Family / Mistakes You Should Avoid While Trying To Get Pregnant by ctdrugs: 4:01pm On Jun 30, 2020
Couples trying for a baby may not be well acquainted with certain mistakes they should avoid while trying to get pregnant. The trying to conceive period can be emotionally challenging and physically draining as well. For some couples, getting pregnant is fast and simple while for some, it could be difficult and stressful. Although, this does not necessarily mean that the couple is infertile, it could probably be due to certain mistakes they should avoid while trying to get pregnant. These mistakes that should be avoided while trying to get pregnant include the following:

Timing your ovulation period wrongly: This mistake should be avoided while trying to get pregnant. Your ovulation period is the best time for you have sex for pregnancy to occur. There is a fertile window in woman’s menstrual cycle when she can get pregnant. It includes few days (3 to 5 days) to your ovulation and on the day of your ovulation. Ovulation predictor kits like Predicte ovulation test kit can help you confirm your ovulation period well.

Unhealthy lifestyle choices: Lifestyle choices have a great impact on your fertility. Unhealthy weight (underweight or overweight), bad habits like smoking, drinking, use of illicit drugs, caffeine can have negative impact on your fertility. Stress and depression are inclusive as well.

Assuming the challenge is with you: This another mistake that should be avoided while trying to get pregnant. Most times, fertility challenges are usually focused on the woman. Before the woman takes the responsibility for the fertility issue, the man should be assessed as well. About 40% of infertility issues are due to the woman’s problems, another 40% is due to the man’s problems and the rest are due to unexplained factors. The couple should be assessed by a fertility specialist before treatment commences.

The use of poor lubricants: The mistake of using poor lubricant should be avoided while trying to get pregnant. In a bid to solve the problem of vaginal dryness, couples may go for lubricants which are not sperm-friendly and dangerous to the sperm. Some of these lubricants such as saliva, water and mineral oils can kill the sperm on contact and prevent it from reaching the egg. Preseed vaginal lubricant is the right solution in combating the problem of vaginal dryness as it is a sperm-friendly vaginal lubricant which mimics natural cervical mucus thereby creating a suitable environment for the sperm to thrive and swim as it journeys towards the egg for fertilization. You can as well go for cervical mucus supplements like EVERGREEN CM . It boosts the production of fertile quality cervical mucus and boosts libido in women.

Waiting too long to see a fertility specialist: In some cases, seeing a fertility specialist sooner rather than later is a very good move. A couple can be said to be diagnosed of infertility if they have been trying for pregnancy for over a year without success and as such they may decide not to seek help until they have crossed the one year mark. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. If you are 35 years of age or older and you been trying to get pregnant after six months without success, it is advisable you see a fertility specialist OR, if you are younger and you have irregular or heavy periods as well as menstrual cycle lengths of less than 21 days OR longer than 35 days you should see a Doctor. If you have also had a history of ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), sexually transmitted infections or other health issues that may affect your fertility, you should seek help from a specialist.

Sticking to one sex position: This mistake should be avoided while trying to get pregnant. if you think sticking to one sex position will boost your chances of getting your pregnant, then you are wrong. This is because there is no evidence that suggests that a certain sex position increases your chances of getting pregnant. During ejaculation, the sperm swims out and goes directly into the cervical mucus to the Fallopian tube for fertilization. This occurs irrespective of the sex position during sexual intercourse. So, you should not worry and have fun baby making.

Irregular Sex: One of the mistakes couples make trying to get pregnant is not having enough sex. If you are planning for pregnancy, you should be aware of your fertile window as this is the best time for you to get pregnant. Your fertile window consists of 3 to 5 days to your ovulation and your ovulation period. Some couples miss the right time.

In conclusion, now that you have found certain mistakes you should avoid while trying to get pregnant, your journey to conception should not be too difficult. Meanwhile, should go for fertility supplements like Evergreen formular for men and women including Evergreen EggBoost for women as they are recommended for Dad and Mums to be. Taking these fertility supplements will greatly boost your chances of pregnancy.

Family / Signs Of Infertility In Men by ctdrugs: 2:53pm On Nov 27, 2019
Signs of infertility in men are due to certain underlying conditions. These signs of infertility might appear vague until a couple is trying to have a baby. A couple can be said to be diagnosed of infertility if they have been trying to conceive for over a year without success. Most cases of infertility are usually associated with women. However, men have their own fertility challenges as well. The symptoms and signs of infertility in men include the following:
1. Hormonal imbalance: Hormonal imbalance is a sign of infertility in men. Problems with the testes that produces testosterone which is a key hormone for male fertility can lead to infertility in men. Luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone which signal the testes to produce sperm and testosterone are produced by the pituitary gland. Any problem with the pituitary gland can influence infertility in men.

