TravelRe: How Come Nigerians In Canada Don't Like Each Other? by couchsurf(f): 3:49am On Jun 18, 2011
I am an adopted Nigerian and proud to be called one:  I have close friends back in Naija and they struggle with this problem of distrust among our people.  For this I am sorry.  After reading the entire thread, I realize that Nigerians have become much like 'us' Black African Americans ,  who mostly fend for ourselves, however we do raise our children to become 'community and global activist' ,  at least I have.  Each of us can make a mark on this earth by leading by example ,  so just 'Do You' and be a good example to others without putting yourself in harms-way.  Be mindful and leave a Positive Legacy, regardless of anothers 'injustice'!!!

I have been on that site as well as in person to extend my visa here in Nigeria. When I extended my stay here in Nigeria it cost me $100.00 per month. I feel that I was scammed when I paid 46,000 naira for the extension and just received a stamp that this person claimed my passport was sent to Abuja of which I doubt that happened. I do not know what an immigration office look like here in Nigeria, but the one he took me to did not look official by any means.

Hello All,
I need advice and help with getting a temporary Nigerian resident permit. I am a visitor from the USA and this is my first time in Africa; a much anticipated visit that I have always planned and here is the scenario;
I have been in Nigeria on a visit since December '09 and actually volunteered in a couple of places while here. In January '10, I desired to visit Ghana and went to the Ghanaian Embassy in Ikeja and was given a list of consular requirements that stated among other things that;

*Residents: Include a copy of resident permit
*Non-residents: Must present a booked return ticket from Ghana to Nigeria.

I got all the requirements including the return ticket and when I got back to the embassy a week later, I was told that the non-resident requirement is no longer valid and I must now present a copy of my residence permit. I have a multiple entry permit to Nigeria valid for 6 months.
As I do not reside in Nigeria permanently, I need to know how to go about getting a "temporary" resident permit if there is anything as such.
All sincere advice and suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.

Greetings Nigerians,

I am visiting your country and have been here 3 months, I now feel like a true Nigerian!  I have lived the local life and though it was a bit rough, I hung in there.  So I have 2 more months to go, and I want a T-Shirt to proudly say how I feel about Nigeria!  Can somebody help a Sistah Out?
