any more yankeeites, jandites, overseaites  on a long stay to defend themselves, what a pity on  those who have  sold  themselves away from their home land and  neva intend to return home 

like i av been saying on this thread, if u are travelling abroad for studies whether finland , uk, us e.tc its better to have some money that would keep u 4 some time, just like in finland its a very developed society and among the first countries with high standard of living in d world, i am not here to discourage anyone cus i know many nigerians av taken good advantage of this finnish education which is highly recognized with nice university programs, as a student u can work in finland but its better to at least come with some money that can feed u and pay for ur rent up to 6 months, cus u might not be able to get a job immediately on ur arrival but im sure with time u'll find one. Then as regards doing odd jobs of course its not naija where people see some jobs as ridiculous, in europe who cares about your life, just make sure u are staying legally  and  face ur studies well, sky is ur limit,

but now if everybody keeps thinking this way, how do we solve the problems facing naija . many of this overseas country our people are av gone through thesame hardship b4 they became where they are today, i  believe naija too would get there one day at least things are getting better nowadayz, some claims they like staying abroad due to security sake, uhmm i guess this is just a flimsy excuse, afterall so many people are in naija
safe and sound, if u know your God, all dat doesnt count , some said they dont want to
invest in naija due to fraud,  ,  of course i dont think u can do that as well in the foreign man land conviniently, cus there is nothing new under d sun there, even these whites
comes down to nigeria seeing opportunities, invest alot of money & making their returns back big time,  ask them they know how they manage their business well, monitoring their activities and at thesame time sharp,  .

@ iyeayo uhm but  what about those suffering abroad, without valid papers and  even without  bad job to do can u tell us what is keeping dem from naija where their people can still assist them,

Then concerning stable electricity, security, entertainment, nice accomodation dont u feel some people who have stayed long and made enough cash hustling abroad  can get these as well in nigeria, i overheard a nigerian-jand  guy who says he feels more @ home, involved and free in naija compared to the other side where he amends his real nature 2 blend with d society,

Then what about  those odd jobs abroad, sshhhhh ,  , can u compare that to investing in naija to contribute ur own quota towards the development and make enough cash as well, i feel one  can also think big like dem dangotes, dele momodu, mike adenugas, and so on  afterall the embassies doesnt check their passport twice b4 they stamp am,  u know wetin i mean now,

i think its time to really breakdown whats up with this finland thing cus i guess there has been some kinds of misconceptions on this thread. Guys just chill out , the aim of this thread is to enlighten ourselves not to make this place a battle field  . Finland  has alot of nice schools, depending on what  level of studies you are going for, if it is masters program
you send your application to the schools directly but if it is undergraduate program after applying online and sending your document to your school of 1st  choice,depending on their assessment of your documents  you may be invited  for an  entrance exams. most schools conduct entrance exam in Ghana for African applicants while few conducts theirs on campus in finland, but to be sincere the Embassy confirmed  they dont give visas to attend entrance exam so u have to make the right school selections to take  ur exam in Ghana. If you are sucessful in the exam,  u would be notified & sent an admission letter which you can then use to apply for you residence permit for 1yr at a time, op this  is clear   then it is very advisable to come to finland at least with enough money to keep you for months cus really its hard most times to get job as a non-finnish  speaker even though they speak English very well this is the sad thing about it, but of course Nigerians are there that get jobs with time and makes there cash big time, so no shaking, God dey , To crown it all University of Helsinki in finland is the among the best 10 universities in europe and its free unlike in Uk where u pay alot to get good education as well, so it depends on your pocket

@ blackspade pls can u expantiate more on the opportunities that are in US that we dont have in Nigeria, i understand if u talk about the living conditions there, but some people believes that opportunities are more in nigeria since there is still alot needs to be met.

i think jassie is right to some extent but not talking about any tribal issue that he talked about, finnish is the language in Finland but like other scandinavian countries almost everybody speaks English fluently, many nigerians are there as well studying, im sure it wouldnt be difficult for those that are going study genuinely having adequate cash to live on and not to go and hustle, cus most time its hard to get jobs, then concerning the issue of schools finnish schools are nice with alot of academic facilities available,

can someone tell me the reason why most naija people prefers staying abroad, when we av big cities like lagos, PH, abuja ,

but really nobody  has answered this question, why do Nigerians pamper and treat foriegn immigrants special in Nigeria while the reverse is mostly the case to our people in diaspora . This make these  people feel as if they are better than us , but when u are in their own land most times they feel u are inferior to them, and the funny thing is that they regard  themselves and other people  from developed countries, though Nigeria still has alot of  economic challenges but  i think we Nigerians  really has to learn how to appreciate ourselves also, more than other so called foreigners no matter where they come from either uk,australia, us, china, western europe e.t.c, dont be suprised if u see an illiterate  from any of these countries being respected and treated special than our  learned person in naija, i think this mentallity should change, cus they are watching us, this is from my  :-own experience
