Money as an instrument of exchange was and is still an artificial invention. It's general acceptability that keeps money going. Other than that, it's just a fickle piece of paper.

Don't know about the two but the important invention of Mankind is MONEY.



Money revolutionised the very essence of human endeavour. It is at the heart of every other invention.

With its major qualities of store of value, unit of account and medium of exchange, it moved man from a subsistent hunter-gatherer to every other activity that over time gave rise to other key inventions like internet, electricity etc.

In my own opinion, money is not an invention. It arises as a result of neccessity. If we said, 'money is an invention, then trade by barter is an invention.'

I think it's a Mirror. Prior to the invention of the Mirror, humans couldn't know how exactly they looked like. They could see themselves partially through mediums like water, polished metal stones etc. Isn't it astonishing we can now see our ears? Are we supposed to?
