Romance / Cheating Boyfriend- Special Edition For The Ladies by cover9ja: 4:09pm On Jul 31, 2018
I am sure a lot you would have questioned yourself or friends why men cheat or the reason they cheat. Probably for a few of the reasons listed below. To understand men better, we can just take a peep into their minds and explore a few reasons why they behave that way.

1. To avoid intimacy: That feeling of absolute intimacy and emotional attachment that makes them vulnerable might want to be avoided. So, they distance themselves by cheating. They feel it wouldn’t make them too emotionally attached and vulnerable. I think it just ends up hurting them both because if you’re already thinking of not becoming “emotionally attached”, You’re attached already.
2. They crave intimacy: On the flip side, some men search for that absolute connection outside their relationship. They need a gap to be filled and find for it elsewhere. Some couples might drift apart due to lack of communication and intimacy.
Their libido needs a boost: In the beginning, they couldn’t get enough of their partner, but as time passed; things became comfortable and they need a boost and the feeling of newness.
3. They want control: Some men do this because all the power and control become theirs once they cheat; all the ball is in their court. They feel all manly and great- that high that they can do whatever they want and make the woman susceptible to them.
4. They lack willpower: Some men are just plain weak (Morse). They can’t resist the touches of other women; even if their mind is not supporting it- their body betrays them. They give in to an affair simply because of opportunity and they can’t say NO. “why’d I let that pussy pass me by?”

Politics / Restructuring Nigeria: A Mere Parameter To Remedying The Country’s Cancer by cover9ja: 9:41pm On Jul 30, 2018
The inherent political inclination of man sheds light on his ceaseless quest to ensure his robust subsistence by instituting viable societal structures. Evolution of governmental paradigms that has seen the emergence of democracy and its widespread assent is a testament to humans’ relentlessness in the pursuance of holistic development. Democracy’s propagation by many nation-states today is far from incidental, because its very essence is primarily hinged on the people and their all-round welfare. Commendably, Nigeria jumping on this bandwagon in 1999 was at that time reminiscent of a new dawn in the country’s existence. But the democratic framework has been scuttled for reasons not unrelated to avarice, nepotism, tribalism, and improbity, the very same set of factors that were the bane of and led to the fall of the first republic (Nigeria in its structured form). It is indeed mind-boggling that most Nigerians presently brandish “Restructuring” as a way out of our national misery without rich consideration of what could possibly impede its efficient operation. Restructuring would be just a temporary relief measure if moral bankruptcy in the national system is left unattended to.

In recent times, the Nigerian news space has been saturated with calls for modification of currently practiced federalism–where states are juxtaposed with and seem to be overdependent on the federal government–and a reinstatement of the previous order of quasi-independent regions alongside a central government. It is argued by proponents of restructuring that such a political alteration would curtail the evils of marginalization, ethnic friction, religious bigotry, underdevelopment, and usher in a healthier Nigeria. Meanwhile, the agitation for the unreserved independence of the prospective Western, Eastern, and Northern regions has not gone unnoticed. Also, some Nigerians have contended that practice of “true federalism” is capable of dealing with the clogs in our national wheel. In as much as these suggestions sound like a good idea amidst prevailing status-quo, their potentials are very likely to be truncated if a fundamental mental reorientation of Nigerians is not embarked on through what I call Values Education.

Basically, things are falling apart in this part of the globe due to deficiency of good, patriotic values in the citizenry. This state of affairs has gone on to reflect in such unfortunate occurrences like corruption, tribalism, nepotism, religious fanaticism, terrorism, etcetera. Steven Covey, in his book “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People,” underscored the mind as the starting point of creating anything in our physical world. Thus, the mental precedes the physical. Going by that logic, it follows that the creation of a better Nigeria or society is dependent on the creation of a better mental disposition herein. And this is exactly what Values Education aims to do. Values Education is the sustained conscious injection of wholesome ethical codes in a group of people, and in this case, Nigerians. Persons who encounter it are fed with positive values (like integrity, transparency, accountability, gallantry, justice, consideration of the other, self-control, patriotism, and so on), belief-systems tailored toward promoting the well-being of the country.