2. Problems with ejaculate or ejaculation: Having trouble during ejaculation or noticing changes in the ejaculate such as drop in volume or no ejaculate at all can be a sign of an underlying condition associated with male infertility.

3. Erectile dysfunction: Hormonal problems, psychological factors such as low self-esteem, stress, depression and certain medical conditions which affect the nerves, arteries, veins and the anatomy of the penis can make it difficult to maintain an erection. If this occurs regularly, it could interfere with sexual intercourse or be a sign of infertility in men.

4. Changes in Testicles: Healthy testicles are very essential for male fertility. Small testicles could be a sign of infertility in men as studies have been able to associate them with decreased sperm production and low testosterone levels. Also, painful, swollen and tender testicles can signal an underlying problem such as inflammation, infection, testicular torsion (twisted testicle in the scrotum which causes an interruption of blood flow to the testicle) and varicocele (enlarged veins in the scrotum) can negatively impact sperm quality and male fertility.

5. Watery semen: A watery semen is an indication of low sperm count. Normally the sperm is a thick whitish fluid. Low sperm count Can also be referred to as oligospermia. You have low sperm count if your semen contains fewer sperms than normal. A sperm count fewer than 15 million sperm per milliliter of semen or a total sperm count of less than 39 million per ejaculate is considered below normal.

6. Obesity: Studies have been able to link obesity with male infertility. Obesity has been shown to be associated with decreased sperm production or may not have any viable sperm. It can also lead to hormonal problems and sexual dysfunction.

Have you been trying to conceive for over a year and experiencing these signs? You should see your Doctor for proper diagnosis to examine the underlying condition thoroughly so as to get proper treatment and recommendations depending on your condition. Meanwhile, if you are having low sperm count, poor sperm motility, morphology and quality, Evergreen formular for men can help you correct all these as it is a potent sperm booster. Health / What Does A Brown Discharge Indicate During Your Menstrual Cycle? by ctdrugs: 10:58am On Nov 11, 2019
It could be a worrisome when you notice brown discharge during your menstrual cycle in your underwear or when you wipe. However, brown discharge during your menstrual cycle is harmless and it’s mostly nothing to worry about. Usually, brown discharge is related to spotting in the days before your menstrual period begins or old blood from your menstrual period taking a longer time to leave your uterus.

WHAT CAUSES BROWN DISCHARGE DURING YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE?

Brown discharge can be referred to as cervical mucus which is coloured with old blood. As blood ages in your body, it turns to a brown colour instead of a bright red colour. The colour of discharge during your menstrual cycle changes due to your reproductive hormonal levels. A good knowledge of your menstrual cycle will help you understand the kind of changes occurring. During your menstrual cycle, you can be able to determine the cause of brown discharge by examining some symptoms and circumstances surrounding it. Probable causes of brown discharge include the following:

YOUR MENSTRUAL PERIOD: Brown discharge sometimes occurs when your menstrual period is about to start or at the end of your menstrual period. It could also occur as at the time you are menstruating.
OVULATION: Some women observe pinkish red or brown blood spotting during ovulation. This occurs due to changes in hormonal levels and when the matured egg leaves the follicle.
PERIMENOPAUSE: Sometimes, during the early stages of menopause, you might observe brown discharge or spotting due to changes in your hormones. These early stages of menopause usually begin after forty.
CERVICAL IRRITATION: Cervical irritation could occur due to gynecological exams, pap smears, sexual intercourse or placing objects into the vagina.
POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME: Brown discharge can also be a symptom of PCOS as it occurs with other symptoms such as missed or irregular periods, acne, weight gain and excess hair on face or the body. PCOS is a hormonal problem which causes irregular menstrual cycle.
BACTERIA VAGINOSIS: Bacterial vaginosis is a type pf infection which causes brown discharge. The main symptoms include a fishy smell which comes out from the vagina coupled with brown colour discharge. The condition tends to occur due to bacteria imbalance in the vagina.
ENDOMETRIOSIS: If your menstrual flow is very heavy, coupled with intense pain and brown discharge before and after your period, it could be a sign of endometriosis. Endometriosis occurs when the lining of the uterus begins to grow outside it to other parts of the pelvic organs such as the ovaries, fallopian tube or the cervix. You should contact your Doctor immediately if you notice any of these symptoms to prevent more severe cases of endometriosis.
OVARIAN CYSTS: When ovarian cysts burst, they could cause bleeding before or after menstruation, which could become a brown discharge when mixed with cervical mucus. However, there are other symptoms such as ovulation pain, painful sexual intercourse, weight gain, vaginal bleeding outside menstruation and difficulty getting pregnant. Some ovarian cysts are asymptomatic, and they only be detected through ultrasound.
SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES: If brown discharge comes with other symptoms like fever, burning sensation while urinating, pain during or after sexual intercourse or foul smelling discharge, it could be a sign of sexually transmitted disease as diseases such as gonorrhoea, chlamydia, vulvovaginitis can all cause spotting or brown discharge.

