HealthCovid-19: Valentine Ozigbo Distributes Free Hand Sanitizers In Anambra by ComrMayor123(op): 11:05pm On Mar 27, 2020
Business Mogul and Philanthropist, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo has launched a social responsibility Coronavirus Street Awareness Campaign in his home state of Anambra.

The community outreach programme, an initiative of the Chineto Ozigbo Foundation, would begin on Saturday, March 28, 2020 and would take place in over 50 markets in the southeastern state.

In a statement signed by Izuchukwu Oraelosi, the General Manager of the Foundation, he revealed that Mr. Ozigbo is distributing 15,000 bottles of hand sanitizers and educational fliers to market women.

“It has become imperative to create massive awareness about the global pandemic in the wake of the associated dangers and poor information around the virus especially in local communities across Nigeria,” Mr. [X] said. “Our foundation was created to serve our people and this is just one more in the numerous projects we have carried out to empower our people.”

On Tuesday, Ozigbo had urged President Muhammadu Buhari to ‘immediately ban interstate movement’ to curb the spread of COVID-19. Two days later, the country’s information minister, Lai Mohammed, hinted that it was considering implementing the measure.

Mr. Ozigbo, in his high profile intervention had said that Nigeria is ill-prepared for the coronavirus health crisis, adding that “the most vulnerable are citizens who live in villages and local communities where access to basic healthcare is frightfully limited.”

“With over 21,000 dead and over 500,000 infected in this global epidemic, there is a lot of fear and uncertainty in the country right now,” Mr. Ozigbo said. “I believe that right information is a form of defense so we launched this enlightenment campaign to empower our people to take safety measures during this unprecedented crisis.”

“This is the time for corporations, individuals and other private sector actors to take the initiative to support whatever the Government is doing because the Government cannot fight this alone. This is why I am pioneering the Coronavirus Street Awareness Campaign to raise awareness about the disease and distribute free hand sanitizers to citizens in local communities across my home state of Anambra. Every little effort counts,” he said.

Nigeria currently has 70 confirmed cases of coronavirus and public gatherings and markets are being closed across the country.

PoliticsValentine Chineto Ozigbo: The Making Of A Corporate Icon And A Global Brand by ComrMayor123(op): 8:20am On Mar 14, 2020
By Gozie Irogboli

