ZUBY77: Dear Sir Alex...
I heard and read the news of your retirement this morning. I recieved the news with mixed feelings. I agree that your retirement is long overdue but it is almost sad to see you leave a club you nurtured into a formidable force in World football.
You did not just bought and raised the likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Wayne Rooney, Rio 5, Van Nielstroy and Peter Schmeikel, you also Bought and Raised the like of Me, my friends and many millions of Manchester United fans who started supporting The club right from the year you took over in the middle of 80s. shocked grin

You won everything there is to be won starting from the lowly community shield to the Uefa Champions leauge and World club cup..
We know that a day like this will surely come yet it feels like we are not prepared to accept it.
While we celebrate your time and plan to bid you farewell, please there is something we would like you to do for us.
Please help us get a good and informed successor who will replace you. Our reasons ranges from the noises of our 'noisy neigbours' to the aggressions of our London rivals.

You are wicked small since you masterminded the sacking(from one club) of:
Jose mourinho
Guus hidink
Carlo ancelloti
Andre villas boas
Roberto di mateo
Avram Grant..
Felipe Scolari and soon to be sacked
Rafael Benitez.

There is a club called Arsenal who claims that they play good football but hardly win anything. We are not worried about them.
We are more worried about a certain London club owned by a Russian defector who buys whoever he wants and fires whoever his girlfriend dislikes.
This club is known as the blues. Their fans here in continental Africa especially in Nigeria, are very aggressive, rude and mouthy.
Unlike the Man United fans who are mostly Lawyers, Doctors, Bankers and Teachers, The chelsea fans cut across many professions such as Barbers, vulcernizers, barrow pushers, Okadas etc. shocked grin (You wicked no bi small!) grin You can imagine the behaviour of the above mentioned professions.

Please Sir Alex, we will need a final advice on how to live side by side with Chelsea fans. grin We couldn't achieve that on our own especially in places like Ajegunle, Okpoko, Orile, Ojo etc. tongue grin
We were able to manage in Places like Victoria Island, zoo estate and Lekki and Ikoyi because they hardly live in such places.
Even if it means buying Muorinho for Man U, do it.
Thanks.
Yours Zubby, on behalf of Nigerian Assoc. Of Man U fans.
See the aftermath... grin tongue grin

Bolt: I told Balotelli to move to England

The world's fastest man says that he urged the Italy international to go back to the Premier League just before the forward left AC Milan for Liverpool.

Sprinter Usain Bolt has claimed that he played a part in Mario Balotelli 's decision to return to England.

The former Manchester City striker left AC Milan for Liverpool just before the close of this summer's transfer window, admitting that he felt he had made a mistake ever leaving the Premier League.

Bolt, who is one of Manchester United's most famous fans, has now revealed that he influenced Balotelli's thinking.

"We were speaking the other day and I told him that England is the best place to play football," the world's fastest man told ESPN .

"For me, as long as he makes a couple of errors when he plays against United, everyone will be happy!"

Meanwhile, Bolt believes that United's new boss, Louis van Gaal, deserves time to turn the Old Trafford outfit around, after a poor start to the 2014-15 season.

"It will be difficult for the team to adopt to the new system but with time everything will get better," the Jamaican insisted.

"Manchester United must get back among the top four. Although they won't win the league, they must return to the Champions League.

"Then, next season we will be good enough to go for the title."

On Real Madrid's departures and signings
CR7: "Perhaps I wouldn't have done it like this"

Cristiano Ronaldo bit his tongue on being asked about the changes in the Real Madrid squad which won the Décima, though he let it be seen that he is not entirely happy: "I have a very definite opinion, but I am not always allowed to say what I think. Otherwise, tomorrow I'd be on the front pages of all the papers and I don't want that", he said.

"If I were in charge, perhaps I wouldn't have done it like this. But if the President thinks that the best thing for the team is to sign the players he signed, and let others leave, then his decisions must be respected and supported", he said, during an event held at the Jarama motor racing circuit by the watch company Tag Heuer.

He admitted that with the new players, Real Madrid's style of play will change. "With the new players, our style is going to change, but it might change for the better or for the worse. Let's hope it will be for the better because they are top quality players. What usually happens is that they adapt well. Di María and Xabi Alonso were very important to us, but they aren't here anymore and we have to be happy with the newcomers. I'm sure that things will go well for us".

Of his injury, he said that he expects to recover completely during the international break. "I am doing very specific exercises. Yesterday I started running again. I'm sure that in a week I'll be back to one hundred per cent", he said.

Asked about the signing of Javier 'Chicharito' Hernández, he said he hopes he will bring a lot to the squad: "One more player to help the team. I wish him great success and that he will be a big help to us".

Finally, he was asked about the 4-2 defeat in the league at Real Sociedad. "It was a very strange game; we were winning 2-0 after 15 minutes and all was going well, and then everything changed. We have to learn from it not to assume that a game is in the bag, and that you have to keep battling right through to the finish. We were not playing like a serious side at the end, and we paid for that".

Luis Suárez gives Steven Gerrard a Barça shirt

Barça's new striker presented his ex-captain with a Barça shirt

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has never hidden his admiration for Luis Suarez, who played with him for four years at Anfield. When the Uruguayan moved to Barça, Gerard posted a picture and today of the two celebrating a goal on his Instagram account, with the message: “it’s been a pleasure to play with a talent like Luis Suárez”.

Suarez visited the Liverpool training ground of Melwood today and showed his gratitude to Gerard by presenting him with a signed Barça shirt which Gerard posted a photo of on Instagram: "He’s back bringing presents” wrote Gerard, “best wishes to a phenomenal player”

Mcleo007: I saw him last night and he was still the same sluggish player, not like I expected him to earn pace over night tho, but he exuded confidence and a good reading of the game. Good to see his commitment level; dude played like his life depended on the game.

Mathieu was a beast last night night. He bullied the Villa players all evening. Doing justice to the amount paid for his service.

Messi na Oga kpatapkata.. I'm short of words/superlatives for him.

Xavi, a spent force? I think gradually, his time comes to a tail end, better to leave when the ovation is loudest. The midfield crumbled the moment he got on.

Rafinha keeps showing so much promise. His calmness and poise on/off the ball is top rate.

I didn't expect for Munir to start the game yesterday. I think the coach should be cautious with his integration into the team so he doesn't crash in the long run as do many good lads his age.

In all, the team is good to win them all this season. Much of it on the coaching crew and how best they can keep the team together and stay motivated.

dmcdad: Words can't explain what Rakitić os bringing to the table in every matchday. That guy is arguably the signing of the summer. Is it just me or did anyone notice that the guy makes more tackles than Busi even. Controls the game with good forward play. Contributes in the defence and is also found in the attack even as he gives stability to the midfield. That guy is a blessing! Little wonder Lucho has entrusted alot in his care.

I didn't expect Munir to start too, but giving that Ney just got back from injury, it was understandable that he didn't start him. I wouldn't want the little ones to be rushed, so that they won't go the same path with some of our boys in the past.