CERVICAL CANCER: Brown discharge can be a sign of cervical cancer in rare cases if it occurs with painful sexual intercourse, weight loss, heavy or more prolonged periods, breakthrough bleeding during periods or weakness. It is the most severe case of brown discharge.

In conclusion, brown discharge is mostly normal. However, you should be able to track your menstrual cycle and any other symptoms to know the right time to seek your Doctor’s help. Your Doctor would be able to explain what is happening to you and treat any underlying condition.

Family / Why Am I Spotting During Pregnancy? by ctdrugs: 2:12pm On Nov 08, 2019
Spotting during pregnancy is a common concern faced by a lot of women. About 20% of women experience spotting at some points during pregnancy. Light bleeding or spotting during pregnancy is common during the first trimester especially. It is usually lighter in flow than normal menstrual period. The colour also varies from pinkish red to brown. Although, it could be a cause for concern but there should be no need to panic as it does not always reduce your chances of having a healthy pregnancy and baby. Common causes of spotting during pregnancy include the following:

Implantation bleeding: Implantation bleeding is a common cause of spotting during early pregnancy. It occurs when the fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine lining around 10 days after ovulation. This can trigger a few days of spotting or light bleeding. This spotting could occur before a woman knows she is pregnant and could be mistaken for a pending period. Most women often notice pinkish red or brown spotting on their panties.

Cervical polyps: This occurs when there is a harmless growth on the cervix which is more likely to bleed during pregnancy due to higher oestrogen levels. This could occur because there is an increased number of blood vessels in the tissue around the cervix area during pregnancy. As a result, contact with this area through gynecological exam or sexual intercourse could cause bleeding.

Infections of the cervix (cervicitis): This can be referred to as an inflammation of the cervix commonly due to infections which can be caused by sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia and gonorrhoea or non-sexually transmitted infections such as bacterial vaginosis.

Cervical ectopy: This occurs due to the invasion of cells which are normally present in the uterus or cervical canal to the surface of the cervix. Because these cells are more delicate than the cells ordinarily present on the surface of the cervix, they have more tendency to bleed with very little irritation. This could be more common in women who have experienced vaginal childbirth in the past (stretching the cervix) and extended use of birth control pills.

Miscarriage: As miscarriage occurs mostly during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, it tends to be one of the biggest concerns with first trimester bleeding/spotting. Symptoms of miscarriage include brown or bright red bleeding, abdominal cramps and contractions and tissue or clot like material passing through the vagina.

Ectopic pregnancy: It is a medical emergency which occurs when a fertilized egg attaches itself outside the uterus. Light to heavy vaginal bleeding or spotting could be a symptom of ectopic pregnancy. Other symptoms include weakness and dizziness, sharp abdominal or pelvic pain and rectal pressure.

Placenta Previa: Placenta previa occurs when the placenta sits low in the uterus and completely or partially covers the birth canal. It is usually are and occurs during the late third trimester. A bleeding placenta previa which is painless is an emergency which requires fast medical attention.

Placenta abruption: This occurs when the placenta detaches from the wall of the uterus before or during labour and blood pools between the placenta and uterus. Placental abruption could be very dangerous to the mother and baby.

Uterine Rupture: In rare situations, a scar from a previous caesarean section could tear open during pregnancy. It could be life threatening and requires immediate medical attention.

Vaginal bleeding during pregnancy is any discharge of blood from the vagina which could occur anytime from conception till the end of pregnancy. Light bleeding or spotting during pregnancy is especially common during the first semester and it is usually no cause for alarm. It could be considered as spotting if you notice a few drops of blood in your underwear occasionally or if you wipe yourself with tissue and see little blood. Bleeding, on the other hand, is heavier blood flow. You would need a pad to keep the blood from soaking your clothes. If you are spotting or bleeding, you should see your Doctor and describe what you are experiencing to make sure everything is fine.

