormented in a university by lecturers who should be teaching amd guiding them eith their knowledge and life experiences
The manner numbers are being used for kidnpper victims or deaths make it sound simple. 150 people simply put is like 15 10-seater buses with passengers. It is more of a convoy. Strict laws need to be passengers against Terrorists amd Bandits. Not a new national anthem
donslmnstvn: Aside from the economic hardship, why spending millions of naira to feed people who doesn't feel, care or think anything about you? Wedding is just for a day while marriage is forever. That's the wise thing to do, spend less and prepare to what is to come after the wedding
