SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Cocony(m): 7:37pm On Jan 10
As tensions have been doused with the dominant display and victory where the Super Eagles hunted and feasted on foxes in a cold Desert, I need our opinions on a matter.
If there was a sensor(I presume none in AFCON) linked to a watch on the referee wouldn't that Bassey's first half shot have counted as a goal cos apparently a greater percentage of the ball had crossed the line!

That was world class. Those who says he’s not world class their head no correct
Na one idiot wey be our neighbour wey say Mbeumo is World class and Osimhen is not😊😁😁😁😆😆! You have been justified Osimhen. Cap it up with a 5star performance against Morocco and 2 goals in the semis and guess what you are likely gonna do a double: MVP and Highest goal scorer most likely.

Ivory Coast all the way with an Amad Diallo goal most likely.

Believe me
Morocco is in the planning room now
They will be trying to influence CAF with referee decisions, etc
Your guess is as good as mine. My mind tells me that Chelle and our boys will come up with a new strategy: Take shots from outside the opponents 18, Try a lot of leg ball to hand skills on the Morrocan defence, exploit a weak link in their defence like Zerrouki was for the Algerians, Have a joker sub or starter in the attack or midfield to force the Moroccans into confusion, improve on our final delivery from crosses and freekicks and hopefully we should be in the finals.

I am so impressed with Osayi today
So he can play like this
His best game for Nigeria
For me; a MOTM display. Asides, technically he was our best both defending and attacking. It was no mean feat commiting 3 different Algerians into getting yellow cards. Nlce one Osayi.

Sentiment aside, if we somehow come out victorious against Algeria; am not sure we have a chance against Morocco. Those boys play Europe standard soccer. They have a very balanced Defense and Midfield. Their attack may not be as potent as ours. But you see their Defense, they're too pacy! Watch how they closed down Mbuemo in many occasions. Moroccans are very fast. I think it's the only advantage they would have against the Super Eagles. Our backline aren't pacy. Our defensive Midfielder (Ndidi, Onyedika) are both slow.

If we can match them pace for pace, spirit for spirit; then we may have a chance even with biased officiating and crowd influence.

For now, let's cancel Algeria first. I'm only wary of their Midfield and that their number 11 weh deh run like Benz.
Moroccans are good but we match them in all quarters. Barring poor officiating when we beat Algeria and happen to meet Morocco, they will lose in front of their home fans.

Nigeria 4: 1 Algeria

May even be 5:1
It looks like 4:1 or 3:0 but don't be surprised if bad officiating prunes our goals down to 2:1 or 1:0 still in our favour.

On point provided Nigeria and Cote D'Ivoire hopefully dispatch their North African opponents and if Cameroun beats Morocco today. If Morocco defeats Cameroun it might look like Morocco's trophy in the making.

I hope with the Armada in our artillery we should be able to devour the Algerians Foxes by 3:0 or 4:1 scoreline. Something tells me the refereeing and VAR might not be too notch as per disallowing our goals hence we might settle for a 2:1 victory in our favour tomorrow.

Akinsanmiro be like Ronaldo de Lima of Brazil squad of US 94..Akin and Nnadi presence made Iwobi to up his game or else those boys go be like Frederick Benjamin.
That is Overhyping at its premium.
Ronaldo de Lima was already a World Club winner with Sao Paulo before heading to USA 94.

I wouldn't be able to watch the final if we have to meet CIV again because I'm very convinced we'd be meeting either them or Egypt
If and when we get to the Finals God willing I foresee a Mali or Cote D'Ivoire as opponent.
However, if Morocco triumphs over Cameroun, I keep my fingers crossed because of possible bad officiating in their subsequent games.

I don dey tire...before this tournament asked them if they are so sure of our goals rate now, even Yekini,Finidi,Amuneke,Amokachie,Oliseh and Siasia era we don't have this going to quarter final.
Please sing it louder in Baritone voice to the hearing of the 1994 set. Records are meant to be broken and if they can do it enroute winning the AFCON, they would have placated us for the seeming absence from next year's World Cup. We can start hoping to rebuild firmly for 2030 as well as 2028 Male Olympics football.

I watched the games from both groups. Equatorial Guinea have been godawful this tournament. Same with Sudan, they only really turned up in the game against Senegal but that was like for the first 10 minutes only before Senegal started pressing oil from their head. I'll give you Burkina Faso only. But even that Burkina Faso, see how they struggled to beat them.

Tanzania on the other hand have exceeded expectations. When we struggled to edge them 2-1, I thought it was a fluke, but after watching them against Tunisia and Morocco, I have to say they really outdid themselves in this tournament. They almost upset Morocco. Tunisia was flying high until we met them. People forget how easily they dominated Uganda in their first game. As for Uganda, they were poor, I agree, but more like Sudan. Not as disappointing as Eq. Guinea.
Excellent.
