Hello mum's and docs in the house. Please help �o. My son is about 4 months ths old. He's been having nasal congestion since almost birth but now it has gotten worse. (We believe he took it from his dad who has sinusitis). It distubs his breathing alot especially at night and when eating. During omugwo, my mum was using hot water with napkin close to his nose.
We've been to 2 hospitals several times regarding it. We were asked to use mentol crystals in hot water for him, vitamin c, Amoxil suspension and chlorpheniramine syrup but they don't seem to relieve him. What can I do? I don't want to go back to the hospitals. Please help a ftm

get into an enclosed space, i prefer kitchen..put kettle with long spout on boil , find a way to suspend cotton wool you hv put several drops of silver bird ointment and baby rob above the spout of the kettle..so the escaping steam from the kettle hits it. close all doors and windows allow steam to form and engulf the whole place for 10 to 15mins go in with baby, and ensure the steam enters babys nose........15mins inside should be ok...do same morning and night....

if all this is too much trouble, you can search for vicks humidifier or any other good humifier on amazon, it uses electricity 600watss and produces non stop steam and vapour..this will dissolve any congestion in babys air passages

all ETC docs was required to be sent via email ------that was during the peak of covid, so it was easy then to email soft copies of everything. do they require hard copies now?

there is this other form to use if husband is in prison/offshore etc...thats what we used. {it was in the peak of covid, and they were not attending to anybody for notary}..but with the delay passport didnt come out on time, so we applied for ETC and used it to come back to nigeria. US peeps sent back our application asking us to provide notary and mail back within 3 months. so within the 3months we kept checking and the US ebmassy in naija opened up dates for notary and we quickly got that done and sent vis dhl to our host in usa, who then packaged everything and mailed back to the passport people....

baby passports was issued some months later

original huggies still remains the best, but very expensive..over 24k for a full carton of about 150 pieces. stay away from nigerian or south african huggies, those sold for 4k for a pack. they dont hold waste well, and leakout.. kisskid handles faeces better than urine...it gets very very swollen and heavy with urine......other than that its decent n well built

kisskids is decent at 5k or so, asda little angels is about the best bang for buck about 6k for 80pieces

Adult milk (full cream) is OK for babies above 1. Sometimes those children milk like 123 are soo sweet it makes babies stool.

ok, so i still wonder why manufacturers made baby milk for ages 1 to 2yrs and 2 to 3 yrs, if adult milk can fill same niche............
my personal belief is that it may be ok, but not optimal..........................correct me if am wrong. aptamil or sma gold/pro isnt too sweet, its that peak 123 that is known to be too sweet

why adult milk, when there is baby milk for her age? there is stage 3 baby milk for 1 to 2 yr olds...giving an infant adult milk, is a waste if you ask me

Please is it safe to travel by road (private car) with a 2 weeks old baby from Kogi to Lagos.

the distance is too far, at that age..they are too small forbaby car seats, and cos of safety, you can carry them in your arms...then again..the airline type bassinets, which are used for long trips, isnt safe in a car, incase of a crash or potholes...if you can find a way to secure the baby, lying down on her back..best option then. ..my recommendation is to go by air....the possibility of the baby sustaining long term damage is there....all because of of few thousand naira

If he pees alot, actually to me, its good. As for the cough and catarrh, for me, I use sheer butter for my kids, melt it, give him little to lick/drink. Rub some on his chest and nose,it works for me, I don't know for others and it was an old woman that taught me back then which I do use till date. I do use honey as well, it works like wonder, it clears cough. Give him to lick and also mix with his drinking water. Believe me it works. And Pls just be careful on the drugs you give him, he is still a very little baby and a delicate system too. I wish him quick recovery

honey isnt good for infants below 1yr...according to doc google. it causes a serious illness called botulisim, pls shina ya eyes and research more

Please my lo is 3weeks and 4days old, she passes a lot of gas and her tommy makes a lot of noise, she is uncomfortable most times and doesn’t poo everyday like she used to sometimes for two days. My breast milk supply isn’t much atall till now even after taking a lot of pap, oats and staying hydrated so I co-feed her with peak 0-12 months infant formula. I also give her water sometimes. Please what can I do to ease the discomfort? Her pediatrician told me to get infacol colic relief but it’s really scarce here. Is it possible the formula or what I’m eating is what is making her constipated? How often should I give water since she isn’t exclusively breast feeding yet. Can I switch formula? If I can to which one?

you need a document called FIT TO FLY, issued by a doctor in a govt or recognized hospital, the date of the document must not be more than 1wk b4 the flight, best 2 to 3 days b4.

so been to the hospital, and they are not saying anything useful.
prescribed anti biotics, didnt help. some of the pimple like rashes develop to full blown boil with pus inside, and painful to baby.

you prefer that, than getting the naija passport for the baby?. its emergency travel certificate, not electronic. the nigerian consulate is working now, you can contact them for either. naija passport is better, IMO

i am thinking of having an extra room in the duplex dedicated solely to power/inverter battery installations etc. and the space will also serve as my study. since am not sure yet of the type of battery i would be using, but likely 12 to 16 pieces or equivalent of 12v 200ah fla batteries, wi would think such weight would be better suited on the ground floor, and not subject the decking to the stress of carrying such a dead weight, however,..i would prefer my study to be upstairs, hence my dilenma. so hoping the house can throw useful suggestions on what they think is the best location with reasons.

pls, this Fit to Fly, i heard 3 versions ..
1. all airlines accept the one from port health at the airport
2. some airlines accept only from their recommended hospitals
3. you only need it if you are over 8 months.

USE KAYAK and search for cheap tickets, wakanow and travelstart also have cheap tickets, tickets for lagos to newyork cheapest i have seen recently is $840 return, wch is cheap enuff in my book. from newyork if your luggage is small, you can use spirit airlines or southwest airline and fly to NC, for small money usually less than 70 dols

bed rest and progesterone is one of the sure remedies for early pregnancy spotting. take time off work, and just lay in ed, minimal or zero house work, am suprised your doc hasnt placed u on that

British airways for example , on their website flight is about 600k, while same flight is abt 400k on kayak, expedia etc..
2ndly i dont see any naira option on kayak, so you pay with usd card or what?..

3rdly, hv you ever tried making adjustments to flights booked tru kayak and co?...
Cos will need to add baby ticket on dw return ticket at the apprioprate time..