Writing on a concept, idea or events is much easier than writing about an individual yet it is imperative that sometimes we write on personalities especially those with impeccable credentials; the purpose being to encourage or spur others to do that which is right and aspire to achieve greatness. As a person, a scholar, a public affairs commentator, I find it extremely difficult to write on individuals so that my intentions may not be misconstrued by people. Nevertheless, I also find it as a bounden duty to always do that which is right no matter whose ox is gored. I do not play to the gallery or pander to the whims of popular opinion which in most cases may be a parochial view of some individuals forced into the public psyche by media spin doctors. I try to be blunt but fair. In contemporary Nigeria, it is always a delight to see those who have achieved greatness especially among the youths in this era when the youths out of frustration have turned drug addicts, renegades and degenerate gamblers. Despite the frustrations and suffocating environment under which Nigerians live at present, there are still many youth achievers who have braved the storm. And when the history of youth achievers in this country is made, one of the names that will stand out prominently is that of *Valentine Chineto Ozigbo.* In this era when the youth are regarded as lazy in this country, Val Ozigbo has proved to be an old head on a young shoulder. Like most Igbo people, Valentine Chineto Ozigbo achieved greatness by dint of hard work, not by patronage or godfatherism. From a humble beginning as the son of a village teacher he rose meteorically to the height of a corporate icon, a captain of the industry, and an established professional with sound professional affiliations and impeccable credentials with local and international recognition. Yes, he has risen from relatively position of obscurity to become a global icon, a distinguished business executive, and a manager of resources, a leader of people, a delectable brand and a king of the youths. He is a man of many parts—an entrepreneur, acorporate icon, a philanthropist, a youth leader, a trail blazer, a trend setter. He has an enviable resume. The comments made by those who know him at close quarters—school mates, colleagues, teachers, clients etc—are all very inspiring. He is an intelligent, articulate and a resilient personality with an incredible people management and problem solving skills. His early education was in his home town Amesi before he attended University of Nigeria Nsukka where he had his first degree in Accounting and MBA and later MSc with a distinction in Finance from Lancaster University, United Kingdom. He is a fellow of the Institute of chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a fellow of The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and a fellow Institute of Credit Administration. He began his professional career in banking where he had glorious career spanning over seventeen years. He seemed to be a highly sought-after commodity having worked in seven
different banks namely: NAL Merchant Bank, Diamond Bank, Continental Trust Bank, FSB International Bank, Standard Trust Bank, United Bank for Africa and Bank PHB. He distinguished himself in the banking sector and since joining the Transnational Corporation, he has proved to be an invaluable asset to the conglomerate. In 2019, following his outstanding success in steering Transcorp Hotels Plc, a subsidiary of Transnational Corporation to a new height, he was appointed the President and CEO of transnational corporation a Nigerian conglomerate with diversified investments in many sectors of the economy. In numerous business conferences at home and abroad and as a banker and a corporate personality has interacted with a broad spectrum of individuals in public and private sectors at home and abroad and has participated in the design and development of many multi-faceted projects and programmes. He has numerous awards in his kitty to exhibit for his enviable performance. He has the award of distinguished alumnus of Lancaster University. The National Youth Council of Nigeria gave him the award of Nigeria Global Youth Ambassador. In 2019, he was awarded Best CEO in Hospitality industry and Seven Stars Luxury Hospitality and lifestyle Awards also gave him the Seven Stars Personality of the Year Award. In fact, there is no space in this piece to enumerate the list awards and societal recognition in his honour. One amazing thing about this corporate icon is that he is also an accomplished philanthropist using his personal resources to sponsor youth activism in his native Anambra. His philanthropy has not removed his sense of shrewdness and prudence from him as a trained accountant versed in financial management. His brand of philanthropy is not the type that gives out hand out to people. He believes in building capacity, sponsoring and empowering people to be productive and to contribute meaningfully to the society. Thus, he has an Entrepreneurship financing package for his people, those who have business ideas. He is involved in promoting grassroots sports development initiatives through many channels. He sponsors Talent hunt/development programmes for upcoming artistes among other initiatives in his state. My love for philanthropists is that they are people-minded in their decisions always. It is therefore heartwarming to hear that Valentine Ozigbo is coming out for governorship election in Anambra his home state. His coming out no doubt will add colour and verve and flavor to the race to government house Awka in 2021. In the current Nigeria Democratic experiment, Anambra has been lucky to produce governors who are of professional hue, not the ‘traditional’ politicians. My interest in professionals in politics is associated with their attitude to performance. Unlike the traditional politicians who are mostly interested in being in power and may not care about performance, the professionals are given to performance. They are performance and target driven. They want to make a mark. They want to leave a legacy. They want to be remembered for their projects and programmes. They are passionate about them. As they have done earlier in their business pursuit, they want to distinguish themselves in leadership and service to their people. They are used to pressure, deadlines and targets. They know how to work on challenges, constraints and tight or lean budget. They know how to rank their priorities and optimize resource utilization. They know how to motivate and empower their people. They believe in stakeholder engagement knowing how to network and get the people focused on shared goals.
Professionals in politics are organized, dependable and articulate. The professionals are disciplined having been conditioned by regimented corporate life style. They know why they are coming out having done proper and realistic situation analysis. So they are coming out to make meaningful contributions. The traditional politician is selfish and greedy. His interest is the people being loyal to him. He will prefer to keep the people around him poor and pauperized so that he would be the last man standing. I once asked a traditional politician who was eyeing the governor's seat in his state what he considered to be the main problem confronting his state. His answer was as shocking as it was farcical. He told me that he had nothing to do with problem of the state and that his ambition was to be in government house. The traditional Nigerian politician interest is winning election and holding on to power. He believes in winning at all costs. He believes politics is a zero sum game and a do-or-die affair. Instead of constructively engaging the electorates and articulation of interests and a workable manifesto, he would prefer winning through unorthodox means—rigging and violence. This is because most traditional Nigerian politicians have no other job except politics and so to them, losing would mean joblessness. Our professionals should be encouraged and emboldened to invest and participate in politics in order to wrestle power from the drones that has mismanaged our state affairs. We need the likes of Val Ozigbo in politics to replicate that which they have done in the corporate world in our public sphere; to clean up the Augean stable and restore sanity in our body politic. Examples of professionals who have distinguished themselves in public service include: Okonjo-Iweala former Finance Minister, Peter Obi former Governor of Anambra State, Akinwumi Adesina former Minister of Agriculture, Emmanuel Udom current Governor of Akwa Ibom State among others.

