Education / Re: Can A South African Trained Lawyer Practice In Nigeria? by Confused10: 3:29pm On Nov 22, 2009
Hello All,

I was just wondering whether anyone knows whether the Nigerian law school accepts a B.A in law or does it have to be a LLB. I have a B.A in Economics, Politics and Law, I have my entrance soliitors exams done in Ireland and I am currently studing a LLM. I have all the stipulated law subjects needed by the Nigerian law society done and I have even done the majority of these topics done twice, once for my undergraduate and then again for my entrance soliitors exams. The only subject I have not done is commercial. I was wondering whether my qualifications would be sufficient in order to enter law school.

Any advice, anyone could give me please would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone of can help me on my eligibilty to Nigerian law school. I have a B.A in Politics and Law. I have my ENTRANCE Solicitors exams done in a commonwealth country (Ireland) and I am currently studying a LLM. I have done all the compulsory law subjects stipulated my the nigerian law society except commercial law and I have even done most of those subjects twice, once in my ungerdraduate and also for my ENTRANCE Solicitors exams. I was wondering whether the law society will automatically look at the fact that I have a B.A in Politics and Law and deem me uneligible because its not a LLB or whether they will beyond that and actually the contents of my degree and Entrance Solicitors exams and look at the fact that I have covered all the law subjects and covered them in depth.

Thank you for the help.
