Do you also realise that criminals can use the same method to fool them? am not saying these people are criminals..am only saying calmness in situations like this one would have avoided escalating to this level. Good one. The Government of any country owe their citizens protection from these kind of schemes. There was an investment platform a friend introduced me to. When I wanted to register, the company noticed my IP was from UK. They sent a prompt asking me to confirm I am not a citizen of the United Kingdom otherwise I won't be allowed to use their service. That was a deal breaker for me. Sure enough...the scheme collapsed after 2 months.
They denied me registration because they know the UK Governments will come for them if they try that shit with it's citizens.
These things persist in Africa because the leaders turn a blind eye to it.
