Where you could have some difficulty is in charging the battery as SLA's charging system differs from Lithium. You shouldn't have any issue so long the Lithium battery comes with BMS

going by your last sentwnce within last paragraph, bms pegs the maximum voltage going into the lithium battery at a safe 12.6v.
That makes sense because some SLA charging algorithm feeds in as high as 15V-16V into the battery and that will damage any 3S lithium.

There are li-ion batteries of that size on Jumia. I bought one to use with my rechargeable fan earlier this year for under 20k.

How will 12v li ion replace SLA in a rechargeable.
