opened the counter intelligence Crossfire Hurricane.

Given that the IG could not question Halper Mifsud etc he could only conclude that the beginning of the spying operation on Trump was OK. He did not question those who setup Papadopoulos.

After watching the hearing, I think the IG made his case very well. he explained that the laws set a LOW THRESHOLD the FBI needs to meet before launching a counter intelligence probe and they met it and opened the probe lawfully but they now chose to conduct the investigation in a very wrong way. The FBI received a tip from the Australians the Trump campaign might be colluding with the Russians and they correctly opened a probe but they needed a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign and they had nothing to present to the FISA court to get the warrant so they decided to use the Steele dossier which they knew was false information to deceive the FISA court and get the warrant

I disagree, the FBI were more interested in pinning a crime on the Trump campaign than investigating anything and there was clear bias against Trump. They were not incompetent, they were deliberate and knew exactly what they were doing. Just look at all of them today, they're always on CNN campaigning against Trump, they are all anti Trump.
