Well, regardless of the source of the information; whether reliable or unreliable, I think it is the responsibility of the management of NDDC to formally publicize the cancellation of the 2017/2018 scholarship scheme with REASONS the same way they publicize the temporary suspension of the exercise in order to clear the backlogs of debts owed earlier scholars (which they have not concluded), in the national dailies last year. Not until this is done, there is no amount of action staged by the participants in the last year's scholarship exercise that can be justifiable within the existing laws of the country. We all have are various constituency representatives in both the state and federal houses of representatives + the senate. Immediately the commission announces the cancellation of the 2017 scholarship programme without viable reasons, we should quickly send petitions to our various representatives and senators and see if they will just write-off the petitions without thorough debate on the contending issues. Thank God they recognised that the transport stipend is our right; they should also recognise that it is our right and their duty to inform us on the REASONS behind the "Cancellation". For now, lets just cross our legs and wait until the cat is formally let out of the bag.

I don't think PTDF is accepting lawyers for the UK scholarship this year, I'm yet to hear of any lawyer that was shortlisted

I guess those that were shortlisted were based on first come first serve process. applied towards d deadline and wasn't shortlisted....any1 here that applied around January and wasn't shortlisted

I applied almost immediately the portal opened and I uploaded ALL the required documents. I wish I know why I wasn't shortlisted

PTDF applicants are assessed in 6 categories:

1. Research proposal: It must be relevant to O&G industry and national development.
2. Degrees: classes of degree e.g. 1st class, 2.1, 2.2.
3. SOP: To know your motivation, why you want the scholarship and work experience etc (mostly for Masters).
4. Int'l and national awards: To know what you have achieved through academic brillance.
5. Publication: To show your research ability/output (mostly for PhD applicants).
6. Professional membership: To give credence to your profession.

The interview which doesnt last more than 5 minutes is just to show proof of the above and few questions to be asked with regards to proposal/SOP.

Exactly my thoughts, I think the mail was sent to people who hadn't selected an interview centre before

I think the mail was only sent to people who did not pick their interview centre before. I picked mine when I applied, I didn't get any mail and when I tried to login it shows that the portal has closed.

Today is May 8.
NDDC promised to sort out all scholarship issues before the end of May.

I was invited for the fair and I attended at Darty hotel in Uyo.
I dont really know what you want to confirm. This is what I can say...
I saw Mr Godson there. He either owns or is a top executive at Marg Education.
To the best of my knowledge, there was no link between the education fair and NDDC except that Mr Godson was involved.
I asked him about the NDDC Scholarship and he answered based on the fact that he was the consultant that organised the entire (till now inconclusive) selection process. He however mentioned that the cosulatant will pay us the transport fare but the money will be taxed.
Based on that, it could be inferred that Marg education in which Mr Godson owns or whatever is the consultant that organised the selection process.
Whatever the case I think it is immaterial. Let us pray for the list to be released this May.
My two cents.

I was invited as well but I didn't attend.
My guess is they got our mail addresses during the NDDC selection process and added same to their mailing list. I do not think it has anything to do with the NDDC scholarship. Let's just hope the list comes out within the next few weeks.

I called a friend to inquire for me how much it is now. He said it's 15k for the transcript. I don't know if the price is too much. I think it is tho. if you can try to make inquiry, it'll help us confirm. know anyone in school that'll help?

Mine is the official copy (don't know how the student's copy is gotten), it cost 15k when I got it I think the price is still the same, my friend got hers this year.

The transcript in question, is it the soft copy or hard copy? My school only gives student's copy to students. Original copy is sent to the university you're admitted in directly. I'm talking about UNN. Any UNN student here that has applied or has collected his/her transcript should please give me details on how you went about it. Thanks

I'm a UNN alumnus. I got my own two years ago, very easily. I applied and paid online putting in the address of my PPA as I was serving that time. When the DHL agent came, I just collected it, scanned it and I've been using it since then.

Hi Guys,
I've applied for the PTDF MSc scholarship, but I haven't finished my NYSC yet. Until June.

We are supposed to upload NYSC certificate but just see if you'll be lucky because the portal is expected to close before you pass out.