Yes! It is possible to choose the sex or gender of your next child. Thanks to advances in Fertility Medicine. Sex selection is an option for couples who want to avoid passing sex-linked genetic disorders to their children. It is also good for “family balancing” - That is for parents whose children are all boys or all girls and want to have a child of the other sex.

SEX SELECTION

Gender selection (also called sex selection) is a medical technique used by prospective parents who wish to choose the sex of their baby and have either a boy or girl.

METHODS OF SEX SELECTION

There are different methods of achieving your desired baby sex. The most accurate sex-selection methods are the most expensive (costing up to about 1 million naira and above) and often, you would have to undergo invasive infertility treatments and take prescription drugs that have potential side effects.

These invasive techniques usually involve collection of semen from a man. The sperm are then sorted into “boy sperms” and “girl sperms” in the laboratory. Then the desired sperm is used to fertilize the woman’s egg.

Here we will focus on the natural methods of sex selection, which are:

easier,
safer,
free (or low cost),
no side effects
also very effective.

HOW EVERY HUMAN BEING IS FORMED

The average human body contains approximately 37.2 trillion cells. And Every normal human being has 23 double chromosomes (i.e. 46 chromosomes) in each cell. The only cells in the body that do not contain 46 (23 double) chromosomes are our sex cells (i.e. sperm or egg). They have only 23 single chromosomes, which is half the number of chromosomes in a normal body cell.

For a “baby” to be formed, the sperm (23 single chromosomes) and egg (23 single chromosomes) must fuse together and form 46 (23 double) chromosomes.

HOW THE GENDER OF YOUR BABY IS DETERMINED

First, you must understand that a baby's gender is determined at the point of fertilization. Once the egg is fertilized and conception takes place, there’s nothing you can do to change the sex of the baby. So, before and up to the point of fertilization you have a say in the sex of your coming baby.

When a man ejaculates or releases semen, the semen contains both Male sperm (containing Y-chromosome) and Female sperm (containing X-chromosome), BUT in women, the egg released during ovulation always carries X-chromosome.

If X-Sperm cell meets the egg(X), the baby will be a Girl (XX).

If Y-Sperm cell meets the egg(X), the baby will be a Boy (XY).

baby sex selection

CHARACTERISTICS OF X AND Y SPERM

Y SPERM (MALE SPERM) X SPERM (FEMALE SPERM)

Moves relatively fast Moves relatively slowly

dies quickly within 24hrs can survive longer up to 5 days

Smallish in size Bigger in size

Note that: The Y-Sperm cells move fast but die easily (its lifespan is about 24hrs) while the X-Sperm cells move slowly but can survive longer (even up to 5days).

Therefore, if you have intercourse during ovulation or immediately after your ovulation, the Y-sperm (boys) will swim fast and will most likely get to the egg before the X sperm. Therefore, you will have a baby boy. However, if you have intercourse some days before ovulation (when your egg has not yet been released from the ovary), most of the Y-Sperm cells would die because there’s no egg to be fertilized and they only have about 24hrs to live. This leaves mostly X-Sperm cells, waiting for your egg to be released so they can fertilize it. The chances of having a Girl is therefore higher. One can almost conclude that it is easier to have a baby girl than to have a baby boy.

N:B – Ovulation is when an egg is released from the ovary. This typically occurs once in each menstrual cycle but in some women, it may occur more than once, leading to conception of twins or even triplets as the case may be.

To increase the CHANCE of conceiving a baby Boy, intercourse must be timed to coincide with ovulation.

For a baby girl, you should have sex around 3-4 days before ovulation

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR OVULATION DAY ACCURATELY

Most women will ovulate mid-way into their menstrual cycle. The release of an egg from the ovary can occur for up to 12-48hrS, but once the egg is released, it has only about 24hrs to live. If it is not fertilized on time, it will die. During the ovulation period, some women may experience symptoms such as:

breast tenderness or pain in the nipples,
increased sexual urge,
unilateral lower abdominal pain (i.e. pain on one side of the lower abdomen),
increased sense of taste and smell,
stretchy egg-white cervical mucus,
changes in basal body temperature, etc.

These symptoms can sometimes be misleading because some of them can also happen just before menstruation and in the early stages of pregnancy. A better way to accurately know your ovulation day is by doing a proper ovulation test using PREDICTE OVULATION TEST KIT. The test is simple and easy to use. Essentially, the required test sample is your urine. When you get a positive result from PREDICTE, it means that ovulation will occur in the next 24-36hrs. You can therefore time intercourse to increase the CHANCE of achieving the desired Baby Sex.

