Education / Re: Obaseki Pledges Extension Of Service Years, Forwards Harmonised Retirement Age by Collinstj07: 9:30pm On Oct 06, 2023
Aisosa25:
Obaseki pledges extension of service years, forwards Harmonised Retirement Age Bill for teachers to Edo Assembly

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has disclosed plans by his administration for the extension of the service years of teachers in the State.

To achieve this, the governor has forwarded the Harmonised Retirement Age Bill for the extension of retirement age for teachers in the State to the Edo House of Assembly (EDHA).

Obaseki revealed this when he addressed teachers at the 2023 Teachers’ Day ceremony held at the Conference Hall of Teachers House in Siluko Road, Benin City.

The bill, he said, is to harmonise the present service and retirement age of teachers, which provides for the extension of the service years from 30 to 35 years and retirement age from 60 to 65 years, noting that as soon as the House passes the bill into law his administration will commence its implementation with immediate effect.

According to him, “As per release of approval letters for a harmonised retirement age for teachers, I don't see why you should worry. I will not say something that I will not do?

“This is an issue of law. I have sent a bill to the House of Assembly to pass it into law and domesticate it and as soon as I get it from the House of Assembly, I will begin to implement it.”

The governor commended the teachers for their commitment to the education sector of the state and implementing the policies of the administration with due diligence, with special reference to the EdoBest policy, which he said has been hugely successful and acclaimed globally.

To this end, he said his administration has the interest of the teachers at heart as they have done well to develop the education sector as the foundation for the accelerated growth of the State, stressing that he would continue to do all within his powers to ensure that their welfare is placed on the first charge in the State.

The governor also promised the teachers that his administration will pay them half of their December salaries in addition to the full month's salaries, alongside the 13th month promised Edo State workers.

“Teachers say I should give them palliatives or gifts for today. I have already promised all workers in Edo State that you will get your 13th month salaries this year. What I will add as a gift to celebrate the teachers because of the World teachers’ day celebration is that, all the teachers will get an additional half a month bonus,” he said.

An election have been conducted on fair grounds just because it didn't go the way they want it they start talking and saying all sort things discriminating the good works of a governor whose has the interest of his people at heart. I urge all stakeholders, politicians to work together for the progress of Edo State.

OSSIOMO POWER PLANT: GOV OBASEKI LAYING THE FOUNDATION FOR POWERING THE EDO ECONOMY TOWARDS PROSPERITY (2a)

1. THE IDEA, THE INPUT: The role of steady power supply in promoting businesses, driving industrialization and productivity can’t be overemphasized. One of the major clog in the wheel of business growth, particularly Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is interrupted power supply. Over the years, Nigeria has been grappling with the challenges of unstable power supply. To change the narrative of poor power supply as one of the ways to create enabling environment for businesses to thrive, Governor Godwin Obaseki entered a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of 55MW with Ossiomo Power and CCETC Clean Energy to boost electricity market in the state.

2. THE OUTPUT, THE SOCIOECONOMIC IMPACTS: From drastically reducing the cost of powering government's Infrastructures– thereby freeing more funds for other critical areas–through powering Edo Production Centre
to enhance the productivity of artisans therein, to powering the Light-Up-Edo Project that encourages safe & economic night life in Benin City, it is a bumper harvest of success stories.

VOICINGOUT:
Obaseki’s House of Assembly Victory, is driving APC crazy --Efe Igbinosa

Over the last few hours, the lameduck propaganda arm of the APC has churned out several spurious news just to discredit Governor Obaseki’s HOA victory. Despite what the naysayers and the supposed political Maradona have said and done, PDP, under the leadership of Governor Obaseki is already firmly poised to take the majority seats in the house, Come May 2023.

It is this sterling record of the governor that APC are determined to darken at all cost. It is driving them crazy because it has finally put to bed the demystification of their tin god, Oshiomhole, who thought he was still popular, but never knew Edo people took him for a clown and joked with him in market places.