Compendium: Good Afternoon sir

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: Good Afternoon

Compendium: Sir, can you tell us a little about yourself?

Mr Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: My name is Valentine Ozigbo, I consider myself a child of grace and a product of hard work. I spent my early years in the village and not just one village, but several, by virtue of being the last child of a village headmaster and catechist who was posted to several villages during his active years, so it is safe to call me a village boy. These movements around different communities, culture and people helped me understand the uniqueness of different people and cultures and helped shape my behaviour and discipline. Also, being the child of a catechist and headmaster, schooling in the same school where your father is teaching actually meant that I needed to live above board because whatever I did, people were watching and were ready to point fingers at the “Headmaster and catechists son”. So, that put a lot of pressure on me and expectedly informed my behaviour. I had to imbibe the culture of excellence early in life, making me one of the best students in primary and secondary school.

I was a science student who wanted to study Medicine but my eldest brother whom I respected so much, asked me why? I really could not answer to why I wanted to be a doctor, all that I knew was that I liked the prefix-Dr, before my name. He went further to ask what I loved doing and I said business, then he encouraged me to take a business course. Hence, why I ended up studying accounting at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). I also made the best result in the department and faculty. I made the best result in the Department and Faculty and went further to get my Masters degree at the same school. After that, I won the British Chevening Scholarship to do my second Masters in England where I also graduated with a distinction.

I worked for 17 years in the Banking industry, ended up in the field of international Banking and global transaction banking and helped open banks in many parts of the world which exposed me to various international cultures around the world. I took over the reins at Transcorp Hotels Plc as the first CEO for 7 years and handled its transformation into the Transcorp Hilton Abuja that we all know today. To this effect, we won various awards including the best business hotel in Africa and as a result of that too, I am one of the most decorated men in Nigeria today in the hospitality industry. I am also the only black man to win the “CEO of the year” and the “Hospitality man of the year” award in the Industry by the Seven Stars Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards.
In 2019, I was promoted to the position of Group President and CEO of Transcorp Group that covers hospitality, Power and the Oil and Gas.

Beyond the professional side of me, there is also the philanthropy side; I have chaired and been actively involved in “Unusual Praise,” the largest Catholic Gospel Concert in Nigeria and its sub-division, Unusual Entrepreneurs for 2 years now and counting. Both programs serve as an avenue to empower men and women in the church, so they not only gain the spiritual benefits but also the economic empowerment. Just last year, Unusual entrepreneurs empowered 251 men and women of the church with about 40 million naira.

Also, beyond the spiritual, I am interested in helping the talented grassroot of Nigeria through a sport known as Freestyle Football. I am the Chairman of “Feet ‘n’ Tricks International Limited” which is a Platform I set up to promote freestyle football by way of empowering youths and basically providing employment as required. In 2018, during the African Championship, an Anambra indigene emerged as the Nigerian champion and got the opportunity to go to Poland and represent Nigeria in the global competition. I have done a lot of other things using my foundation, Chineto Ozigbo Foundation in Mentorship, Leadership training, Talent hunting and Business funding. I see myself as someone whose life is about impacting other lives; who derives joy in seeing that the society gets better and that is why there was unanimous clamour from my people to come out for the governorship of Anambra State. This is why I have been in various consultations and will be making a formal declaration soon. I have also chaired a lot of Leadership Programmes in some tertiary institutions in Nigeria because I am interested in practical education not just theoretical education.

Im a fellow of many Professional bodies such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Institute of Tourism Professionals, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Institute of Credit Administration.