CHOOSING YOUR DESIRED BABY SEX

TIMING INTERCOURSE

If you’re trying for a baby boy, you should have sex on your ovulation day or immediately after ovulation. The idea is that since the Y-chromosome sperm are faster than the X-chromosome sperm, there will be more Y-chromosome sperm who reach the egg first, making it more likely that a Y-chromosome carrying sperm will fertilize the egg. Do NOT have sexual intercourse from four to five days before ovulation. Have sex only just at the time of ovulation and immediately after.  That is 24-36hrs after you get a positive result from your PREDICTE OVULATION TEST.

If you are trying for a baby girl, you should have intercourse only around 3-4 days before ovulation and abstain from intercourse until about 2-3 days after ovulation. The idea is that when you have sex a few days before ovulation, all the Y sperm must have died before an egg is released. Only the X-chromosome “girl sperm” will be left in the female reproductive tract waiting to fertilize the egg when it is released

SEX POSITION

If you’re trying for a boy, you should have intercourse that allows for deep penetration. A deeper penetration helps to put the sperm closer to the egg, thus reducing the time and distance needed for sperms to travel to the fallopian tube for fertilization. This gives advantage for the Y-chromosome (male) sperm to get to the egg faster than the X-chromosome (female) sperm. The “doggy style” sex position is ideal in this case.

Missionary position can also be effective, if the woman uses a pillow to raise her pelvis for deep penetration.

if penetration is shallow and the sperm is deposited farther from the cervix, the Y-chromosome stands less chance. (The doggy style is the most common way to get deep penetration while the missionary style gives a more shallow penetration).

HEALTHY SPERM and HEALTHY EGG

For any conception to occur, the male and female reproductive tissues must be in good form. Sperm and egg quality must be “on-point”. Sperm with low motility or poor sperm morphology may not be able to fertilize and egg. Men should avoid tight clothes and heating environment: heat kills off both types of sperm but will kill off the smaller Y-chromosome sperm faster. Supplements like EVERGREEN FORMULAR FOR MEN and WOMEN are recommended to boost sperm count, motility and morphology and increase the chances of fertilization and conception in all couples who are ready to conceive.

ORGASM

An orgasm is the moment of greatest pleasure and excitement in sexual activity. Female orgasm tends to increase the alkaline secretions in the vagina, which is believed to favor Y-chromosome carrying sperm.

That said, it is very likely that the woman trying to select her baby’s gender may experience vaginal dryness during intercourse. This could be due to anxiety from the need to get pregnant instead of enjoying sex. When vaginal dryness occurs, some couples use saliva or normal lube, which actually worsens the entire situation because saliva, water, jelly, or even normal lube are not designed to support fertility, so they can negatively affect sperm and reduce the chances of getting pregnant altogether.

PreSeed is the first lubricant specifically designed for couples that are trying-to-conceive. It is 'sperm-friendly' as it matches the qualities of your fertile cervical mucus so it provides a helpful environment to facilitate conception.

Family / Does Sperm Leakage Reduce My Chances Of Getting Pregnant? by ctdrugs: 8:56am On Nov 07, 2019
A lot of women complain about sperm leakages or sperm pour from the vagina after sexual intercourse. Most of these women attribute sperm leakage as the cause of their infertility. On a general note, sperm leakage from the vagina is normal and is expected when there is enough ejaculate. The fluid which comes out of the vagina after orgasm is a portion of the ejaculate with less than 5% of the ejaculate being the actual sperm and over 95% being a composition of other fluids.

Sperm leakage or vaginal reflux does not exactly cause infertility. However, it may lower a couple’s chances of conception. Here are some of the possible reasons of sperm leakage after sex.

#1.Bacterial Infection: If a woman has had a history of genital/pelvic inflammatory disease, her body may develop antibodies to fight the infection and accidentally harm the sperm in the process.

# 2. Low Quality Cervical Mucus: Thick cervical mucus makes it difficult for the sperm to swim though the reproductive tract, resulting in sperm leakage. Also, If the cervical mucus is scanty or lacking, it may be difficult for the sperm to reach through the cervix hence, a flow back sperm could occur.

#3. Dietary choices: Fertile quality cervical mucus is alkaline in nature. High intake of acidic foods could increase the vaginal pH which does not create a suitable environment for the sperm. This in turn could repel the sperm and cause sperm leakage as the sperm is alkaline in nature. Examples of acidic foods are processed foods and soda.

#4. Poor Sperm motility: Sperm motility is the ability of the sperm to move efficiently. This is necessary because the sperm needs to travel through the female reproductive tract to reach the point of fertilization. If the sperm can’t move efficiently through the female reproductive tract, this can lead to sperm leakage.

