Marriages are hard. But celebrity marriages? They’re like performing tightrope acrobatics over a pit of snapping social media alligators. Take Regina Daniels. Married to Ned Nwoko, a man older, wealthier, and politically powerful, she became a symbol of controversy the moment she walked down the aisle. Every smile, every outing, every social media post was scrutinised. “Is she happy?” the world asks. “Is it love?” the blogs shout. Then there’s Annie Macaulay-Idibia, married to one of Nigeria’s biggest music icons, 2Baba. Despite years of love, lavish trips, and apparent loyalty, the slightest ripple of rumor is magnified into a tsunami. Every misinterpreted comment or photo sparks speculation: “She’s unhappy, she’s fighting, she might leave.” Make no mistake, she did leave. Why? Because female celebrities are never allowed privacy. The world watches, judges, and thrives on the idea that a woman—no matter how strong, smart, or successful—cannot sustain love in a world that refuses to let her exist outside of gossip. Remember Tonto Dikeh marriage? Or that of Tiwa? CONTINUE READING 👉 https://frontpagenews.ng/annie-macaulay-regina-daniels-why-female-celebrities-dont-last-long-in-marriage/

The European Commission is reportedly moving forward with plans to ban Huawei and ZTE from Europe’s telecommunications networks. This move could reshape the continent’s digital infrastructure and deepen tensions with China. According to Bloomberg, Commission Vice President Henna Virkkunen is seeking to transform the EU’s 2020 recommendation, which advised member states to avoid “high-risk vendors” in mobile infrastructure, into a binding legal requirement. If implemented, the new rule would compel all 27 EU member states to remove Huawei and ZTE equipment from their 5G and fixed-line networks, or risk legal and financial penalties. What the Ban Covers The proposed ban targets network infrastructure hardware, such as antennas, routers, and core systems that power mobile and broadband services, rather than consumer electronics like smartphones or laptops. Travelers across the United States are facing mounting uncertainty over air travel. A new directive to decrease flights at dozens of major airports took effect on Friday. This reduction is touted as a necessary solution to address air traffic safety concerns. These concerns stem from staff shortages directly linked to the record-length government shutdown. The administration of President Donald Trump mandated that airlines reduce flight capacity at 40 airports nationwide. This reduction began Friday morning with a four percent decrease, which is scheduled to gradually increase to a 10 percent cut next week. Busiest Hubs Hit by Capacity Cuts The flight reductions will directly affect some of the country’s busiest airport hubs. These locations include Atlanta, Newark, Denver, Chicago, Houston, and Los Angeles. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy defended the order during a White House news briefing. He pushed back against critics who suggested the action aimed to pressure Congress. “This isn’t about politics, it’s about assessing the data and alleviating building risk in the system,” Duffy explained....https://wapress.africa/news/flight-capacity-cut-10-across-us-due-to-shutdown-2/

After spending a full month with the iPhone 17 Pro Max, I can confidently say that Apple’s latest flagship continues to refine what makes the iPhone great, while adding a few surprises along the way. As someone who takes most of their photos across London’s green parks, historic sites, and cosy coffee shops, I’ve been putting this phone through its paces. While the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra remains my top choice for pure camera performance thanks to its 200MP main sensor and extra telephoto lens, the iPhone 17 Pro Max has earned a permanent place in my pocket. Here are five things I love about the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and two I don’t. 1. Incredible Battery Life Apple has clearly made major improvements to battery capacity in the iPhone 17 lineup. United States President Donald Trump has announced he will not participate in the upcoming G20 summit. The meeting is scheduled to be held in Johannesburg. The President stated publicly that South Africa no longer merits inclusion among the group of major world economies. Speaking at the American Business Forum in Miami on Wednesday, President Trump declared, “South Africa shouldn’t even be in the G’s anymore, because what’s happened there is bad.” He confirmed he would not represent the United States at the meeting, which is set for November 22–23. Instead, Vice President J.D. Vance will attend the gathering. Land Reform Policies Draw Harsh Criticism President Trump has been a vocal opponent of South Africa’s land reform policies. He has publicly accused the South African government of specifically targeting white farmers. Furthermore, he has charged the government with committing what he termed “massive human rights violations.” Earlier this year, the U.S. leader signed an executive order directly targeting South Africa. The order cut U.S. financial aid to the country. It also initiated a program to support the resettlement of white Afrikaners in the United States. Trump publicly described these individuals as victims of “unjust racial discrimination.”....... https://wapress.africa/world/diplomatic-snub-president-trump-to-skip-g20-summit-in-south-africa/

Nigeria’s financial markets commenced November 2025 on a negative trajectory. Both the national currency and the equities market experienced sharp declines following comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump. The President had publicly threatened potential military action against Nigeria over alleged religious persecution. Data from the central banking authority confirmed the currency’s decline. The naira, which had reached a 2025 high of (N1,421.73)/$, depreciated to (N1,436.340)/$ on Monday. This drop marked a 1.03 percent loss in value within a single day. The currency also weakened in the parallel market, trading at (N1,455)\$. This movement reflected heightened investor anxiety and increased demand pressure for foreign exchange. Geopolitical Tension Fuels Market Bearishness The sudden market deterioration followed a weekend of intense geopolitical tension. President Trump had used his social media platform to label Nigeria a “country of particular concern.” He subsequently directed the U.S. Department of War to prepare for “possible action” if the alleged killings of Christians persisted. The President described this move as a necessary response to a “Christian genocide” in Nigeria. This claim sparked widespread global debate and created uncertainty regarding the diplomatic and economic implications for Africa’s largest economy. Equities Market Suffers Setbacks The downturn quickly affected the Nigerian Exchange Limited. Bearish trading resumed on Monday, pushing the All-Share Index down by 0.25 percent to close at 153,739.11 points. This decline trimmed the market’s year-to-date gains to 49.37 percent. Consequently, market capitalization decreased by (N245.88 billion), settling at (N97.58 trillion).......SOURCE: https://wapress.africa/business/naira-and-equities-fall-after-trumps-military-threat/

Imagine running a bank meant to uplift everyday savers, only to turn it into your personal piggy bank. That’s the shocking reality for Grace Andreas Karka, the once-trusted Managing Director of Bonghe Microfinance Bank. On October 17, 2025, a courtroom in Adamawa State slammed her with a five-year prison sentence for a brazen scheme that siphoned off millions from trusting customers.