No matter the number of propaganda the tired and clueless APC media arm throws at us in the coming days, we would continue to use them as a ladder. Our ascendancy will never be matched by this bitter little devils.

Obaseki is on the Rise again!!!

Yes oh, Governor Obaseki remains the best performing governor. APC has no place in Edo State, he will always be in the rise in the political space.

*...We have a good story to tell.*

Our government is repositioning the school to become a world-class institution to train and prepare youths to pursue successful careers in the agriculture industry.

The new facilities include a 250 capacity lecture theatre, an administrative block, College library, academic block 1 and 2, college auditorium complex, health centre and the college main gate, amongst others.

Our government believes that if agriculture is important to us as a nation, then we must have institutions that prepare and train very capable and competent personnel, particularly middle level manpower for the agriculture industry.

What has Governor Godwin Obaseki done in Edo they ask?

We start training of 10,000 Civil and Public Servants tomorrow in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Service, Edo State.

As an Ugoneki woman who came from the private sector to join Government, one of the things that sold this role for me was the Governor’s focus on education.

Look!

Poverty is weaponised in Nigeria. When politicians keep you in the dark, they can buy your vote with only 5,000 Naira less than 10 USD every 4 years.

However, when you receive an education, you are forever free from mental slavery.

This week we will start off with an Introduction to Project Management Course, which will be brought to us by the Project Management Institute, Nigeria Chapter. Our workers are excited and so am I.

At a time when knowledgeable people can japa legally, we are upskilling and retooling our workforce. Think about the multiplier effects of this singular act.

I’m sure you understand why this is a Governor Obaseki Stan account! I admire those in the arena not critics who cannot dare where others do.

I admire visionary leaders!

"By their fruits ye shall know them".

Our lord Jesus Christ emphasized this in his teachings and this statement has cumulated into a reality and its relevance remains timeless.

Governor Nyesom Wike, who is the Executive Governor of Rivers State once had a fracas with Governor Godwin Obaseki when he ranted and raved that Obaseki is ungrateful and a serial betrayal.

At that time, a lot of Edolites especially those in the opposing APC and some disgruntled PDP party faithful who saw the Edo governor as a tight fisted dictator, where less petaled about the Edo governor's perspective of the issue. They were sentimentally and sensationally suede towards the popular side of the dance wagon.

Governor Godwin Obaseki regardless of the burning issues then of accusations and counter accusations by aggrieved loyalists, party members and fieced opposition of the APC spear headed by Adams Oshiomole remained dogged, focused and continued to forge ahead with his 'M.E.G.A.' agenda by delivering on the goods of providing both basic social amenities and an enabling environment for the greatness of Edo.

Apparently, the said Governor Wike who was then the starboy of the moment, has today shown the stuff he is made off and proved himself and were he belongs. He had no moral justification to antagonize Edo's chief executive officer and refer to him then as a serial betrayal.

Oshiomole and his APC who were both trusted with state powers and resources, ran Edo state and the nation into crisis and brutal indebtedness. They also have no moral justification to antagonize Obaseki and demand for a second chance.

Therefore, with the turnout of national political events lately, we now know who the true betrayals are, don't you?

Hence, Edo state once again is in the threshold of a nationwide political tsunami at our doorstep. who out of the both titans should we clinch to or allow to be swept away to eternity? Perhaps, who we decide will survive, shall be one that will not sacrifice the destinies of the Edos for self-aggrandizement.

Vote wisely and strategically,

Vote PDP.

Time will vindicate the governor has a true and worthy leader, who has a true vision to develop the state into a hub of development. Is my call for the Edo people to vote not only the party but the personalities that will bring absolute progress to Edo.

A massive vote for the PDP in the state house will sustain this vision and promote quality development of the agenda of the governor.

