My brother this is a bitter lesson. I forgot to mention that on my way back the second time car completely went off in the middle of the road, turned out they did not even screw on the battery correctly. That workshop isn't worth the price they charge atall!!!

Wow, i came to this car talk section to search for transmission for my 08 MDX. Never knew there were others that have had bad experiences at radautoworks. I also had a bad experience last week. I will start from the beginning. This is gonna be a long one.

I came back one day and noticed my fan was still running after i turned off the engine. I checked radiator coolant and it turned out that somehow ATF fluid has gotten mixed up with the coolant in the radiator, which was causing the car to overheat.

Because i didn't want to drive the car far with that condition i took it to one local mechanic workshop close by where the guy working on it told me my radiator was bad that was why coolant leaked into the ATF compartment and the fluids mixed up. All these while transmission was shifting fine, the guy drained the bad transmission fluid and i bought a new radiator and a carton of honda ATF z1 for flushing. He said i should drive it for sometime and bring it back for more flushing. I drove the car more than 95km after that without any single issue. Only thing i was worried about was the colour of the ATF which still hasn't completely returned to normal although was much better than before. And there was pent up pressure which releases when you pull out the ATF dipstick ( like sssshhh).

So I decided to take car to "Pros" for the second flush and use that opportunity to give car proper treatment, turned out that was a mistake.
I went to radautoworks workshop(carquest) paid the fee and explained my issue. They said they were gonna take it for a test drive, me i was hungry so i went to mega chicken for breakfast, when i came back i asked how far, that was when i met mr Glenn, he said he was afraid to take it for a test drive because of the colour of the ATF, and he noticed pressure when he pulled ATF dipstick, i said i noticed it too. I explained everything to him again from the beginning, he asked if the transmission was shifting fine i said yes. he said if that's the case then all they have to do is flush and add some treatment to prevent slipping, i paid about 14k for the bottle of treatment plus other charges.
Strange to hear that the 10k diagnosis fee is deducted from charges because clearly that was not my case. Nothing was deducted Everything i paid was around 40k including the 10k diagnosis fee.

Anyway, after everything i picked up the car the fluid was clear, and mr Glenn assured me he test drove the car and everything was perfect, for my mind this is money well spent, i proceeded to drive home, on getting to shoprite sangotedo transmission started acting funny, In traffic it struggles to engage to first gear, and it does not go above 4th gear plus "check transmission" light popped up for the first time ever since i bought that car. I was enraged , I immediately put out a call to radautoworks but no answer, i assumed they've closed for the day. I just managed to drive it home slowly like that.

By the next morning my anger has calmed. I proceeded to radautoworks workshop, surprisingly transmission was shifting perfectly fine on cold start, but along the way same issues started, turned out transmission is ok when engine isnt yet very hot but after driving for sometime the wahala will start. on getting there mr Glenn said all they did was flush, but that they will check, after every they said its the transmission temp sensor (or something like that) that it was dirty but they've cleaned it and it should be fine. On driving home still same issue. na wa ooo, which kain wahala did i use my money to buy like this car that was driving very fine upon all the driving until it got to that workshop

Well to cut the story short, they suggested i replace the gear and i pay half the workmanship, na him i say make i come here confirm price first, but lo and behold there are other people with similar experiences, What the heck is going on!!!

i had meant to take the cars much much earlier, but i live in festac and Radautoworks is after lekki second gate. over 4 hours on a good day.

you may ultimately have a different experience from me, but i CANNOT recommend them

Until you blatantly lied I was more than accommodating and courteous to you as I am to everyone- until they attack my integrity. Everyone gets my respect upon meeting, it's up to them to keep it.

Now, for those who don't understand how the English language works, my point was why would he sell a 2007 acura mdx if he had spent only 400k for the car+200k on repairs for it? At 600k, it made more sense to keep the car and finish the repairs and not give up on it. To further help those who struggle with the English language, the sentence was immediately followed by "I would not recommend selling it". Then I realized the 400k he posted earlier was not the cost of the car and I corrected it but of course the Cartalk cabal can't resist violence and willfully misinterpreted it.

So there you go, these three paragraphs should give you kids another week's worth of circle jerks.

I thought everything was over after GAZZUZZ completed what he promised to do on the vehicle. Apparently, your post suggests you don't seem to think so. Not that I blame you. I may have the same sentiments if I had the kind of negative publicity you have tried to deal with recently, not to talk of the personal attacks you have had to endure in the process.

Before I continue, let me take this opportunity to apologize for any comments I made directly that may have gotten you upset. You quoted one of my comments up there. You seem to have a problem with it. I am not sure why considering that it did not suggest any untruth and there was no malicious intent from me. Anyways, I apologize for that too and if you want me to take it down, I would so peace can reign.

On the subject of attacking your integrity, I am trying to recall where or how I did that. Please if you have any posts I made that attacked you directly let me know and I would clarify and also apologize for it. If you want me to take it down, I would also. I know I have made comments about Glen that suggests he was lying about a transaction that took place. I apologize for calling him out but please note that all I said about him continue to be true. I never made any false claims about Glen. To prove this, please send me a private message and I would show you what transpired.

To the point of you calling me a liar, I would appreciate it if you would show me comments I made that you consider lies. I would hope that you also let me know why you think I am lying and if there is a need, I would clarify and/or send the evidence to you personally. The only one I can think of right now is the issue of my damaged rear differential and suggesting that Glen purchased the items used for its repairs. On this, I appeal that you send me that private message, and I will show you what transpired. I promise not to make any of our private conversations public.

I am working from home today and can make out time to respond to your queries if you have any. It is my sincere hope that we can be friends despite all that has happened. For me, they are water under the bridge. I do hope you can let go too.

The blood curdling attacks on this thread and the other one belies the ages/level of maturity of most you guys but what do I know ? I've met aunty Radu a couple of times at her workshop and she's a really nice lady who knows her onions, very courtious and respectful. I don't hesitate to recommend people to her. I've spoken with oga gazzuzz a couple of times on phone, sometimes you can even hear the tiredness in his voice at close of work but he'll still respond to you with respect and attend to you properly. If these people are really your friends, then I don't think there's any reason for you to set fires of enemity between them. This whole situation could have been handled better but that's water under the bridge now, let's not make things worse than they are. It's just part of the downside of business, it happens
