CHUKWU Vs CHUKWU Vs EMEMANKA: Abia APC Chairman Responds to Sarcastic Felicitations, Vows to Hold Alex Otti’s Administration Accountable* The Abia State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, has responded to what he described as sarcastic congratulatory remarks, from the Director General, Abia State Bureau of Strategic Communication, Onyebuchi Ememanka, following his recent assumption of office as the party’s chairman in Abia State. In a statement, Chukwu expressed appreciation for the message but maintained that the APC, under his leadership, would firmly play its role as an opposition party by holding the administration of Governor Alex Otti accountable. According to the statement, the party is committed to promoting transparency, due process, and accountability in governance, which he alleged is lacking in the current administration. Chukwu noted that the APC is well positioned to provide Abians with a credible alternative capable of delivering good governance anchored on transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness. He further stated that under an APC-led government in the state, freedom of speech and the effective functioning of opposition parties would be guaranteed, describing such principles as essential elements of a democratic system. The APC chairman also dismissed claims suggesting that the party should wait until 2031 or beyond to challenge the current administration, insisting that the people of Abia have begun to question what he described as “lies and deception” by the Otti’s government. He cited alleged inconsistencies in the state government’s claims on projects, including the construction of over 200 smart schools at 54b naira, the establishment of non existent recreation and ICT centre, and procurement expenses of one vehicle at 150bn naira, which he said could not be properly verified. While reiterating his appreciation for the felicitations, Chukwu expressed confidence that the people of Abia would make their decision in the next electoral cycle, adding that the APC remains determined to provide what he called a better governance alternative for the state.: Abia APC Chairman Responds to Sarcastic Felicitations, Vows to Hold Alex Otti’s Administration Accountable* The Abia State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Abia APC Renaissance Group Reaffirms Total Support for Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Condemns Blackmail and Falsehoods by Faceless Individuals The attention of the Abia State All Progressives Congress (APC) Renaissance Group has been drawn to a mischievous publication anchored around a fictitious name, Dr. Samuel Onwuka, and a so-called Concerned Abia APC Group. The misleading publication by the faceless group is obviously the handiwork of political detractors who feel threatened by the steady rise and growing influence of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and a distinguished son of Abia State. We are not unaware that, as the popular saying goes, “the Ukwa fruit does not fall far from the tree.” Those behind the faceless attack are the same elements who have consistently felt uncomfortable with the positive transformation and visibility that Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has brought to the APC in Abia State and the entire South East region. They are disturbed by his increasing relevance both at the national level and within the party’s hierarchy, as well as his close working relationship with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Since his inauguration as Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has remained a consistent and loyal supporter of President Tinubu’s administration. He has demonstrated uncommon leadership by calling on the people of the South East, especially his Igbo brothers and sisters, to rally around the President’s efforts aimed at revamping Nigeria’s economy, encouraging national unity, and restoring confidence in government institutions. His message has always been one of cooperation, inclusion, and partnership, values that are essential for meaningful development in our region. One of the most notable demonstrations of his commitment to peace and progress is his Peace in the South East Project (PISE-P), a visionary initiative designed to address the root causes of insecurity and disunity in the region. Through this platform, Rt. Hon. Kalu has gathered leaders, stakeholders, traditional rulers, clergy, youth groups, and opinion leaders from across the South East and beyond to dialogue on sustainable peace. The project promotes a non kinetic approach to peacebuilding, focusing on dialogue, empowerment, and reconciliation rather than violence and confrontation. Importantly, the Peace in the South East Project (PISE P) is complemented by his work with the Renewed Hope Partners, a President Tinubu support group that Rt. Hon. Kalu has continued to strengthen. Through this platform, he has taken the gospel of the President’s achievements to the grassroots, enlightening citizens on the achievements of President Tinubu, the effectiveness of his policies and mobilizing support for APC and Mr. President across communities. The initiative has also served as a tool to challenge the false narratives and propaganda being sponsored against the President by detractors, including the Abia State Government and other political opponents who seek to undermine the achievements of the APC administration. The PISE-P initiative, together with the Renewed Hope Partners, has received widespread commendation from diverse quarters, which ultimately makes the APC brand popular in the South-East, encouraging massive defection of Igbo political gladiators to the APC. Therefore, the Deputy Speaker has always had genuine desire to connect the South East fully to the center, under President Tinubu through collaboration, unity, and responsible leadership. Under Rt. Hon. Kalu’s leadership, the Abia APC has witnessed unprecedented visibility and acceptance. His commitment to the ideals of the APC and his continuous engagement with federal authorities have led to the attraction of several federal projects and interventions to his constituency and other parts of the South East. His influence in Abuja has opened new channels for development, ensuring that the region is not left behind in the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda. For the first time in many years, Abia APC members can proudly identify with a national leader who commands both respect and results. Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has become a bridge between the South East and the center, bringing hopeful conversations, understanding, and mutual respect between our region and the Federal Government. His political maturity, diplomacy, and humility have earned him admiration within and outside the party. We, the leaders and members of the Renaissance Group of the Progressives Congress in Abia State, therefore, reaffirm our total loyalty and support to Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu. We stand firmly with him as he continues to promote the progressive ideals of our great party and champion the cause of peace, unity, and development in the South East. We also use this opportunity to caution those hiding behind fake identities and pseudo organizations to desist from acts of blackmail and misinformation. It is unfortunate that some individuals, driven by envy and political frustration, would rather sow seeds of discord instead of supporting the tremendous progress being made under the leadership of the Deputy Speaker. As a responsible political family, the Abia APC will not be distracted by the noise of detractors. Our focus remains on strengthening the party, deepening its grassroots structures, and ensuring that Abia APC takes over Abia Government House and continues to retain its rightful place at the center of national politics. We call on all genuine members of the Abia APC ,Members of Renaissance Support Group and the wider South East political community to unite behind Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu and support his ongoing efforts to reposition our region for peace, prosperity, and inclusion in national governance. The Deputy Speaker represents the new face of leadership, one anchored on dialogue, performance, and loyalty to both the party and the people. Together, we shall continue to advance the vision of a stronger Abia and a more united South East under the leadership of the APC. Signed Abia APC Renaissance Group |

What do you expect FRSC to write? They must write to please their paymaster. Igbos do not hate Yorubas. The accident happened because of how narrow the roads are and the potholes. A good example is Dangote truck "wrongfully" overtaking another vehicle. It's mainly because of potholes. If the roads in Enugu was dualized, the accident couldn't have happened Peter Obi was right seunmsg: |
Dumping dead bodies of babies in dustbins is a heinous act that goes against the sanctity of life and basic human decency. Such actions not only disrespect the dignity of the deceased infants but also highlight a disturbing disregard for their rights and welfare. It is imperative for communities in Ogun State, Nigeria, and beyond to condemn and actively work against this practice, advocating for proper burial arrangements and support for mothers in distress to prevent such tragedies from reoccurring. Every child deserves respect, compassion, and the opportunity for a dignified farewell. |
