Afam4eva: Moyes or no Moyes, he's too big for Man U. Btw, i find it strange that you ManU fans are calling for the scot's head knowing fully well that he's not had the opportunity to shop for players. I think he should be giving the benefit of the doubt till the second half of the season to prove himself. He might not be the best coach in the world but he's a good coach nonetheless and he may be even better than Sir Alex Ferguson. ![]() |
Now the question on the minds of football fans is: Will Manchester United qualify for next year Champions League? ![]() |
Should David Moyes be sacked? Should Fergie be persuaded to return? Last week, Manchester United were knocked out of the FA Cup after a 2-1 loss at home to Swansea, the Welsh side's first win at Old Trafford. Tonight, they lost to Sunderland 2-1 now totaling 3 losses in a row. Sunderland's 4th win having lost 12 games so far this season, presently 20th position in the Premier league... sad I remember those days when Man utd fans dey insult Arsenal fans sey dem never win title for almost a decade now. Did i hear someone say "What goes around, comes around"... .I have not seen this happen to Manchester United & i know many viewers share my concerns. The embarrassment is so much that Moderators no dey gree put Man utd games 4 frontpage again... It is this bad!!! It Is this the end of an era? Gone were the days Man Utd sent fears into the minds of opponents but since Fergie retired, its been bad luck as Man Utd presently sits on the 7th position on the League Standing in the New Year.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes signing Lionel Messi would take Paris Saint-Germain to the next level and make them European title contenders. According to Skysports, rumours in the French media have suggested the big-spending Paris side are preparing a record bid for Barcelona’s Argentina playmaker. Ibrahimovic played alongside Messi during his two-year spell at Camp Nou but struggled to forge a successful partnership with the diminutive forward. However, the Sweden international believes the addition of his former team-mate and four-time Ballon d’Or winner would make PSG a force to be reckoned with in Europe. “If he’s up for sale then the whole world will be after him, not just PSG,” Ibrahimovic said at a winter training camp in Doha. “I don’t know the situation but I think he’s very happy at Barcelona. “The press creates this but only he knows the truth. PSG’s project is to dream bigger but if you buy Messi, you don’t dream bigger, you are bigger.” Since the Ligue 1 side’s takeover, signings such as Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Lucas Moura and Edinson Cavani have many highlighting PSG as genuine contenders for the UEFA Champions League crown. They reached the quarter-finals last year, where they lost on away goals to Messi’s Barcelona, while their best result in the competition remains their semi-final run in 1995. Although PSG are champions of France and leading the way in Ligue 1 again this season, Ibrahimovic is determined to go one step further. “I’m never satisfied, I want to win,” he added. “We’ve progressed well and quickly. The team has come on very quickly in the right direction. “We play very good football, we have the ball, we create chances. “There’s a high level of collective quality, our mentality is progressing. Everything’s going in the right direction and I’m delighted.” The Paris side take on Real Madrid in a friendly in Doha on Thursday and Ibrahimovic insists it will not be a light-hearted affair. “Unfortunately it’s a friendly match but we’ll treat it like a competitive match,” he said. “It would be good for confidence to win.”

The police in Ogun on Saturday foiled a robbery attack on an Automated Teller Machine in front of the Crescent University, Abeokuta. A 20-year-old welder, Abdullahi Tunde, was arrested and the police recovered two gas cylinders, two sledge hammers, two giant chisels, fire lighters, screw drivers, a torch light and a pack of bottle water. Our correspondent gathered that a gang of five armed robbers had at about 1:30am on Saturday stormed the private university where they tied up the five security guardson duty. The suspected robbers were said to have vandalised the ATM, belonging to one of the new generation banks loaded with large sums of money on Friday. They were, however, said to have been forced to flee by policemen who arrived the scene of the crime following a tip-off. Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, said that the robbers could not cart away the money from the ATM. Adejobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, stated that the suspected robbers fled the scene after a police armoured personnel carrier from Randa area of Abeokuta rushed to the university. The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikemefuna Okoye, had already ordered investigation into the incident. He added all efforts would be made to apprehend the fleeing suspects, warning members of the public to be more careful in handling cash, especially during the festive period. Adejobi said, “The police raced down to the school on time. On getting there, they met five guards whose legs and hands had been tied. The robbers had vandalised the security door and tampered with some equipment in order to have access to the ATM strong room. But they could not have access; the money is intact. They scaled the fence to the other side and abandoned their equipment.”