#5. Retroverted Womb: Women who have a tilted/retroverted womb may suffer from sperm leakages because the normal uterus is in an anteverted position which is more favorable for normal sperm movement into the womb as against a retroverted womb that obstructs sperm movement from moving into the womb. This obstruction can increase the likelihood of experience sperm pour or sperm leakage.

How you can manage Sperm leakage

#1 Take fertility supplements: Get fertility supplements like Evergreen CM which will boost the quality of your cervical mucus and Evergreen formular for men which will boost your sperm quality. They are recommended for mum and Dad’s to be. Evergreen CM is targeted to improve the production of fertile quality cervical mucus as this provides a suitable environment for the sperm as it travels through the female reproductive tract on its way to fertilization. On the other hand, Evergreen Formular will boost sperm motility and sperm count.

#2 Having an Orgasm: Orgasm is a period of intense sexual climax in a woman. This is accompanied by contractions of the pelvic muscles which help to pull the sperm into the womb. Reaching orgasm and ejaculating could increase a couple’s chances of conception.

8. Too much or too little Sex

The pressure to conceive pushes some couples to have too much sex or too little sex which sometimes have a countereffect on their pregnancy goals.

For most men, it takes between 24 and 36 hours to “replenish” all the way after ejaculating and get back to their normal sperm count, even though this is not a one size fits all, it’s important to note that you shouldn’t have sex too frequently due to your pressure to get pregnant.

The other extreme is to have too little sex because you’re trying to conceive…What we’re trying to say is that the ideal thing to do is to find a balance for your baby-dance sex!

9. Not having sex during your ovulation

Lastly, your ovulation day is the day you stand a higher chance of getting pregnant. Your body naturally produces an egg every month, the egg is viable for only 24hrs and that’s why knowing when you ovulate and committing to having sex during your ovulation can make all the difference on your conception journey.

Do you know how to calculate your ovulation?

We recently wrote an article on how to calculate your ovulation day and get pregnant, you can read it here [url]=https://www.carrottop-ng.com/2018/08/18/how-to-calculate-your-ovulation-day/]

Health / Missed Period!!! Am I Pregnant? by ctdrugs: 11:41am On May 27, 2019
Absence of your normal menstrual flow can be a cause for concern. Sometimes, it could indicate pregnancy, but it may also be related to illness, stress or fertility disorder. Ideally, a healthy woman has about twelve menstrual cycles every year. A normal menstrual cycle can occur every 21 to 35 days for each cycle except if you’re pregnant. Apart from pregnancy, here are some reasons you might experience missed periods:

#1 Hormonal Imbalance: A missed period may indicate that you have a hormone imbalance. Hormones are responsible for controlling ovulation and menstruation. Ideally, when ovulation occurs, your body secretes progesterone, which builds up the uterine lining in preparation for pregnancy and implantation to occur. But if there is no pregnancy, progesterone levels will drop, and your menstruation will flow. If you miss your period without getting pregnant, it could signal a problem with hormones involved in ovulation.

#2 Stress: We react to stress in different ways. The way one reacts to stress could be different from the way the other reacts to it. When you experience chronic or extreme stress, the part of your brain that controls the normal functioning of reproductive hormones could be affected. This can cause menstruation and ovulation to stop.

#3 Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS): Polycysticovarian syndrome is a condition whereby, small fluid-filled sacs called cysts grow inside the ovaries which never mature enough to trigger ovulation thereby altering levels of oestrogen and progesterone making them lower than usual and causing an increase in androgens (male hormones). This in turn, prevents menstruation and ovulation from occurring regularly. Missed periods are a common symptom of pcos.

#4 Weight fluctuations: Being underweight or overweight could cause hormonal imbalances because fatty tissues play a major role in synthesizing hormones. Additionally, gaining or losing a significant amount of weight within a short period of time could affect your hypothalamus, which is the gland that controls the release of estrogen. Too little or too much estrogen could cause a missed or late period. Rapid weight gain or weight loss due to illness, or dietary changes, may interfere with hormone production or release, causing you to miss one period or more.

#5 Breastfeeding: Prolactin is the hormone responsible for the production of breast milk in women. If you are breastfeeding, you may not see your period for some time. This is because prolactin can also suppress ovulation and subsequently menstruation.

#6 Medications: Certain medications like anti-depressants, antipsychotics, anticonvulsants, antibiotics, and some chemotherapy medications could cause absent or delayed periods. Hormonal contraceptives can also influence your menstrual cycle by blocking ovulation causing missed periods.

#7 Excessive Exercise: When you exercise excessively and you also restrict meals to lose weight, your body would not be able to produce enough estrogen. This can cause disruptions in your menstrual cycle. Taking it easy and gaining a little weight if needed, should put you back on track.