Values Education should be included in the curricula (as a subject taught every term and semester) of educational institutions in the country at all levels. And as for Nigerians that aren’t literate, the mental reorientation campaign can be done through village groups in the local dialect. More so, these rehabilitative ideas can be disseminated through Churches and Mosques, which entails the incorporation of religious leaders in this proactive move to displace values in their adherents that could be counterproductive to nation-building. Lately, the Lagos State Government has considered this measure and officially kick-started it by reaching out to religious leaders in the state to help rejig the existing moral fabric.

However, the route to Nigeria’s promised land has been proposed as restructuring, true federalism, and secession. The contention of each of these seem plausible but there is a big question mark on their capacity to take us there in the absence of a mental restructuring and reorientation. At this point, Values Education is our nation’s knight in shining armor. Its antithesis has led to the prevalence of so many social evils today that plague our individual and national well-being. Since such warped indoctrination has been effective in midwifing negativity, which has partly seen the Boko-Haram terrorist group burgeon and corruption fester, counteracting it with a well-tailored conscientious orientation is reasonable. Our journey to that place filled with milk and honey requires it.

Romance / Scars To Your Beautiful- A Script For Self-love by cover9ja: 2:36pm On Jul 30, 2018
Scars to your beautiful is the name of a hit song by Alessia Cara. In the song, Alessia pinpoints with accuracy the pains of beauty, what (Cover girls) people go through in looking a certain way just to be accepted by the society.

Daily, beauty is being compromised and its definition reduced to vain stuffs and stereotypes. Sadly, people are made to look a certain way to be accepted, people are made to uphold impossible beauty standards which are unattainable. All these, when inevitably unreached leads to depression, low self-esteem, self-hate, and even suicide.

Scars to your beautiful by Alessia is one brazen reminder that beauty is not a one narrative fits it all, it tells the world in an unapologetic way that beauty truly has no shade (light, ebony, melanin, white, chocolate, brown, vitiligo, albino or black skin), beautiful is not a kind of definition (curvy, fat, tall, petite, short, thin, round, dwarf, endowed or less) and neither is beauty perfection.

In this generation, the brunt mostly falls on the feminine gender, women are taught that beauty is pain, so they go through ludicrous procedures to feel beautiful. Women are made to wax their eyebrows and poke themselves in the eyes with a mascara wand, made to go under the needles to enhance their butt, made to stuff in silicone into their bodies just to be termed as endowed, women are made to put on uncomfortable heels that causes pains to the muscles, made to suck up all the pains caused by hair extensions.

Dark girls are made to see their skin as dirt and whitening as beautiful and even the market is flooded daily with damaging lightning creams and beauty products to hide spots, acne, body moles, stretch marks etc. which are all natural and nothing to be ashamed of.

The media also dangerously promotes these beauty stereotypes in adverts, fashion fairs, Beauty blogs and magazines, and these tends to pass subtle messages to people that they should adjust to what is been showcased as Beauty.

Wait a second, do you really love you?

Do you think that it is worth it going through pains, skipping meals, going on steroids, going under knives and needles and buying those expensive beauty products to hide your scars just to be accepted and tagged beautiful?

Do you know that your personality outshines beauty?

Do you know what really matters is what you think about yourself?

Do you know you are still pretty like the other girls with that imperfection of yours?

Your body is what is keeping you alive, and what's more beautiful than that...Your scars are proofs of what you have been through and that's to show how strong you are. You don't have to stuff your face daily with chemicals and beauty corrector, you are absolutely beautiful in your natural state. Your quirks are amazing, those weird things about you are what makes you differently beautiful.

Who gets to decide what is beautiful?

Who gets to set these standards, and what do you really care?

Perfection is exhausting.

Beauty is subjective.

We should all be taught that beauty is more than what appeases the eyes.

You don't have to change a thing about you.

What really matters is what you think of yourself and nothing else.

