The middle-aged man who was allegedly caught raping a chicken in Kenya was released Wednesday on a bond term of N183 272 by the Nyeri magistrate court.

Paul Nderitu Kihia was released by Resident Magistrate John Aringo, pending trial slated to begin on August 20 after he denied the charges.

Nderitu denied that on July 18, 2013 at Kigwandi village in Tetu district he raped a hen. The insident caused public outrage.

The Nigerian Police have detained Rivers State lawmaker, Chidi Lloyd, over a brutal assault carried out on a colleague, Michael Chinda.

Lloyd was detained by the police when he showed up at their headquarters at about 5p.m. A source at the Rivers State Government House said Lloyd made a statement to the police and was told to return tomorrow for further interrogation.

A bill for a law prohibiting rape and sexual harassment at work places was read for the first time in the Lagos State House of Assembly, AllAfrica reports.

If the bill is passes, under Section 7, any person found guilty of sexual harassment will be dismissed from work and fined N250 000 or serve a six month jail sentence.

I am writing this from Nairobi, Kenya. You can see it as warning of oppression. Being a Nigerian and staying here illegally is a crime in Kenya. Talking or walking like a Nigerian is crime in Kenya.

This is someone who lived in this country for more than two decades and acquired properties and made transactions for all this decades in his name. How on earth in a democratic country don't you need every documentation before having accounts and properties.

The reason why I am writing this is to inform you that all Nigerians travelling through or coming to Kenya should be careful of the high level of harassment of Nigerians in Kenya. Some have even been taken to unknown prisons.
