The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, on Friday, May 18, said that nobody can cage his political career. Okorocha through a press statement by his chief press secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, said this in response to a statement credited to Imo APC stakeholders led by Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Vanguard reports. NAIJ.com gathered that Governor Okorocha said that he was caged by Araraume’s group in the office of the national chairman of APC, John Oyegun, and that of the national organising secretary, Osita Izunaso. The statement read: “The so-called Imo stakeholders can only “cage” Governor Rochas Okorocha like they have claimed in the media in the offices of the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun and the National Organising Secretary of the Party, Chief Osita Izunaso who are on vendetta mission against the governor over his innocent and patriotic stand on the issue of tenure elongation. “And in any case, only ingrates can claim caging the man God used to uplift them politically. All those in the insolvent group called coalition are all beneficiaries of Okorocha’s political successes in Imo. “If they have the capacity why are they dodging going to the field for the congresses, but they preferred making away with the sensitive materials for the congresses and going into hotels to write results. “Mind you, Governor Okorocha has never played politics with the elite in the state. And that is part of their anger. The governor’s greatest political base and asset is the grassroots, which is still intact for him. These stakeholders are deceiving themselves. They know they cannot fly. “Rochas is the biggest asset of APC in the southeast and in Imo in particular. Even today, the only person the party needs to sustain Imo as APC state and make enroute into other states in the zone is Rochas Okorocha. Take it or leave it when the chips are down, the truth will become clearer.” NAIJ.com previously reported that Senator Araraume claimed that all the people of Imo state, regardless of their political, religious, or ethnic affiliations had decided to stop Governor Okorocha from 'further destroying' the state by imposing his son-in-law as the next governor. Araraume alleged that Governor Okorocha has admitted that he is at war with the entire political class in the state. He said Okorocha has been raining abuses on every political leader of note in the state, including his predecessors, dead or alive. let's not be weary, angry or disappointed when these satanic bastards are handed over to the police instead of an instant jungle justice. instantaneous death would be better for those dudes up there than falling into the hands of the Nigerian police OC torturers. you need to see these murderers' pitiable wailings as they are dragged out of their cells by 2 am on execution day, led to the butcher bushes, made to dig their own Graves, then tones of hot leads from the AK 47 of mean looking SARS guys pumped into their naked chests. |

Without an office to work in, South Sudan's Gok State governor Madhang Majok Meen has been forced to carry out official duties under a tree. "We are all operating under the trees - the governor and the ministers," the state's Information Minister John Madol Panther told Eye Radio. "We don't have offices completely but we are now constructing (offices)." He said state ministers are forced to "walk on foot to work" due to the lack of vehicles. "Sometimes it is difficult when it rains,” Mr Meen said. This comes after images were shared on Facebook of the governor sat outdoors behind a plastic table, which had a plaque bearing his name. Gok is one of several states formed in 2015 when President Salva Kiir dissolved the country's 10 regional states and made 28 new ones. Many of the state governments were apparently left without equipment and budgets after the division. Mr Panther says the community has donated money for the governor's new office, which is expected to be completed later this year.