You are beautiful just the way you are.

We are all stars and we are beautiful.

Technology Market / Uber Patent Uses Artificial Intelligence To Detect If Riders Are Drunk by cover9ja: 7:40pm On Jul 29, 2018
Uber’s Patent now has a feature that uses AI (artificial intelligence) to tell if its riders/ passengers are drunk, just by the way they use their smartphone.

The ‘predicting User State Using Machine learning’ patent is targeted towards identifying people in an abnormal state from factors including the number of typos made, walking speed, and who precisely a customer clicks on buttons and links on their phones.
The patent stated that ”User behavior may be against the user’s prior behavior to determine differences in the user behavior for this request and normal behavior of prior requests”. Systems can also alter the parameters of a service based on the prediction about the state of the user requesting the service”.

This means that Uber drivers can refuse to carry passengers in an inebriated state. Critics also pointed out that the feature could be used by drivers to identify vulnerable passengers.

Uber stated that ”We are always exploring ways that our technology can help improve the Uber experience for riders and drivers. We file patent applications on many ideas, but not all of them actually become products or features.”

Family / When Life Experiences Give You Peace In The Midst Of Pieces by cover9ja: 8:31pm On Jul 28, 2018
My life presently is far different from what I envisioned back in 2007. I was living in Maryland, USA, enjoying entering my 30s. I had my own apartment, a great job, and I had just purchased a brand-new vehicle. I wondered if I would get married, but I remember not feeling “pressed” about the subject matter. I remember feeling a sense of accomplishment and security for the first time in my adult life. I finally accomplished what I often wondered and worried about concerning, if I would be able to take care of myself, if I will be single most if not all my adult life.

The tale shifted, and everything changed again. I married someone that I knew for 13 years. We dated only for a few months prior to marrying on Friday, August 10, 2007 and I remember that day very well. It was a very quiet day. I spent the entire day by myself. I also even remember standing in the hallway of the church with my Dad and not really feeling nervous. When I walked down the aisle and looked at the man that I had called my friend, there was never a fleeting thought in my mind that the relationship would be one of the hardest things that I would ever endure.

Technology Market / Slack Acquires Hipchat, Plans To Shut It Down by cover9ja: 5:27pm On Jul 28, 2018
Slack made an announcement of its plans to acquire Hipchat, a primary competitor to its workplace chat service, from enterprise software giant Atlassian Corporation PLC, an Australian enterprise software company that develops products for software developers, project managers, and content management.

In agreement to the partnership with Atlassian, Hipchat will be shutting down and the two companies will work together, moving all its Users over to Slack. The same goals also go for Stride, the chat and collaboration successor to Hipchat that Atlassian launched last year.
Atlassian has clarified that Slack is only buying the intellectual property behind the two products and the two companies will be working on future integrations together.

Also, Atlassian will also get a small stake in the startup, while Slack pays an undisclosed amount over the next three years in order to have full acquisition of HipChat and Stride user base.

HipChat users now have the option to use the service until February. They will also be guided to transition over to Slack.

Politics / Political Propaganda In Nigeria- The Common Trend by cover9ja: 12:34am On Jul 26, 2018
Richard Alan Nelson defines propaganda as a systematic form of purposeful persuasion that influences the emotions and actions of a specified target audience.

The messages of a propagandist are never objective, it is always distorted, biased, full of facades and aimed primarily at influencing the target audience which is the gullible masses.

Propaganda in Nigeria's politics is as old as man. Propaganda is deeply rooted in the system, literally, there is a strong affinity with politicians and propaganda.

Sadly, in Nigeria there has never been an election held without its candidate practicing propaganda, or cheap stunts with the aim of appealing to the emotions of its gullible citizens.

Intermittently, the emotions of Nigerians are being toyed with in pathetic manner. Whenever votes are needed, Nigerians are made to think in a certain kind of way, stunts are being pulled out effortlessly by these propagandists. Whenever it is campaign time, they try to identify with the poor masses, you see them forming empathy in ways that are appalling and comical.