#8 Change in your regular schedules: If you work during the day normally and you switch to night shift, it could throw off your internal body clock which regulates your hormones. This could result in a late or missed period, but it should return by the time your body gets used to the change or if your schedule gets back to normal.

#9 Perimenopause: Perimenopause is a period of transition from reproductive age to a non-reproductive age. It is the time when a woman is about to enter the stage of menopause. On average, this may start around age 45. The body gradually makes less estrogen during this phase and women at this stage may experience missed periods.

Health / How You Can Give Birth To A Boy Or A Girl Using Predicte Ovulation Test Kit by ctdrugs: 11:37am On May 02, 2019
Sperm cells are either X or Y. The Egg cell is always X. If X-Sperm cell meets the egg(X) the baby will be a Girl (XX). If Y-Sperm cell meets the egg(X), the baby will be a Boy (XY). The Y-Sperm cells move fast but die fast (its lifespan is about 24hrs). X-Sperm cells move slowly but survive longer (up to 3-4days). Therefore, if you have intercourse some days before ovulation, most of the Y-Sperm cells would have died leaving mostly X-Sperm cells. The CHANCES of having a Girl is therefore higher. To increase the CHANCE of conceiving with a baby Boy, intercourse must be timed to coincide with ovulation. The role of PREDICTE OVULATION TEST KITs is to tell you when Ovulation will occur. When you get a positive PREDICTE Result, it means that ovulation will occur in the next 24-36hrs. You can therefore time intercourse to increase the CHANCE of achieving the desired Baby Sex.

Health / 6 Reasons Why You Are Not Getting Pregnant by ctdrugs: 3:00pm On Apr 30, 2019
If you have been trying to get pregnant for a while and it’s not happening, here are some of the possible reasons behind the problem:

You’re not ovulating: If you’re not ovulating, you won’t be able to get pregnant. Anovulation is a common cause of female infertility and it can be triggered by conditions such as pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome), obesity, hyperprolactinemia, extreme stress, hormonal imbalance, etc. Irregular or absent menstrual periods is one of the most common signs that a woman is not ovulating normally.

Sperm problems: Human conception requires the union of an egg and sperm. Infertility in men can be caused by low sperm count, poor sperm motility or morphology. A man with normal sperm count may still have difficulty impregnating his partner if he has poor sperm motility. It is important to ensure that you have adequate sperm count and sperm quality for pregnancy to occur. Sperm boosters like EVERGREEN FORMULAR FOR MEN are widely recommended for Dads-to-be.

Poor lubrication/Cervical Mucus: Adequate lubrication is needed for any couple to enjoy sex. Beyond sex, lubrication is also important for the movement of sperm from the vagina towards the egg for fertilization. The use of saliva, water or petroleum jelly is a bad idea if you’re trying to conceive, as these types of lubricant can kill sperm or negatively affect the motility of sperm. It is advisable to use a quality fertility lubricant like Pre-seed which is doctor-recommended for couples who are trying for a baby.

Alcohol/Smoking/Stress: Smoking or drinking greatly reduces your ability to produce gametes (eggs in the females and sperms in the males). Smoking or drinking pulls down the body’s ability to produce healthy sperm or eggs.

Not having sex at the right time: As a woman, there’s a time of the month when you’re very likely to get pregnant. It is good to enjoy sex anytime you feel like it, but when trying for a baby, you should also time intercourse to occur during your fertile period. This is usually about 1-2days before ovulation day. There are natural symptoms that can help you determine your ovulation period. E.g. egg-white cervical mucus, changes in basal body temperature, sore nipples, breast tenderness, abdominal discomfort, spotting, mittelschmerz, increased sex drive, etc. You can also get PREDICTE OVULATION TEST KITs which works accurately to help you determine your exact ovulation day.

Fallopian tube problems: Normally, sperm and egg should meet in the fallopian tube for fertilization. A blocked tube can prevent them from joining. The most common cause of blocked fallopian tubes is pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), untreated pelvic infections/STDs, previous ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis, etc. Some blockages may be corrected using medications while other cases may require surgery. If treatment is not possible, your doctor might recommend in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Health / Can Poor Sperm Quality Cause Miscarriage? by ctdrugs: 2:10pm On Apr 30, 2019
When miscarriage happens, people sometimes conclude that it’s because the woman has a problem. However, some miscarriages can be a result of the father’s sperm quality. When miscarriages occur multiple times, it is important to focus on both the father as well the mother. Sperm count, motility and cellular fluid in the sperm are some of the key factors to be considered for a healthy pregnancy.