Compendium: You had BSc Accountancy and an MBA in Banking and Finance from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and later MSc in Finance from the Lancaster University in England. Did you also study Hotel Management?

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: My role as a CEO is administrative, management, visioning, strategy, leveraging people and the team to achieve optimum result. Am I well-schooled in those? absolutely yes. Having a hotel management degree is not necessary to carry out the above stated roles but I have, however, taken various professional courses in that regard, including hotel development that I have now become an expert in and became a fellow of the Institute of Tourism Professionals. I was able to easily adapt to hotel management because I took over the management at the top-most level, where what is needed is the skill of managing people and getting the best out of them to serve your customers and other key stakeholders for optimum result.
Compendium: You have been succeeding in Business for years now, what keeps you going?

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: Challenges keep me going. They give me the fuel to want to succeed and if I dont at first, I take the lessons and try again. As we know, there is always a new challenge if you are seeking growth or expansion in business or life, so, this has been my motivation. Even as I move into politics, it is this same drive that will see me transforming various aspects of Anambra state and ensuring that its light blossoms.

Compendium: You taught Mathematics and Physics in secondary school while waiting for admission to the university, did you actually love teaching?

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: I am a born teacher; as a matter of fact, I succeeded in school because I taught my fellow students and, in the process, taught myself too. I believe that in teaching, we learn better. Teaching is natural to me, not just because I am the son of a headmaster. I learnt very early the importance of giving back through teaching and it was later in life I started to hear people call it mentorship.

Compendium: So far you have won many awards, what will you say is the reason behind your success?

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: There are many reasons. Success doesnt come that easy. The greatest way to succeed is to surround yourself with competent people, a vibrant and competent team to work with. As I am here, guests and customers at Transcorp hotels are making use of our facilities and hotel, the only reason I sit here comfortably is because I believe someone there is doing the right thing; is capable and competent to serve the customers and guests. I preach competence and capacity building because human resource is the single greatest asset that any organization can have. Beyond people, there is also the governance, if you want to build any Institution to last, you must have strong governing principles. Make sure there are processes and structures to guide people and ensure work/the institution can function without you being there. Managing all the ecosystems in the workplace and in business effectively will help you achieve the desired success.

There are other reasons but more lately and by far the most instructive is having the culture of continuous improvement, which drives me to want to do better in anything I do, how I do them and the experience from people I engage with.

In order to ensure that all three factors are always at work in me, I always want to ensure that I leave whoever I meet with very positive impression. And it really doesnt matter too much if I dont succeed always as much as it is important to me to try.

Compendium: In your opinion, what is your biggest challenge working as the President and CEO of Transcorp?

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: The challenge for me is moving to the next level and searching for better ways to do things. This is a challenge because I desire growth for my companies and in my personal life and because of that I am always challenged with how to move to the next level.

Compendium: Sir, how do you overcome these challenges when you face them?

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: Mastering a culture of continuous improvement has kept me going; This is a principle I hold dear in life and one that has helped me overcome the challenge I have just mentioned. I learn every day, wherever I am, I learn new things that will help me be as effective as I should be in my workplace. For example, as you are here today, think about yesterday, what did you do, how you spent your day, then write it down, check in all those times spent, how much was useful. If you find out that in these times, only 40% was useful move it to 50% and watch improvement take place. Taking personal steps to improvement will help you a lot, you must not wait till you do big things, do little things, and from there you grow big. So, finding a way to minimise waste in all I do is one way of conquering these challenges.

Compendium: In terms of leadership style, how will you describe yourself?

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: I like a balanced leadership style, one person can have multiple leadership styles. There is a time to be empathetic and a time to be firm. It is applying the right principles at the right time that really matters. For me, it is always about emotional intelligence. Once you have the right emotional intelligence, you will excel. Mastering your emotions and using it right. You know leadership is the ability to improve others to make them do things even in your absence. When you can inspire people to do the right thing without your presence, then you know you are on the right track. Inspirational leadership is what I advocate for - getting people to do the right things not because you are around. Leadership is the ability to get the best out of your people and that is what I stand for.

