Here are the responsibilities God wants from these nations as stated in Zechariah 8:16-17:

* Tell the truth.

A Nation that wants to do well should structure its entire system in such a way that citizens can’t lie. Truth always set people free from bondage. The more the citizens become full of lies, the more they become corrupt in their daily engagement with people.

If you are not qualified for a job, you can’t get such job because the truthful system won’t allow you. Remember, a qualified security officer can set your house free from bandits.

John 8:32
And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

*Be fair.
The government of a nation that wants to be great will be fair to all of its citizens either big or small, rich or poor, educated or illiterate, guilty or innocent etc.

Deuteronomy 1:17
17 Show no partiality in your decisions; judge everyone on the same basis, no matter who they are

* Enforce peace/ the law.

The irony of this is that the law must be enforced for peace to reign. To enforce peace is to enforce the law. There can’t be peace when the laws are not enforced. Peace must be made to reign within the citizens, unfortunately, it can only happen when the law of the land is enforced with all sincerity.

Psalm 119:165

Great peace have they which love thy law and nothing shall offend them.

Failure to meet these demands of God by Nations wishing to be great is effort in futility.