Below are some of the cases where a man’s sperm can cause miscarriage.

Sperm DNA fragmentation: The goal of sperm is to fertilize the egg and pass the father’s genes to the next generation. It is important that the DNA contained within the sperm remains neither damaged nor fragmented. Damaged or fragmented DNA portends a high risk of miscarriage. Several studies have been able to link overweight, poor diet, smoking, pollution and infection, illness or fever to fragmented DNA within the sperm.

Lifestyle Choices: Just as the woman’s health before pregnancy is essential, so is the men. Unhealthy lifestyle choice such as: drinking, smoking, drug abuse, poor nutrition and excessive weight can affect the sperm of a man. These can reduce sperm quality/viability, sperm morphology (shape and size), thus, decreasing the chances of a successful pregnancy. If an egg is fertilized by abnormal sperm, there is a high chance that such pregnancy would end in a miscarriage.

Chromosomal Problems: Chromosomes are blocks of DNA that encode all information needed during development. When a sperm fuses with an egg, half of a developing baby’s chromosomes come from the father while the other half comes from the mother (23 from the mother and 23 from the father, so the total 46 chromosomes results in the fetus). If during conception, the embryo gets the abnormal number of chromosomes (can be too many or too few), this can lead to a miscarriage.

In conclusion, several factors can increase the risk of miscarriage with poor sperm quality as a probable cause. If miscarriages occur frequently, it is essential the woman does a proper pelvic exam to assess her reproductive organs and the man undergoes tests for sperm analysis which looks at the mobility, shape and count. Sperm quality can be improved by living a healthy lifestyle and taking fertility Supplements like EVERGREEN FORMULAR FOR MEN Evergreen for men which will boost sperm count, function, motility and support sperm shape, size and morphology and overall male reproductive system

Health / Boost your fertility and chances of conception by ctdrugs: 4:03pm On Mar 11, 2019
In men, production of sperm is an everyday process… BUT we women are born with all the eggs we are ever going to have. As women, our bodies cannot make any new eggs during our lifetime. We are born with approximately two million eggs in our ovaries, but about eleven thousand of these eggs die every month before puberty.

By the time a girl becomes a teenager, she would have only about three hundred thousand to four hundred thousand remaining eggs, and from that point on, approximately one thousand eggs are destined to die every month regardless of whether she ovulates or not. Nothing stops this inexorable death of approximately one thousand eggs every month. Whenever the woman runs out of her eggs, the ovaries will stop making estrogen hormone, and her reproductive system will go into the stage called menopause.

There are many causes of infertility but Age remains one of the most significant factors that affect female fertility. Most women reach peak fertility between the ages of 23 to 30. After age 30, fertility starts to decline very rapidly in most women. That said, women who are 30years old and above still have a good chance of getting pregnant.

As long as you’re healthy and fertile, you still have a good 20 percent chance of getting pregnant in every menstrual cycle. Here are some tips that will definitely help you make the most of your 20% if you’re 30years old and above.

(1) Know your Menstrual Cycle Length – To calculate the length of your menstrual cycle, count the number of days starting from the first day of your menstruation till the day before your next menstruation begins. If your menstrual cycle is regular, that’s a good thing… but if you’re not menstruating regularly, it may be a sign that there’s something wrong with the ovaries.

(2) Monitor your Ovulation – The most fertile time for any woman to get pregnant is during her ovulation period. There are many signs/symptoms that can help you know when you’re ovulating, e.g. tender breast, sore nippples, one-sided lower abdominal pain, increased sex drive, egg-white cervical mucus, etc. You can also get OPKs like PREDICTE OVULATION TEST KIT which is very accurate to help you know your ovulation day.

(3) Eat well and Exercise regularly – Hippocrates says “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” It is advisable to eat more fruits and vegetables rather than junks and processed foods. Also, do regular exercises, but keep it moderate. Do not exhaust yourself.

(4) Maintain a healthy lifestyle – It is important to live well and maintain a proper hygiene. Do not expose yourself to infections by being dirty or having multiple sexual partners. Many cases of blocked fallopian tubes are due to untreated pelvic infections. Avoid smoking and reduce alcohol intake. Take clean water often. Keep yourself and your surroundings clean. Avoid using dirty toilets and maintain proper menstrual and overall hygiene.

(5) Get a fertility supplement – Dietary supplements like EVERGREEN FORMULAR are widely recommended by doctors to boost overall fertility in women who are ready to get pregnant. It provides regular menstruation/ovulation and greatly increases the chances of conception.
