1bunne4lif:Why do you think corruption is more prevalent in countries with huge population? The competition for scarce resources. A politician who knows that his children will have hundreds of thousands of people to compete for a job with when they graduate will want to steal as much as possible so that even his children's children wouldn't need to seek for a job. |
casualobserver1:Both countries are overpopulated, there citizens aren't exactly living the most comfortable lives in the world. Chinese are in every corner of the world. China's population is about 7.5 times bigger than ours. They have 1.3 billion, we have 170 million |
femicyrus:You didn't remember TAN and rigging when Buhari was leading, did you? You voted 5 times for Buhari and he still lost. Shame on you. |
casualobserver1:China is 10 times bigger than Nigeria, India is about 4 times bigger. |
osystein:Japan has the human resources to manage its huge population, |
The last time I mentioned something like this on Nairaland, I was almost swallowed. There are countries as corrupt as Nigeria but they are doing far better because there is still enough left for the small population after those on top have stolen. Libya is an example. Check Nigeri's land mass and compare it with that of other countries, then compare the population too, you will understand how overpopulated we are. Texas a single state in the US is almost as big as Nigeria, but thie Us total population isn't up to double of ours, Russia is 20 times bigger than Nigeria but our population is bigger than theirs. |
Hahahahahahahahahah when the polls became publicised more Nigerians had the chance to vote and Jonathan ended up winning. The APC plebs didn't mention TAN when Buhari was leading. |
egift:Hahaha as if we don't know you are being paid for this. I said it in another thread that you must be one of APC highest paid online agents. Tthe way you jump from one thread to the other blasting Jonathan even in unrelated topis is not ordinary |

The useless mod used the excuse of pictures being posted to hide the other thread so that people wouldn't know about the erosion ravaging Yoruba land (albeit a Fulani colony) |

Gbadamosi added that the damaged tracks had crippled train services during the recent Eid-el-Kabir festival regarded as the corporation’s peak period. “The most catastrophic is the Unity Road junction although there are pockets of minor ones, but the major one is that of Unity junction,” he said. Gbadamosi, however, assured the public that train services would soon be restored. He also accused the state government of not providing the right drainage system, especially during the rainy season. “This is becoming a regular phenomenon created by the state government. “It is government’s responsibility to provide appropriate drainage to accommodate the volume of storm water, considering the topography of the affected areas,” he said. Gbadamosi appealed to the state government to provide appropriate drainage system in the affected locations to accommodate the volume of storm water during rainfall. He said the corporation had been battling in the last two weeks with the restoration of the tracks in order to link the Northern and Southern part of the country to ensure effective train services. Gbadamosi said the corporation was committed to providing efficient, effective, safe and reliable train services in the country. https://sunnewsonline.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/obiano-new-702x336.jpg Following the soar-away success the government of Anambra State has so far recorded in attracting significant investments into the agricultural sector of the state, plans are under-way for a high-level town hall meeting on agriculture to be hosted by the government in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. The planned meeting is one of the highlights of a closed-door meeting that recently took place in Abuja between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina and a special delegation from Anambra State Ministry of Agriculture led by the governor of the state, Chief Willie Obiano. The meeting came on the heels of a string of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) the government of Anambra State recently signed with big-time investors who are currently setting up shops in the food belt of the state to commence large-scale mechanised farming. Giving assurances of the ministry’s readiness for the proposed meeting, Dr. Adesina said: “We are going to have a special agricultural engagement in Anambra State. I will come with a strong team and we shall have high-level deliberations on agriculture.” According to him, the Federal Government had just approved an agricultural mechanisation scheme estimated at N50billion, which would finally weed out the dependence on hoes and cutlasses by Nigerian farmers. The mechanisation support grant would enable the farmers to hire tractors and engage in modern farm practices. The minister also declared that the Federal Government would fast-track the full realisation of the proposed Staple Crops Processing Zone that had been designated for Omor in Ayamelum Local Government Area of the state, describing the mill as very important to his ministry. Dr. Adesina also lauded Governor Obiano’s achievements in the past six months, saying the strides, had fully restored the confidence of the investment community, leading to the recent acquisition of the moribund Omor Rice Mill by Joseph Agro Limited and the planned investment of $150million to revamp the mill. Said he: “My ministry is one of the first few places you visited when you were sworn in as governor of Anambra State. You are one governor that got it right. You came here to share your plans for the agricultural sector and I could see that you were very passionate to make an impact there. Your administration is moving at an incredible speed. I think it comes from your private sector background. I followed your efforts to provide security in Anambra State and I am happy that the benefits have started pouring in now.” The minister also assured of the readiness of his ministry to partner with Anambra State in aqua- culture, promising to lend critical support to Obiano’s plans to make the state a leader in the production of fingerlings in the country. Earlier, in his opening remarks, Obiano had appealed for the assistance of the minister to ensure that Anambra State was adopted by the ministry as one of the leading agricultural states in the country. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=84760 |

Why is this thread not on front page yet? Your guess is as good as mine. Had it been the ''west'' in that article was ''east'', the thread would have been on front page even before having up to 5 comments. |
