@ Cosplay & Ipfreely, I care to know which Car both of you drive if at all you have any (no insults) but certainly not a Brand New Cars.
I have a friend with so much enthusiast for Cars. He did more than what both of you are doing right now. When he wanted to buy his 1st Car, he searched the length and breadth of Lagos, spent soo much money on Autocheck Report, after soo many months he went Pre-order way but the landing cost was far over his budget for a Clean Title Accident Free Car .
At the end of the day when Reality dawn on him, he settled for a Salvage Car. It's 5years and the Car still drive perfectly. Don't make it look as if Salvage Cars are death traps and not fit to be on the road. This person is a well known NLer on Auto Section.
This Audi, if it's not road worthy it won't be used in America for another 7years despite having unibody damage. This report clearly showed Odometer rollback occur in US too as this is a typical example.

1. There is nothing wrong with salvage vehicles when they're repaired to standard and the buyer is aware of the history even before any inspection.

2. So because odometer rollback occurs in the US, we should...I don't quite get your point. What, we should all encourage it? If you didn't know, odometer rollback is a federal felony, not even a misdemeanor charge. If incest happens in the US, we should all be incestuous as well? Moot point.

3. I've come to understand that the process for recertifying salvage vehicles isn't even as vigorous as I had assumed. Turns out in some places it's quite lax. So yes, this vehicle could very well have been used all that time and not be repaired to standard.

4. I don't own a vehicle, don't even own any automobile of any kind, don't even have the finances to afford any automobiles at all. cheesy

5. As for your friend who did more than what whoever did whenever, the best of luck to him, to each his own.

As Ipfreely mentioned, the severity of the accidents isn't the issue here.

The issue is the 'accident-free' the seller mentioned.

The accidents weren't severe, as a matter of fact. One involved a curb and the other involved same axis damage at low velocity and wasn't disabling.

Accident free is free of accidents. Major OR minor.

If you wish to continue to try to twist the term to suit your interpretation, that's your business.

This is actually a good purchase.

It indeed has a clean title. Because it wasn't salvaged.

Just to clarify again that

Absence of salvage DOES NOT mean absence of major accidents.

Just to clarify,

Accident-free refers to a title and vehicle history with NO accidents.

Lack of salvage history DOES NOT make a vehicle Accident FREE!

Don't be fooled by this Clean Title this, Clear title that.

Run your vehicle history reports, do your thorough vehicle physical inspection, and don't depend on the absence of a salvage title.

For those that think absence of salvage means that a vehicle is accident free, please don't be misled.

A lot of accidents even when severe do not get reported to Insurance companies to keep the title 'clean' and resell for higher value.

A car can have extensive damage and still not be salvaged.

AutoCheck clearly indicates multiple accidents and these ones are here twisting absence of salvage to mean accident free cheesy

You realize that a can can have devastating and extensive damage and not be salvaged?

If the vehicle owner had no insurance, or if the insurance company wasn't Informed and the owner fixed the extensive damage himself of course the car wouldn't have a salvage title.

It would still be severely accidented.

The term “Accident-free” indicates or refers to a car that DOES NOT have a SALVAGE HISTORY. After running a VIN check on the VIN the OP provided, I can confidently say the OP is right - THIS CAR IS ACCIDENT FREE!!! It has no “salvage history”

From your quote, I believe you are just going on people's thread to escalate issues that are minor. Abroad, a little dent or break on your car is reported as an accident(side mirror,bumper,lights etc) not like Nigeria where you don't count it as major. Accident-free as it's claimed here has NOTHING to do with salvage. If the intention were to indicate the absence of salvage history the sellers would clearly state that.

You can all try to twist the grammar and turn and mould it to suit your designs, but this vehicle is NOT ACCIDENT FREE. It's right there on the report.

It's certainly not salvaged, but it sure is not ACCIDENT FREE.

It would be a different thing if the seller claimed clean title. This is a clean title because it's not salvaged. But this is not a clean history.

This is NOT ACCIDENT FREE.

Keep twisting the English to suit you.

All the photos are unnecessary. All you needed to do was include just one photo of your VIN sticker with the VIN visible.

As far as I'm concerned this could well be a Flooded or even a stolen vehicle. 40 photos of this vehicle in Quebec are unnecessary.

Just one photo of the VIN sticker.

You could even type the VIN out if you prefer that.