The internet is usually littered with pictures of candidates displaying different shades of Shenanigan like street hawking, gutter cleaning, IDP camp visit etcetera, but you don't see them on the streets doing all these again after they are voted in. In fact, they become opposite of their every campaign strategy that Nigerians cheaply fell for.

History will never forget 2015 elections when Haija Aisha Buhari was spotted frying Akara on the streets as her own campaign strategy just to appeal to the emotions of gullible citizens so that they can vote her husband Buhari in. Aisha's Akara stunt was a deliberate act by her to aid her husband's victory, but where is Aisha today?
After her husband won, has she ever been spotted frying Akara again? Well, we all know the answer.

Rt. Hon Rotimi Ameachi, the previous Governor of Rivers state was also spotted pulling same cheap stunt at identifying with the low-income masses during the 2015 Rivers governorship election. This is no longer surprising as it has become a trend among political office holder during election season.

In Ekiti, as at 2015, Ayodele Fayose was also seen on public bikes and in local restaurants. Rochas Okorocha of Imo state also pulled same stunt during his re-election where he took to the streets to roast corn so that onlookers can take pictures of him and then see him as that one person that has love for the streets.

Another noteworthy comical act was that of Gov. Ambode. Ambode was busy patronizing street hawkers as a campaign strategy, but shortly after he was elected into office as governor of Lagos State, he banned street hawking and placed a sanction on street hawking.

The list is endless and their antics and many more are undying. It is even becoming more worrisome because 2019 election is just by the corner and the trend has resurfaced.

The media is buzzing with their pictures, the likes of Atiku Abubakar is seen everywhere with his patronizing tweets, even Omoyele Sowore was recently spotted with a wheel barrow hawking fruits, more like him (Sowere) becoming a new wine in an old skin bag.

They are coming back again as expected with their shenanigans to fool the gullible, they are here again with their desperate campaign stunts and false promises just to win our votes.

This time tell them that Nigerians will not be fooled again.
Nigerians have gone past their theatrics.
Tell them that we have seen through their facades because this time we would vote for character, integrity, credibility, and vision.

This time Nigerians will vote for the one with pure intentions and understanding of what leadership is.
This time Nigerians will vote to be served.
This time our votes will count.

Literature / Nnedi Okoroafor To Write Marvel Comics’ Shuri, Cover Revealed by cover9ja: 9:36pm On Jul 25, 2018
Shuri, Black Panther’s sister from the Marvel Comics series is getting her own standalone comic book.

The character who was played by Letitia Wright in the Marvel Cinematic Universe live action blockbuster released earlier this year has gone on to gain global acceptance and fandom as she lit up the screens in both the standalone Black Panther movie as well as the Avengers: Infinity War iteration.
The announcement has caused a tremendous wave of excitement all over social media.

Even more exciting news is that speculative fiction writer and author Nnedi Okoroafor, who had already written comics ‘Black Panther: Long Live the King’ and ‘Wakanda Forever’ is the one tasked with the job of writing the comic.
The Nigerian writer best known for her work in Afro-futurist fiction who has already been shortlisted for this year’s Nobel Alternative Prize for Literature announced the good news on her twitter handle (@Nnedi) days ago: “Announcement: I am writing Shuri. Black Panther’s sister is getting her own comic book series and it is happening so so soon.”

Marvel Comics had previously shared the news on their official website.

The official announcement is quoted below:

“Shuri will bring a domestic conflict to the princess’s table. “While she is the most at home in her lab, working to keep her country at the forefront of science and technology, Wakanda is missing its leader.

“Without T’Challa around, Shuri will have to decide if she will forego her own passions in order to stand up for her nation,”

In a chat with Bustle A United States -based women’s magazine, Okoroafor said, “Shuri is an African young woman of genius level intelligence. She is obsessed with technology and has traveled spiritually so far into the past that she’s seen Wakanda before it was Wakanda. The Ancestors call her Ancient Future. And she’s super ambitious. What do I love about her? All that and more,”
Nnedi Okoroafor
Nnedi Okoroafor’s stories are usually centered around women and girls with inspiration drawn from indigenous roots. She is regarded to be the perfect fit for this project. She won the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa.

