Religion / The Attempted Crucifixion Of Jesus In The Quran by Correxs: 11:22am On Apr 16, 2022
Islamic scholars generally believe that the Jews made real attempt to kill Jesus by crucifixion, but Allah rescued him. So, they argue that according to Quran Jesus didn’t die by crucifixion but another person took his place.
The verse of the Quran that is often used by Islamic scholars is Q 4:157, and for boasting, “We killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” But they neither killed nor crucified him—it was only made to appear so. Even those who argue for this ˹crucifixion˺ are in doubt. They have no knowledge whatsoever—only making assumptions. They certainly did not kill him. The next verse Q 4:158 concludes but Allah raised him to Himself. Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise [Quran.com]. The attempted crucifixion has led to the idea among some Muslims that Jesus was raised bodily to heaven and will come back again. However, this is controversial as some Muslims assert no evidence supports the second coming of Jesus in the Quran.

There is one major difference between the account of crucifixion in the Bible and the Quran. The biblical account was written by people who witnessed it while the account in the Quran was given as a revelation.
1. Jesus mentioned how he was going to die John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up, John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth
2. It was recorded that Jesus was indeed crucified: Matthew 27:35 And they crucified him (Jesus), Mark 15:24 And when they had crucified him (Jesus), Luke 23:31…which is called Calvary, there they crucified him (Jesus), and John 19:18 Where they crucified him (Jesus)…
3. Jesus disciple (Peter) talking about Jesus, Acts 2:22 …and by wicked hands have crucified and slain, Acts 4:10 …that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified…
4. Jesus disciple (Paul) preached about it, I Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified… the Bible is replete with the subject of Christ crucifixion, will be too many to mention.

The latter part of Q 4:157 “…Even those who argue for this ˹crucifixion˺ are in doubt. They have no knowledge whatsoever—only making assumptions; couldn’t have been referring to Christians because there was no doubt of any kind about Jesus crucifixion among the Christians.

From a revelational perspective Q 4:157-158 may not actually be countering Jesus crucifixion but just underlying the overall failure of the Jews action on Jesus. It’s written in the Quran that the Jews were boasting they killed Jesus, this could simply means it was Jesus that was actually crucified not another person. But what is the essence of boasting about crucifying Jesus that was raised and went to heaven bodily. So, the statement “it was only made to appear so” could mean Jesus actually died by crucifixion which would have satisfied the Jews, however, was later raised back to life. So, Quran may not actually counter crucifixion of Jesus but speaks from a revelational perspective.
Finally, since the crucifixion account in the Quran is revelational not a direct account as in the Bible, there is need for conscientious effort in its interpretation to counter direct accounts in the Bible. A revelatonal account of an event most often places more emphasis on the impact of the event rather than the occurrence of the event itself.
Religion / Re: Does The Bible Really Condemn Marrying More Than One Wife? by Correxs: 12:50pm On Mar 13, 2022
In the old, people like Solomon, David, Jacob, etc married more than one wife. God is still God and doesn't change. Do you think He now sees something wrong in marring more than one wife?

I believe this issue is one of those things God tolerated in the Old Testament. Gen 2:23-24 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 and the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. God created one woman out of one man to form the institution of marriage.

There are other things such as divorce, polygamy or polyandry were added to marriage by man. Jesus made it clear they are not from God... Matthew 19:3-5 3The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?. Jesus made it clear that marriage according to God, is between to individuals (a man and his wife).

So, according to establishment of marriage in Genesis 2 and the disposition of Jesus to the number of people that should constitute a marriage, polygamy is completely out of it for a Christian. Marriage is monogamy by default

If you understand Matthew 19:9, you will realize that polygamy is adultery by default. 9And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. If marrying another woman while you divorced your wife for any other reasons other than infidelity is adultery, how much more marrying another woman, when your wife is still with you.

In conclusion, marrying more than one wife is adultery for Christians and moreover, all those people mentioned (Solomon, David, Jacob...) above were not Christians.

Jesuschristus:
Oh, Christ worshipers! We want an answer to our question from your wise.

If the Lord was murdered by some people’s act…what sort of god is this?

We wonder! Was He pleased by what they did to Him? If yes,
blessed be they..they achieved the pleasure of His

But if He was discontented….this means their power subjugated His!!

Was the whole entity left without a Sustainer… so who answered the prayers?

Were the heavens vacated…when He laid under the ground somewheres?

Were all the worlds left without a God…to manage while His hands were nailed?

Why did not the angles help Him when they heard him while he wailed?

How could the rods stand to bear the True Lord when He was fastened

How could the iron reach Him and His body pinioned?

How could His enemies’ hands reach Him and slap His rear

And was Christ revived by himself…or the Reviver was another god?

What a sight it is!A grave that enclosed a god!
What’s more weird is the belly that had Him in it!

He stayed there for nine months in utter darkness…fed by blood!

Then he got out of the womb as a small baby,
weak and gaping to be breastfed!

He ate and drank, and did what that naturally resulted in
Is this a god??!!

High Exalted be Allah above the lies of Christians
All of them will be held accountable for their libels

Oh cross worshipers…for what reason is it exalted
and blamed who rejects it?

Is it not the logic to break and burn it along with the one who innovated it?

Since the Lord was crucified on it…and his hands were fastened to it?

That is really a cursed cross to carry…so discard it
Don’t kiss it!

The Lord was abused on it…and you adore it?
So you are one of His enemies!!

If you extol it because it carried the Lord of the worlds

why don’t you prostrate yourself and worship graves,

since the grave contained your god in it?

So, Christ worshiper, open your eyes,
this is what the matter is all about.