Compendium: Sir, in your opinion, what is the most singular concern of your employees?

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: I do not know if there is any singular concern, but I know that people always clamour for respect, recognition, elevation, appreciation and welfare improvement. Some of the companies under me are very unionised and they come together to make demands as far as conditions of service is concerned and it yields fruit because I stand for a favourable working environment, which is part of the gospel I preach for my people. Now, one of the things that will help an employee is to put their best in a performance-driven environment where their performance will account for their level of growth and development in life.

Compendium: What do you expect from your employees, what pleases you the most and what irritates you the most?

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: Every employer must always seek for high performance and proactive performance and on the flip side, it is quite displeasing to see an employee that is not delivering in his or her duties.

Compendium: If you were to choose between fame, wealth and wisdom, which will you choose?

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: I need a combination of the three. I need the three of them in this phase of my life. If you have all the money and you are stupid, its not enough. If you are wise and you still dont have money, it still won’t be enough. For those of us in politics, fame is needed, though a lot of things I have done in life, I have not done them for fame but at this moment in life, politically, fame is needed. I feel when you get successful in wealth creation and you have sufficient wisdom, fame will follow automatically. A balance of the three is the best.

Compendium: We will love you to offer advice to the younger generation.

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: Three things basically, one, strive for excellence, do not settle for less, and do not be a mediocre. Go for the best and be satisfied with the best alone. It is more important to make all the effots to be the best than in actually becoming the best. Secondly, your happiness depends on you not on others, figure out what happiness means and decide to be happy. It doesnt matter what people do or what people say, ignore who wants to get you upset and be happy. Finally, look for the better way of doing things, always challenge the status quo. Try and continuously improve in your interpersonal engagements, at work, at home and in everything you do. Thank you.

Compendium: Thank you sir

Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo: You are welcome

Politics*wanted: A New Breed For Anambra State* by ComrMayor123(op): 10:39pm On Jan 12, 2020
By Obiora Ngwueche

Before 2003, Anambra State was in a state of shambles following the virtual collapse of government governance machinery and institutional decay. Workers were owed a backlog of salary arrears and schools closed for about one year due to a debilitating strike action by teachers. The masses groaned and prayed fervently for a Messiah, but there was none in sight.

As elections drew near, with the incumbent seeking a second term despite his abysmal failure, one of the aspirants, Peter Obi, came up with the now famous question: “Is Anambra state cursed or are we the cause?”

Anambrarians would soon notice that the fault as exemplified in the backwardness and retarded development of the state was man- made, when Chris Ngige, the man that replaced the incumbent, albeit in controversial circumstances, famously showed that there was money in the coffers of the government. The rot before him was of such gargantuan stature that the merely paying salaries to workers made him a hero overnight.

When Mr Peter Obi eventually recovered his mandate from the courts, development of infrastructure and uplift of the well-being of the populace soared following his conscious agenda to better the lives of the people through a conscious policy of integrated strategic development which steered the state on the path of rejuvenation and revival.

The government in the state has done quite well in some areas like security. However, we believe that the state can do much better under a chief executive that has the ability to deliver the dividends of democracy in a fair, just and equitable manner.

This is understandable given that the Chief Executive as Governor of the State is the person who determines the fate of the state in terms of dispensing the resources of the State. Accordingly, it has become a matter of considerable importance that the good people of Anambra State should at this critical moment of their democratic journey take stock and observe a quiet introspection in relation to the exercise of their choice as to who becomes the next Governor of the State.

It is therefore imperative to make it abundantly clear that at this critical point, the people of Anambra State need a young man with a requisite knowledge of innovation, organization, integration and creation, as well as expansion of wealth to advance the state's economic and social development.

Anambra State now, more than ever before, needs a young man, with concrete templates on how these can be achieved.

To this effect, I have thoroughly gone through the challenges that confront the governance apparatus of the state. I have equally studied the the curriculum vitae (CV) and antecedents of all the individuals aspiring for the governorship seat of Anambra State, and I sincerely found *MR. VALENTINE CHINETO OZIGBO (PRESIDENT TRANSCORP PLC)* as the most suitable, qualified person to hold the reins of governance of the state as regards his intimidating CV and his wondrous achievements in both the banking industry and the public sector.