Her first novel “Who Fears Death,” is a recipient of the 2011 World Fantasy Award for Best Novel as well as 2011 Tiptree Honor Book. The novel also picked up a Nebula Award.

To top off the accolades, “Who Fears Death” was picked earlier this year by HBO to be adapted into a TV series to be produced by novelist George R.R. Martin. The comic series will center around Shuri few months after the events of Black Panther movie, in line with the timeline of Ta-Nehisi Coates’ Black Panther comic book series.

Two days ago, the cover art of the comic series was revealed, and was created by Sam Spratt (@samspratt), the artist who designed Janelle Monae’s Electric Lady album.

Technology Market / No Robot Killing Machines- Elon Musk, Deepmind, And AI Researchers Pledges by cover9ja: 1:50am On Jul 24, 2018
Elon Musk and some of the most respected Artificial Intelligence researchers concluded that they will not build robot killing machines.

A public pledge was made, stating, that they will not build any ”lethal autonomous weapons”. Signatory to the new pledge include founders of Deepmind, a founder of skype, and leading academic from across the industry promise not to build any technology that will be used as killer machines.

They also advised international government to do more by regulating and restricting the use of any autonomous killing machine, amid fear that any country in possession of such weapons could lead to armed race and will contribute to making the world unstable.

During the pledge they also stated that the decision to take a human life should never be delegated to a machine. Currently, machines are being used in battle fields today, but experts are concerned that in the future technology could be entirely autonomous and would be able to kill humans without any intervention from other people. They believe that such situation will create a lot of problems.

They also warn that autonomous killing machines could also be more dangerous than ”nuclear, chemical and biological weapons”, since an arm race could easily run out of control and international organisation won’t be able to control such situations.

they pledged never to take part in the development, manufacture, trade or use of any lethal autonomous weapons.

The pledge has been signed by 170 organisations and 2464 individuals.

Foreign Affairs / Trump May Revoke Security Clearance For Ex-intel Chiefs by cover9ja: 12:14am On Jul 24, 2018
Press Secretary Sarah Sanders reveals during press briefing that President Trump is contemplating stripping 6 former intelligence and national security officials of their security clearances citing monetizing of security clearance.

These former security officials cited include: Former CIA Director John Brennan, Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, Former FBi Director James Comey, Former National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe and, Former NSA Director Michael Hayden. However, two officials on the list, Comey and McCabe appear to no longer have security clearance.

The announcement came after Sen. Rand Pau of Kentucky got out of meeting with Trump. He revealed via his twitter page that: “I restated to him what I have said in public: John Brennan and other partisans should have their security clearances revoked.”

Sanders during press question and answer session revealed more to the reason President Trump is taking such actions. She reiterated that past officials who still hold such clearance use the opportunity to acquire lucrative consulting positions outside. Sanders also maintained in her words “When you have the highest level of security clearance, when you’re the person that holds the nation’s deepest, most sacred secrets at your hands and you go out and you make false accusations against the President on the United States, he says that’s something to be concerned with.”

This news has received several backlashes from the people who are of the opinion that if President Trump goes on with the revocation it would show further reckless use of power.

Foreign Affairs / Donald Trump Warns Hassan Rouhani, Iran President by cover9ja: 6:49am On Jul 23, 2018
Donald Trump sends strict warning to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stating clearly that he would face strict consequence if he keeps threatening the United States.

Rouhani has over the past few months after President Trump withdrew from the Iranian Nuclear deal continually expressed his displeasure with the actions of the United States against the deal it broke in 2015.

However, during a short briefing with Iranian diplomats, Rouhanni cautioned president Trump that "America should know that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all wars", "Mr Trump, don't play with the lion's tail, this would only lead to regret."

Trump who wasn't feeling the needless threats by Rouhanni took to his twitter page to issue a stern warning of the consequence of making continuous hostile threats: "NEVER EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKE OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE."