High Exalted be Allah above the lies of Christians
All of them will be held accountable for their libels

I guess you are a Muslim with the bolded above..

If Quran confirms the virgin birth of Jesus, have you ever asked yourself what that means?...let me tell you something you don't know but implies by Quran.
It means Quran confirms Jesus is the son of God because it (Quran) confirms no biological (human) father gave birth to Jesus. Joseph was a foster father.
It means Quran confirms Jesus was a special human being (a man without a biological father).
It means God had a son without a wife because God didn't had sexual intercourse with Mary. God only used Mary's womb not Mary's egg. In essence, Mary was a 'surrogate' mother of Jesus, not a genetic mother of Jesus.
The mistake of many people who don't believe in Jesus is that, they think God is limited by the limitations of man. You asked who was in command in heaven when Jesus was on earth, if he (Jesus) were to be God. Our God can can make himself visible on earth, and still be in control in heaven. God is not a matter that can only be in one place at a time. He has the power to do anything he wants to do. That is why he is God.

There is no concept of redemption in Islam, so you can't understand what it means to give ones life for another. Hence the reasons for some of those questions you asked.
..and by the way, your Allah is not the same God Christians worship.
If Allah has no son because he has no wife, and Quran implies God had a son in Jesus through a virgin birth; then you should ask yourself if that Allah is still the same God.

Greek John 4:23-24 The God & Father ho Theos is a spirit.
Greek John 5:37 The God ho Theos NEVER came to the earth.
Greek John 1:1, John 14:1, only the Father is ho Theos.
John 3:16... Ho Theos the God sent his son Jesus Christ.

Argue against Jesus Christ. grin

Greek John 5:37 The God ho Theos NEVER came to the earth.... when God visited Adam and Eve in the garden (Gen 2:22, 3:cool, in what form do you think He visited them?....God visited Abraham (Gen 18:1-33) in human form. God even ate Abraham's food.
Greek John 1:1, John 14:1, only the Father is ho Theos. ...and the Word was God...and the Word (God) was made flesh... 1:14
Greek John 4:23-24 The God & Father ho Theos is a spirit. Yes, God is a spirit that has the power to make Himself visible (Col 1:15). Jesus was the image of the invisible God.
John 3:16... Ho Theos the God sent his son Jesus Christ. Isaiah 8:6-7...unto us a son is given.....and his name shall be called ...mighty God...
The name of God is Jesus ...John 17:6...I (Jesus) have manifested thy (God) name unto the men....
Argue against Jesus Christ...If you understand the word of Jesus....you will know that God is the only one that give man eternal life. God said man shall die in the garden....and He (God) is the only one that can provide a solution to eternal death. Jesus is the son of God because he is the visible form of the invisible God.

sonmvayina:
Immanuel was isaiah's second son. The son was a sign for king Ahaz, it was an assurance for king Ahaz, that his kingdom will survive the threat posed by Syria and the northern kingdom..

It has got nothing to do with Jesus.

The so called virgin was isaiahs wife, she was impregnated by Isaiah himself.
If you continue to read, Isaiah 8:18 says " I and the sons the lord has given me, we are for signs and potents for the children of Israel...

No Jesus.

Where is your reference for concluding Isaiah second son is Immanuel?
Isaiah 8:18 has nothing to do with virgin birth, is reference to vs 7:3-4 and 8:3-4.
Isaiah 7:3-4 3 Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field; 4and say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.
Isaiah 8:3-4 3 And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz. 4For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
The names of the two sons of Isaiah mentioned in the Bible are Shearjashub and Mahershalalhashbaz.
The reference was mentioned in Matthew 1:23 because Jesus birth was the only virgin birth the writer knew about.
Religion / Re: Who Was Called Immanuel In The New Testament? Jesus Prophecy Busted! by Correxs: 2:58pm On Feb 19, 2022
You asked "Who was called Immanuel in The New Testament?" The purpose of the name Immanuel is to reveal the nature of person that will be born by a virgin woman. It does not mean that the Jews at the time of Jesus have to be calling him Immanuel; the name (Jesus) the people at the time would call him was given to Joseph. So in the New Testament, Immanuel was not meant to be people's first or second name. At the time, people who understood prophesy knew what the child that was born by a virgin was-God among humans.
Quran affirms that Jesus was born of a virgin:
Surah 3:47 She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allah; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is.
Surah 19: 19-21 He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy [i.e., son]." She said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?" He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.'" To ask if the prophesy could be of another person other than Jesus, is to openly deny what is written in your Quran.

Religion / Re: Did Jesus Ever Call Himself God In The Bible? The Answer Is No! by Correxs: 1:57pm On Feb 19, 2022
Your question is 'Did Jesus Ever called Himself God in the Bible?....I want you to understand Jesus did not show any of his nature as God when he was in human form Philippians 2:5-6 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God". So you don't expect him to be calling himself God when he was still in human form. But after his death and resurrection, he was called God by Thomas and Jesus did not rebuke him, John 20:28 "And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God."
When Jesus appeared to Paul (formerly Saul) on his way to Damascus, Acts 9:5 Paul asked..., Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:..You can see Jesus answered Paul as the Lord.
Stephen was martyred mainly because he called Jesus God before the Jews. Acts 7:55 ...and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God (Jesus in the position of God), and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Because Stephen said he saw Jesus in heaven as God...the Jews reacted by killing him. vs 59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. If you noticed Stephen was calling on the name of Jesus as God even at the point of death.
Note: After the resurrection of Jesus: Thomas, one of the apostles called Jesus God; Jesus called himself Lord; and Stephen at the point of death called Jesus God. These are just few references from the Bible where Jesus is revealed as God. I advise you read the Bible to understand its message, rather than reading it to defend the message of Quran.
