Very sad. Instead of releasing unrepentant criminals to go deal with witnesses and officers again, upgrade their cells and protect their rights from within the prison system. This pardon looks too suspicious. I interpret the timing of the pardon and surge in "banditry" along with appearances of terrorists on media as a sign that Yekini is under presssure and about to grant amnesty to these savages. |

Almunjid: It seems that if Obi were president, he wouldn't be struggling in his role. By now, he would have transformed Nigeria into a prosperous nation akin to Dubai, right? And all his ministers would undoubtedly possess saintly qualities, competence, and be infallible. I regret to inform you, but I don't consider Obi a viable option. Who or what is Obi? |

Almunjid: Lol. Is the perceived inaccuracy in my argument related to the fact that Obasanjo initiated fuel subsidies and naira defense measures? Or does it concern the notion that his decisions have led to growing challenges that have weakened our economy? Buhari inherited an economy already in decline due to the effects of subsidy and naira defense, yet he continued paying subsidies and defending the naira until the country could no longer sustain it. He borrowed heavily and sold some of our crude oil in advance just to keep these policies going.
You condemn Buhari as though you would do better if given the chance. Buhari was just like you when Jonathan was president; he thought he could do better—promising one naira to one dollar and solutions to youth unemployment—until he got the opportunity, and for eight years only took the country backward. The presidency of Nigeria is like a football pitch: when you’re not playing, it’s easy to spot mistakes and criticize players for missed goals or poor passes, but once you’re on the pitch, you realize it’s as challenging for you as for anyone else. Buhari discovered this firsthand.
It’s not fair to label Tinubu as a failure like Jonathan and Buhari. Tinubu’s situation is unique and cannot be judged the same way, especially considering the poor economic state he inherited. So is his fault removing subsidy and floating the naira—policies that are good but come with their own challenges? Should he be called a failure just because the policy brings hardship? Furthermore, all the 2023 presidential aspirants, including Atiku and Obi, also planned to remove the subsidy and possibly float the naira. Lol, Are you upset simply because your preferred candidate did not lead these reforms?
Peace! Even though removal of petrol n currency subsidies was right, Tinubu failed and is failing. Umahi built seven useless flyovers in Ebonyi but is still trying to replicate that wastage with subsidy funds saved. The issue is not the advise from WB or IMF. It is a function of a weak if not dead system. It is like advising a drug addict to take up a second job to improve his pocket but retain his wasteful ways. He may die sooner. |

We sadly recall that over 17 flyovers were constructed across a State with no traffic; including two in front of his private residence in Uburu- an area with negligible vehicular activity, while pensioners went unpaid and civil servants stagnated without promotions or living wages. These were all part of Umahi's masterful schemings that lined up his pockets and left the rest of Ebonyians poorer. Excerpt number one. Wasteful, needless and highly inflated projects. |