The heated exchange of words  between President Trump and President Rouhani was due to the United States Withdrawal from the international deal meant to prevent Iran from developing its nuclear program and issued order to increase American sanctions.

Romance / 4 Signs Your Relationship Is Headed For Its Final Bus Stop by cover9ja: 3:50am On Jul 17, 2018
We all love love, don’t we? For the very mushy of us, it’s hard to deal when our love lives have hit the rocks. Sometimes we find that the magic has petered out but we cannot quite detect the causes. Here’s a disclaimer before you begin: This post is based on personal opinion. Any resemblance whatsoever to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely by coincident, magic, miracle, or witchcraft.
Let’s get to it.

If your partner starts to behave like “we’re best friends, that’s it.”
Ideally, your other half is supposed to be your best friend. However, you still need to have the urge to bunk them on a moment’s notice – but let’s face it, it’s natural, even if you don’t actually indulge in the act. You should be addicted to each other like hard drugs. Of course maintaining passion at the same level for an extended period of time is an uphill task; it can fluctuate, and it can be there one day, gone the next, never to return. But chances are if the latter happens, and just after three weeks, it starts to feel like you’ve been dating for ages, you’re probably going to break up. There’s just your best friend who you accidentally ended up dating for a bit.

“He’s an asshole, I have low esteem”

If your partner is needy and you’re aloof, you’re in for a shitload of frustration. Take it from someone with ample experience. I’m not saying Ying and Yang don’t work anymore, but as a wise woman once said, “never date someone you have to mother.” Relationships are compatibility. Of course differences are welcome, and can be complementary, but more often than not, people at extreme temperamental poles are recipes for disaster.

“Class and Cash, baby!”
Class and money creates divides that no one likes to talk about because we’d like to think we’ve moved past it but that’s only denial. It’s funny because everyone has this idea of women going after rich men to become trophy wives. My people, I’ve seen the opposite happen. I’ve seen
girls become cripplingly insecure about their own status and feel stressed when they
couldn’t contribute financially. It comes down to having different lifestyles. If you date
someone who makes a shitload more money than you, chances are they go out to eat more,
they travel, they go to movies and concerts. They do all of these things you can’t afford to
do. So when that happens, you have to ask these questions, “are you comfortable scaling down your lifestyle for me, or am I okay with you paying for a lot of things?”

A Major Case of Inequality

People often say that in relationships, one person always has to love the other one more. I
used to think this was true but now I think it’s bullshit. If one person isn’t meeting the other person halfway, or at least making attempts to, then, in street-speak:
Na scam.
I once dated one fine sister like that, it was clear that if I was a flaming red, she was pale pink. Worst thing, she couldn’t make up her mind to break things off, and I decided I’d make do with what I got. The end of us was a huge mess.
Do you have any more pointers to a failing relationship? Let us know in the comments.

Education / Why Nigeria Needs Educational Consultancy by cover9ja: 7:52pm On Jun 08, 2018
One of the biggest demons plaguing education in Nigeria today, the one-dimensional nature of learning stands out. There is a painfully glaring dearth of innovation in the curricula across all levels of educational institutions within the country and the African continent at large, as more and more emphasis is placed on paper qualification. As a consequence, students now race all the way to convocation gowns equipped with only tired old linear approaches on their academic paths.

Over the years, political leaders have consistently labelled Nigerian graduates as unemployable, yet there seems to be a complete lack of ambition of academic veterans to take Nigerian institutions to internationally competitive heights. As a result, the education industry in the country has fallen far below standard, and the glory days are well past behind; the world has moved on, and Nigerian institutions are in desperate need for new ways to revamp its failing state.

Enter strategic academic consulting.

