Christianity EtcFear Of Ember Months: Who Is To Blame? Demons Or Man by Createu(op): 6:55pm On Oct 23, 2018
The 'ember months' in Nigerian parlance are September, October, November and December. These months are characterized with a lot of myths and analogies. Many from Southeast have nicknamed these months MBA which is a translation for the word, NO.

Many religious circles believe that the devil is active this period and looking for blood to suck. They vehemently believe that "principalities of the dark world" work overtime to ensure people don’t see the end of a year and beginning of a new one.

To this end, Nigerians are ‘spiritually sensitive’ at this period. There are always a battalion of spiritual programmes, crusades and events all hoping that the last quarter of the year ends in glory.

It doesn’t help that there are a lot more road accidents and crimes in and outside Nigerian metropolis.

Interestingly, this is not peculiar to Nigeria. All around the world, the festivities bring about a renewed urgency. There is crime and accidents and chaotic events. But it appears that the ones that happen in Nigeria have spiritual undertones.

Do you think that this is a myth or can it be scientifically proven?

Yearly, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) embarks on an Ember months’ campaign to educate people on the habits of good driving as well dispelling the notion that demons cause road accidents.

The major reason why there is an increase in Road Accidents is that more people travel more during the “Ember Months” than any other time.

Logically, if 2 road accidents happen in 10 travels because of bad roads. It is almost imperative that 10 will happen in 50 travels.

Many easterner travel during this people to visit families and conclude businesses for end of the year.

About the notorious increase in crime, it is believed that more people are under immense pressure to celebrate Christmas and appear big when they visit their families at the end of the year.

This again is very peculiar with Igbos.

Also, the truth is remains that there is usually an increase in the tempo of public, private and corporate activities during this period. Religious bodies are equally not left out of the frenzy of the season as they organize various events during the period. The ‘ember’ months are always the busiest on our roads for obvious reasons and the tumultuous air of festivity do not really help matter.

Sadly, law enforcement agents are also involved in the mad ‘ember’ months’ fiction. In a bid to make extra money to furnish special festive ‘necessities’, they usually engage in treacherous .compromise that encourages law breakers to go scotfree.

PoliticsI’m Not A Magician To Solve Ekiti Problem In A Day – Fayemi by Createu(op): 3:26pm On Oct 22, 2018
The Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi has lamented that he can’t make the challenges facing the state to disappear in one day.

Speaking at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital on Sunday, Fayemi said he was not a magician who would make the challenges facing the state to disappear.

The former Minister of Solid Minerals said, “Yes, we know there is a huge expectation from width and breadth of the state and we won’t disappoint them.

“I am not a magician but a child of the Almighty God because some people believe all the challenges facing Ekiti state will disappear within a day. Yes, By Almighty God’s grace, it will surely disappear.”

Commending the Catholic church for their “unwavering support, ”Fayemi said, “Our emergence is to make a difference in the life of Ekiti state and the lives of our people, to serve and not be served and to show that the power of the people is greater than that of those in power.

“We have a lot of work to do and this is a collective rescue mission, to reclaim our land and restore our values, so we seek Ekiti people’s cooperation.”

Politics2019: Buhari Is Unfit To Run Nigeria – Dino Melaye Slams Buhari by Createu(op): 3:20pm On Oct 22, 2018
The Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, on Monday described President Muhammadu Buhari as a failed president, who can’t govern Nigeria.

Melaye made the remark while rubbishing the re-election bid of the president.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain stressed that Buhari destroyed a thriving economy that was handed over to him by the previous administration.

In a tweet, Melaye wrote: “APC’s sycophantic minions are congenitally pollyannaish. It is the reason why they’d want a second term for an incompetent man who destroyed a thriving economy that was handed over to him.

“Buhari has shown, in words and deeds, that he is unfit to govern.”
