Emefiele is the worst CBN governor. He is my village person on my mother's side, but the truth has to be said. A drastic and a collosal failure. Zainab Ahmed the minister of finance is also a waste of space. I would prefer adeosun to her a thousand times. Atleast that one was intelligent to a good extent. Zainab is a dunce put there to share money to ministries and go home. |
What Nigeria needs is someone that can drastically reduce corruption while restoring the ease of business and economic dynamism that PDP brought to the economy. Don't change the economic policy of the PDP too much. It works. Just tweak it a bit by reducing waste and corruption drastically. That is why Peter obi appeals to me. He is the only one I have seen with the right blend of economics and integrity. |
Even their vice president is better than Nigeria's vice president. Vice president Bawumia spearheaded the year of return that brought billions of dollars to Ghana and opened Ghana to world. |
Compare the competence and qualifications of the members of president Akufo Addo's team, and that of Buhari. And Akufo Addo wins 10/10. It's not even rocket science. |
PHijo:The AFCTA is not an investment. Most times smaller countries get those political edifices to give a sense of netruality and belonging. The EU headquarters is not Germany. It's is in Brussels, Belgium. FIFA is in Switzerland. Those are associations, not investments. Twitter is an investment. I don't see any special infrastructure in Ghana that Nigeria does not have. We have the bigger tech sector, the bigger pool of skilled engineers, e.t.c. Twitter is not going to Ghana to enjoy infrastructure. It's Africa after all. What Ghana has going for them is policy. Sound business policy and and an athmosphere that welcomes investment. In Africa, that is key. Africa is made up of shit hole Countries, but sound policy will make you stand out. Investors will be willing to manage your poor infrastructure. That was what Nigeria used to enjoy years ago. Sound economic policy and climate that investors can bank on. It's gone now. During the end sars protest, members of the Buhari govt were threatening Twitter. One abokii even sued them in Nigeria. That is not infrastructure deficit. That is just poor business climate. |
Crtitcise PDP all you want, but they were pro-business. They are highly corrupt, but they were smart enough to just let business run itself. The PDP logo was bribe us as much as you want, but once you are in, we will not disturb your business or investment. We will try and help you succeed. As bad as they were, it was still better for the common man than now. GDP growth rate of 7% is not a coincidence. We were the largest recieprients of foreign investments in Africa just less than 7 years ago. Right now, I don't think we will ever get to the largest in West africa, let alone compete with the likes of Rwanda and Kenya. Rwanda is on beast mode. |
In the next decade, Ghana is going to compete and outcompete Nigeria for foreign investments including that of Nigerian investors. There is a significant anglo-speaking rival in our region. If we don't get ourselves in order, policy wise, we are fucckked. Are you a software developer and you say you will not vote for an Igbo man. It is only APC or tinubu you know. Na yourself you dey do. The jobs that should have come to you now has gone to Ghana. Make una continue o. |
lexy2014:Nigeria is like Ichabod. The glory has departed. |
Osinbajo went to silicon valley, but silicon valley are no fools. They know what they want. Nigeria has the most skilled software engineers in Africa. It has the manpower. Twitter should be coming here by default. We shouldn't even need to attract them. But if the Federal policy is bad, all the above will be irrlevant. And jobs that should come here will be lost. You all need to get Peter obi to run to salvage this country. Nobody else in the current political space would do. |
Tremple8v:A perfect example of how the Buhari govt discourage foreign investments. |
Right now, it is incredibly difficult to send dollars to Nigeria. Thanks to the CBN under Buhari. What America and Europe have been trying to curb for their own interests, the CBN of Nigeria did it for them with ease. |
If I were a ghanaian, my greatest prayer would be an APC Victory for Nigeria in 2023. Our growth rate of 7% as at 2014, cut to nothing by the Buhari govt. You are building rail, but Killing the country with poor economic policies and instability. |
budaatum:Twitter is not choosing Ghana for the infrastructure. Infact Nigeria has a much more advanced tech ecosystem than Ghana, most of which was built by the Nigerian Private sectors. Twitter chose Ghana because it has a progressive govt with stable policy system. President akufo addo has a world-class team. At this rate, If we don't start electing progressive govts, we would lose it all to Ghana. |
Governance has consequences. Positive and negative consequences. The Nigerian govt under Buhari is still fighting our tech sector. Don't worry, all of them will move to Ghana. |
Kindledlight:Let me catch you on this forum calling atiku or any politician a thief again. I don mark your name. |
If you own your own thread on nairaland,is seun going to share the traffic money with you? Website will never be replaceable. |
Kindledlight:I hope you are not fooling yourself sha. |
NinjaMetahuman:What is his achievement? I think we have said that over and over again. If I start listing it again, I doubt it will enter your mind this time. Na tinubu the thief your mind dey. |
NinjaMetahuman:Peter obi. If Pdp chooses him. I don't support people based on tribal politics. |
Pdp should run with Peter obi. Let Peter obi run against tinubu so that it would be a clear case of light against darkness. And then we will see if Nigerians value their Future or will mortgage it on the altar of ethnic and party politics.. If PDP runs with someone like atiku, there would be no clear difference between him and tinubu. |
I can forgive people for voting Buhari. The guy was masquerading as a man of integrity. He was a very simple man atleast during campaign, so it was easy to make mistake. Tinubu is not hiding anything. He is already showing you that atiku would be a learner compared to him when he handles our treasury. He that has ears, let him hear. If you value your children's Future, vote right. Don't vote for party. |
If you like vote for tinubu in 2023 because of tribal or party reasons. Then come back here and ask us "how did we get here?". Na sango go kill you. |
MrJames007:Go and sit down |
franchasng:I keep hearing this so I had to research it. Hepatitis B is not more dangerous than HIV. What is more dangerous than something that attacks your immune system? Many people are living healthy with hepatitis without taking drugs. Infact, it's not everybody that will need drugs. Can you say the same for HIV? And hepatitis B is transmitted in many more efficient ways than sex Most people that have it didn't even get it through sex. |
yusluvad:And the govt too. They are both murderers. |
MrJames007:A very stupid question. Did they impregnate themselves? If it was men that get pregnant, would this still be your argument? If your sister get pregnant out of wedlock and wants an abortion, won't you be grateful that your family has access to proper doctors that can help her? Do you know how many females are dying every year to improperly carried out abortions? |
Neutralobserver:We don't have enough health professionals in all sectors, it doesn't mean we don't have people to do it. So what is the alternative? Allowing it to remain illegal so that more girls will keep dying? Do you Know how many lives would be saved by legalising it? All those complications you listed are also happening now. Infact, it is worst. With legalisation, many of the deaths would be avoided. You cannot stop abortion. The best we can do is to legalise it so that people can have access to proper care if they can get it. |
Neutralobserver:There is nothing complex about an abortion. It's not a complex procedure. We have the professionals to do it. They just don't want to lose their medical licences and go to prison. |
Neutralobserver:Well abortion on demand carried out by unqualified people is killing our women. People will always abort. It's time they legalized it and make it safe. Their body, their choice. |
MrJames007:Is that the most important thing? Or the fact that in this 21st century, abortion is still illegal in Nigeria? |
Why are women in Nigeria not championing for legalisation of abortion? Don't they value their own lives? The men will not do it. It does not affect them. It's not men that made abortion legal in the United States. It was women that fought for it. |
We need to make abortion legal in Nigeria so that qualified professionals would be the ones to do it. It would save countless lives of females in this country. I lost my childhood friend to abortion. Up till today, we still don't know the guy that impregnated her and made her go for abortion. |