Generally, educational consultants are often viewed as mere career counselors for student admissions. Their role in education however, covers a great deal more scope. They are closely involved in driving institutional growth by conceptualizing and developing strategies to optimize resources for sustainable success across educational institutions. An education consultant’s skill set also includes getting families to maximize their wards’ chances of being better placed and supported in their preferred choice of schooling as well as informing the families of opportunities which they would not have been aware of otherwise. Therefore, with every inflection point comes a tactical fulcrum, which in this case means the country’s ivory towers need to fast-track their attempts at raising the bar for academic excellence. This is where firms like Crystalinks Education, with the bold promise of bringing world-class education to your doorsteps come in.

As our society and technological advances become more complex by the day, learning follows suit. Schools have to review and tailor their teaching methods to prepare students for the challenges of the fast-paced nature of the 21st century. Education consultants fill this need by researching on and developing more dynamic educational techniques, practices and technology to classrooms and lecture theatres across the continent. By employing smart, pragmatic strategies, education consultants can move the Nigerian institutions from a place of just struggling to survive, to the point of actually thriving. The role of educational consultants in promoting educational methods also cut across student enrollment, success, engagement, transformation, and solidifying organizational leadership.

Educational consultants are often people who possess extensive knowledge about various institutions, career paths, and career opportunities for students. The play a significant role in maintaining a curriculum across institutions by identifying student needs and limitations, and supplying solutions, improving school environments and pedagogic methods, holding school meetings, ensuring stability in school timetables, as well as monitoring teacher performances. They are also in charge of developing instructional materials and providing instructors with additional support, regulating current technology-assisted learning methods, and coordinating educational content.

By serving as education improvers, these education consulting firms aid in determining competitive edges to make tactical forays into dynamic learning techniques, conduct research into new and existing pedagogic settings and turn insights into meaningful, measurable outcomes to make for a demographic of scholars that is market-ready, employable, and knowledge-driven.

Times are changing. Nations like UK, US and India understand this and have evolved ways of turbocharging the learning and research experience in their countries. The result? Their globally acclaimed standings as education heavyweights. While Nigeria struggles to catch up with global education standards, the burden should not rest on academic institution’s stakeholders (e.g., vice-chancellors, administrative officers) alone.

There is urgent need for a more hands-on approach achievable through integrating and forming strategic partnerships with more educational consulting firms in order to enhance academic excellence, thus effectively talking a step further in measuring up to global benchmarks. The federal and state governments, universities, and independent professional associations need to collaborate with educational consultancy firms that offer dynamic value-added analysis of prevailing issues in the educational sector and work together to enhance collective improvement and encourage institutional effectiveness.

It is common knowledge that education is key to nation building. Therefore, countries that want to develop should know how to turn this key. Working with education consultancy organizations can bring fresh perspectives to local institutions by creating partnerships with globally renowned academic organizations that will look good for the educational culture among students, staff and affiliates alike. This will guarantee a more holistic approach to solving the problems that plague the nation’s educational system, then hopefully we can launch into an era where tag “unemployable graduates” is reduced to mere historical allusions.

In conclusion, Nigerian educational systems need to realize the urgent need to join hands with institutional leadership to study and harness the immense potentials of educational consultancy in the development of a thriving learning culture, in order to create a new academic community and improve on a dated pre-existing framework that is in dire need of overhaul.

Romance / 4 Signs Your Relationship Is Headed For Its Final Bus Stop by cover9ja: 5:15am On Jun 05, 2018
We all love love, don't we? For the very mushy of us, it's hard to deal when our love lives have it the rocks.

However, youstill need to have the urge to bunk them on a moment’s notice – but let’s face it, it’s natural, even if you don’t actually indulge in the act.

Crime / A Nigerian Yale Student Was Racially Profiled For Napping In Dorm Common Room by cover9ja: 12:26am On May 10, 2018
Lolade Siyonbola, a first year Yale student was caught napping in the dorm common room by a fellow white student and she called the cops on her.

The white student had asked her to leave or she would call the cops on her which she did.

According to Siyonbola, she was working on a paper when she fell asleep in the common room. A female white student came in, turned on the light and told her, "You're not supposed to be sleeping here. I'm going to call the police."

Before the cops arrived Siyonbola already pulled out her phone and was recording the situation via Facebook live video.