A brief mention of some of his achievements may be necessary here:

Mr. Ozigbo is a renowned Banker with 17 years experience during which time he worked with NAL Merchant Bank, Diamond Bank, Continental Trust Bank, FSB International Bank, Standard Trust Bank, United Bank of Africa and Bank PHB.

As the CEO of Transcorp Hotels PLC, He sustained it as the best award winning Hotel not only in Nigeria but in the whole of Africa for a consecutive period of 7 years.

As a consequence of his magical revival of Transcorp Hotels within a short spell of time, he was elected to mount the saddle as the over-all head of the Transcorp Conglomerate which includes Transcorp Power, Transcorp Oil and Gas, Transcorp Hotels, and the TRANSCORP GROUP PLC, as the PRESIDENT

As a consultant, and due to his wealth of knowledge in Accounting, he has been invited to participated in many numerous International conferences, including but not limited to: the World Economic Forum, at Davos (WEF), The World Economic Forum on Africa (WEFA), in Nigeria, The Africa Development Bank annual meetings, in China, The World Bank/International Monetary Fund(IMF) annual meetings, in Washington DC, Euromoney and Economic Conferences, in London, Euromoney debates on Capital Flows to Africa, in London, and SIBOS 2009, among others.

On a personal level, in
In 1992/1993, he won the Faculty Prize for the Best Final Year Student, Faculty of Business Administration at UNN;
the1992/1993 Best Final Year Student in the in the Department of Accountancy; the 1992/1993 Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) Prize for The Best Graduating Student in Accounting at same UNN; and the1992/1993 Peter Ajose Alli-Idowu Prize for the Best All-Round Student in Accountancy.

Furthermore in 2015, he won the State Patronship Award by Halman Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria; the 2016 Service Excellence (Hospitality and Tourism Sector Excellence) Award by the Institute for Service Excellence and Good Governance; the 2016 Seven Stars CEO of the Year by Seven Stars Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards; the 2018 Outstanding Leadership Award in Hospitality Operations and Management by the National Tourism Transport Summit and Expo.

Other awards include the 2018 Tourism Personality of the Year by Miss Tourism Nigeria; the 2018 Excellence in Hospitality Awards by the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA); and the 2019 Seven Star Personality of the Year Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards.

It is now as clear as day light that only a proven achiever like MR. VALENTINE CHINETO OZIGBO can add to the efforts of his predecessors and take the state the next level.

This can only be possible if a proven achiever like Mr Ozigbo is given the opportunity to replicate his successes elsewhere in Anambra.

Anambra State needs VALENTINE CHINETO OZIGBO, a young man who is known globally for excellence in service delivery.

Ndi Anambra, let us Change The Narrative Now!

PoliticsValentine Ozigbo, A Breath Of Fresh Air by ComrMayor123(op): 2:21pm On Jan 06, 2020
Once in a while, fate throws up a redeemer of his people from nowhere and such a person goes on to salvage his people from the nadir of despair.
The last time we saw this was in 2002 when a certain Mr Peter Obi took the politics of the state by storm. At the time, he was about the youngest man aspiring to be governor of a state then gasping for breath under the suffocating politics of godfatherism.
Many doubted Obi's capacity, especially given his lack of political experience. But those who look beyond the facade saw in him, someone who was capable, willing and committed to taking the state to another level. What happened afterwards is now history, but suffice it to say that Obi set the state on the path of economic stability.

Today, in almost the exact same circumstances, fate is about to throw up another man imbued with all the qualities to change the narrative of governance in Anambra.
A young man who has already conquered the corporate world, applying a Midas Touch to anything he touches and wowing all those that come across him. That man is Mr Valentine Chineto Ozigbo.

He is the president and CEO of the high soaring Transcorp, winning multiple awards and changing the dynamics of corporate enterprise in Nigeria.

Why does Anambra need
Ozigbo at this point?

