That has always been my major concern ever since. Especially that benteke goal was the most annoying. Benteke would have finished a can of pepsi before hitting that ball. For those who followed chelsea of the terry/carvalho era, they would n't like to watch such moment. Lampard's facial expression said it all. I saw these sluggishness in the defence line in preseason and knew we are in for it. If you like bring 3 mechanics into the midfield, once the defenders are not doing their jobs the ball will always find its way into the net. I saw emenalo shaking his head on the bench too. All of them including mourinho should be fired.

In the last two minutes of the game, the ball fell to Zouma inside the box with only one Stoke player marking him. Ivanovic, Azpi even Cahill would have attempted to create space and take the shot. Zouma passed the ball back out of the box.

Defensively, Zouma wasn't much better at RB either. Walters continued to breakaway in the right and cut in to shoot time and time again, and Arnautovic had the beating of Zouma all night long.

Regardless of what anybody here says, the team plays a lot better with Oscar in it. He was pressing high up, making tackles and creating space with his movement off the ball for Hazard to exploit.

It's not a coincidence that Hazard looked close to the man he was last term -although I thought his best work came when Stoke were already a man down. If he had scored his pen, Hazards confidence would have gotten a much needed boost. I just hope that the coaching staff can encourage him before the weekend.