Majority Constituencies in Edo State have remained underrepresented for sometime now, because the APC permanently nurses bitterness against the Edo State Governor

Again, the APC have come to town to sell their bad, bitter and unforgiving products to Edo people

The APC has nothing to offer, order than antagonize the Edo State Governor and harass Edo people for their selfish gains

They are lions and tigers; bestial, dangerous, destructive, devilish, demonic, evil, bloodsucking and do not mean well for hardworking Edos

APC has no love for our mothers in the markets and are desperate to rip our sisters and aunties in Oba, New Benin, Ekiosa, Oliha, Uromi, Jatu, Oregbeni, Oka markets etc of their (our sisters) hard-earned resources

To have the APC in the ballot as it concerns Edo Assembly poll this Saturday is itself an aberration; however, to correct that mistake is to vehemently reject the demonic Party at the various polling units (PUs) March 11

Edo cannot afford to revert to the days of the dogs were red-eyed non-state actors bullied our brothers, raped our sisters and beat up our mothers

Through our support for the PDP this Saturday, we would have successfully reject the albatross APC from our body polity

Reject APC

1. A proclamation was issued for the House of Assembly to be inaugurated. Some members who were answerable to Oshiomhole, their godfather refused to be inaugurated simply because the godfather told them not to.

2. Governor Obaseki Inaugurated Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (ESIEC) and ESIEC brought out a time-table for the Local government election. However, legacy PDP went to court to stop the election and as we speak, the case is still in court.

3. The Airport at Auchi is still very much in view. The land has been acquired. The Location has been surveyed and the governor’s vision to see an airport in Auchi is unwavering. Recall the Gateway Agro-Cargo Airport was envisioned by former governor Gbenga Daniels, but was later commissioned by the present governor, Dapo Abiodun.

4. Edo state economy under the leadership of governor Godwin Obaseki has given jobs to well over 200,000 people. Edo state economy is bursting with innovation and entrepreneurship.

5. No government has done more to improve diaspora confidence and participation in Edo state than the government of governor Obaseki. From the comfort of their homes in the diaspora and on their phones, they can now process their CofO and be issued one within a maximum of period of three months. Since inception of the state, only 15,000 CofO has been signed but governor Obaseki alone has signed way over 20,000 CofO. That’s progress and that’s the definition of ease of doing business.

6. Edo Indigenes are carrying out projects everywhere in the state. All the complexes inside the new Nigerian Observer building, including “The Edo Creative Hub” are being built by a local engineer. Construction of schools and other big projects are also being done by local contractors as well as several others.

7. The beauty about the street lights is the sustainability of the project. No more “street light no de work o because fuel no de or diesel no de”. the street light is now being powered by Ossiomo Independent Power plant, with 24hrs uninterrupted power supply to homes and indeed, the street lights.

8. There are procedures to renting of government facilities and if anyone meets the procedures, permission to use the facilities will be granted, regardless of the personality or organization involved.

Obaseki is working. Vote PDP on the 18th of March for continuity.

During time past, Edo was caged in oppression, slavery, and torment by some group of people so called "the lions and tigers of Edo".

Edo was plagued with insecurity, has indigenes feared for their lives. Land grabbing was the order of the day in the State.

And now, with the emergence of a man, who has waged war on these person's who claimed to have the people of Edo tamed have been tamed. The man, our amiable and hard working Governor Godwin Obaseki has been working round the radar to bring freedom and to deliver the true dividends of democracy to his people.

And now, they want to take to us back to the dark ages, where thuggery, theft, slavery, was the order of the day. Should the opposition takes over the state house, their agenda will be achieved and thus, impeachment of governor will be eminent.

The Edolites are wise, intellectuals who will sustain the dividends enjoyed under the Governor Obaseki led PDP administration.

So therefore, let's us defend our freedom. Our fundamental rights has a citizen to leave in peace and harmony. To enjoy true governance, sustainable development.

Let's vote the party that has worked and still working to deliver the agenda of the government under Governor Godwin Obaseki, the umbrella party PDP.