To say that Anambra badly needs to up the ante of governance at this point is to state the very obvious. Though the incumbent government is doing its best, the feeling remains that something is still lacking; a yawning gap waiting to be filled. It is not what just anyone can do. It requires a person who has the capacity to take the state to the next level, not by mere talk, but by provoking a chain of actions necessary for that extra jump.

With his wide connections in Nigeria and beyond, Ozigbo certainly ticks all the boxes.
As president of Transcorp, Ozigbo has met with at least 40 heads of state, including our own president. He enjoys the goodwill of many state governors too; just as he's proved more than capable of managing men and resources. Indeed, if he could take Transcorp to global reckoning, there's nothing in the book that says he cannot replicate that in Anambra.
Ozigbo fits the bill because he has the wherewithal, as well as the vision, to manage the state.

It is also instructive to note that the brand, Ozigbo, isn't restricted to its humongous exploits at Transcorp. It is also a brand that seeks to innovate and develop something out of nothing. Ozigbo is currently blazing the trail in what is known as Free Style Football, of which he has become the biggest promoter on the African continent.
Through this project, he is changing lives in a rapid manner that will project him to global acclaim in sports in a couple of years.
This aspect of him underlines his capacity to create and compete globally; qualities badly needed at this time in Anambra State.

Away from sports is also another aspect of Ozigbo's creative nous. For some time now, he has been involved in what is called Unusual Praise. This is a brand new way of getting people to worship God in an unusual manner. It also seeks to grow gospel ministers and empower young men and women in what is also termed Unusual Entrepreneur.
Ozigbo is one man who always strives to conquer his immediate space by thinking out of the box. It is clear that under his watch, Anambra governance won't be all about paying salaries and building roads. The great nations of the world are not just about that.

A state as complex as Anambra is not ife eji edu mmadu uno. The state needs a man that can enjoy the confidence of investors and our people outside; a man that others can rest assured that their state is in safe hands.
He may be young, but is it not said that when a child washes his hands he dines with the elders? Ozigbo has washed even both hands and the elders are beckoning on him to dine with them.
Like the state got a breath of fresh air in 2003, another breath of fresh air is about to be let out in the state.

Ozigbo is also from the South Senatorial Zone of the state where popular sentiments point to as the zone to produce the next governor. But Ozigbo is not making waves because he is from the South. He is making waves because he is Good.

Humble, unassuming and intelligent, Ozigbo is ready to serve his people on the platform of PDP and at the appropriate time, will roar like the lion.

PoliticsMr. Val Ozigbo Empowers The Widows by ComrMayor123(op): 7:25am On Jan 01, 2020
In the spirit of joy and the Yuletide, Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo (President/C.E.O. Transnational Corporation of Nigeria) through his foundation (Chineto Ozigbo Foundation), launches a state wide outreach and empowerment for widows in Anambra State today.

This outreach is targeted at 531 select widows across the 177 towns in Anambra State, without regard to religious affiliation.

In line with his nature of continually improving and impacting lives, Mr. Ozigbo, through this outreach, looks to improve more lives by constantly exploring innovative ways of achieving this.

Today, he started with Anambra South with 2 major locations as the port of distribution. That is St. Joseph's Catholic Church Ekwulobia and Nnewi, CWO Hall, Cathedral Nnewi.  Where he met with widows from the L.G.As.

Anambra South, comprises 7 L.G.A.s, that is, Orumba North, Orumba South, Auguata, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Ekwusigo, and Ihiala. Thereafter, Mr Ozigbo will be heading to Anambra North, on the 2nd of January, 2020, and Anambra Central on 3rd January 2020.

In declaring the outreach open, Mr Ozigbo had this to say:

"For many years, I have always identified with women, especially widows, at this time of the year, in the spirit of the Yuletide. I do this yearly because I believe that the best form of celebration is giving and impacting lives as our Lord Jesus that we celebrate is Love. And giving to those who have no immediate ability to reciprocate is by far better. But I also note that they have a lot more to give in return than we know, as I believe in the efficacy of the prayers of widows, especially those who have now made Jesus as their new husbands".

One of the cardinal goals of this outreach is to ameliorate the suffering and neglect faced by widows in society. This is in line with Mr. Ozigbo's philosophy of improving the general living conditions of the less privileged in society.
