My guess is that the intervention by CBN in agriculture really helped and the pressure on the naira could be because of speculators, cryptocurrency and rationing of forex by CBN.

Let say you buy 15 bag

Transport ( 15)=. 30k
Total 285k


The price of a bag of maize in southern market is 22k
Let say 22k
22k * 15 bags= 330k
330k - 285k = 45k profit per trip

If you try to supply two trip in a week, you will make profit of 90k in a week, even if it just 2k profit you add on a bag, it is okay to get buyer sharp sharp.Even there are many market in northern market you can supply and get your money immediately, don't ask me HOW?, Do your research further.

The professor is talking nonsense, saying things like inefficient power supply, naira depreciation and increased cost of production that is why no body is investing , the same nonsense he has been telling his students since 1989.

the Director-General of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr Chijioke Ekechukwu, made some very good point than the professor.

The main issue why nvestors are not investing is mainly security and not naira depreciation, naira depreciation makes foreign investors buy assets for very cheap. Cosy of labour is very cheap in Nigeria, compared to other places and big companies do economics of scale to recoup all their investments.
