All is well with us oh! I thought I was the only one still hopeful about Diamond Bank. Since Dec. 8th 2015 that they requested for our CV. All is well oh my people. Lets keep hope alive. The same thing with Sterling Bank. Still expecting the Interview and was successful at their effective communication and business writing test. Lord i will still testify about this stage of my life.
I guess you're in the Lagos trail.. You guys are yet to go for the two interviews and medicals.
We in the Abj section have done all, now remaining TS.

I don't know if it's the bad state of the economy that's delaying the whole process.

Evn the Food & Beverage Industry just warned yesterday that they are about to sack much workers.

BTW... The Sterling bank job, is it a Fulltime role?
Also, Sterling Bank was among the Six banks that reported high Profit After Tax for the 2015 Financial Year and with Increased Lending.
So, why are they still delaying??
The Six banks are Zenith, GTBank, Access, Wema, Sterling and uUBA

I don't think Diamond bank has published her Earnings and Profit After Tax for the 2015 Financial Year.

CareerRe: Before You Cross To Another Bank, Consider These by cuteguy007: 1:02pm On Mar 14, 2016
Hello sir, I love your analysis. Please, in all this, how do you rate the chances of a new ET (Entry Trainee) with Diamond Bank who is about to commence the usual six months training?

anonymox321:
To start with, I never read Marketing and throughout when I was in school, it never crossed my mind I would be selling/marketing a bank.

U know how it is in this country to get a job. U will have to share a testimony if u get one.

So when I was invited by bank A for an aptitude test, I was very happy. I passed the test and d bank A invited me for an interview, I had to form being a marketer when I learnt it's marketers they wanted. I came from an average family. It was a miracle how I got enough money to finance my university education. So I needed the job badly to give back to my family that sacrificed a lot for me. Thank God I got it.

I struggled in my first two years on the job. Narrowly, I escaped being exited from bank A based on performance. Because i didnt want to lose the regular salaries, I had to sit up. I began to read books on marketing and benchmarked top performers and then my performance changed from being very poor to average. But after six years on the job, I was still on the same grade.

When bank B offered me a higher grade/higher pay, I grabbed the offer. Because I was very excited, before accepting the offer, I didn't consider that:

(1) The brand of Bank A was more than bank B. Hence, marketing was easier in Bank A than in B
(2) Bank A has more branch network than bank B. A very critical factor some prospects consider before doing business with a bank.
(3) Bank A has more corporate accounts than Bank B. A critical factor distributors consider before banking u.
(4) The internal processes in bank A are better than that of bank B. In bank A, I could open an account for a customer in 10 mins, help another customer do transfer in 8 mins
(5) In bank A, most of their reports are already automated. That way, I could get more time to focus on d job instead of sending one report or the other to mgt. In bank B, the reports have to be manually generated.
(6) However, the staff welfare package in bank B is better than bank A's. Also, they don't sack often than they do in bank A.
(7) Your loyalty is tested. I felt like Judas thereafter.

So I had to work harder to bring in accounts in bank B. It was by a miracle I even met my confirmation target.

There is no perfect system anywhere. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

So before u make that move, don't just get excited about the mouth- watery offer, weigh the costs and benefits, pray to God to guide your decisions or else u may be gambling with your career.

ARE YOU SLOW OR JUST PLAIN STUPID?? PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE ONE OF THE MAJOR PROBLEM WE HV IN NIGERIA. U CANNOT READ... YOU CANNOT COMPREHEND... YET U OPEN UR MOUTH AND SAY TRASH. I BLAME NETWORKS FOR MAKING DATA CHEAP NOW... PLEASE LEARN TO KEEP UR NEGATIVITY IN IR HEAD/HOME
Ehya... I see your energy... Noticed you're just one of those new kids who just entered the job market... Hahaha!

Probably they decided to make this particular process free of charge, but certainly, I promise you that after the whole exercise, you will not make it.
I'm not wishing you ill luck, but I'm giving you a statement of fact.

Army and police will come up soon.. Please free to apply as well. You still will not make it in the end.

Who and who are aware that FIRS, Complaints Commission, Amcon, just finished replacement exercise; and Immigration and Civil Defense currently doing replacement?

Hello kid, if you're not in the system, you cannot be a part of the system.

You're just new job seeker: go and explore your options.

Yes, DB offers its full-time staff study leave without pay after working for five consecutive years. But your position would be filled up in your absence.

You may be lucky to return to your position after study, or you can be considered for other units. A human capital representative would regularly keep in touch during your study leave. Ensure your intended course of study aligns to Banking activities.

It takes someone who's determined to go for study leave after tasting fat salary. But if you're committed you can achieve it.
Wow! Thanks for this great insight, Boneruns. This was why I advocated earlier that the page should be kept alive with this kind of discussion. I'm sure many new GHOST Employees of DB are interested in this. Lol

Please throw more light on these things please. I will deeply appreciate. Thanks.

I think you have answered your own question, but maybe it isn't clear to you yet.

What I did was to draw up a T table of my current pros and cons and then that of my expectation.
You can compare
Pay, nature of job, flexibility, leave time, study leave options, promotions, work place relationship, distance to and fro work etc

If you do the pros and cons of your current place, then try and do one for DB and then weigh it. For instance, say pay: DB might pay more but the uncertainty of your final department might be a major con for you and might disuade you from taking the job.
Hi... Thanks for the insight. Now, I got my table, but I couldn't fill up the 'study leave option' for DB cos I don't have an idea on their policies towards that.

I wouldn't mind a one year study leave without salary.

Please, do you have an idea if DB offers such to their fulltime staff? What's the concept of their study leave option? Pls.

The question is "What's their pay package like"? I just hope you're not the one involved. Something tells me you're involved and not a teaser. wink
The pay is nice.. Nice benefits as well.. With the whole banking stuff, they could likely end up turning everyone to marketers.
The stress at NB is less compared to banks.
What about the career paths at both place?
As a fulltime staff with DB, one can easily access zero-interest loan to invest in a biz.

Donnie, please enlighten me more on the banking asect since you're already in the sector.

I mean, the comparion keeps running through my mind.

Hi guys. A little teaser:
If you just get a job right now with Nigerian Breweries as Fulltime staff (Executive Sales Rep), will you still attend the Diamond Bank TS and continue with DB or will you start with Nigerian Breweries??

I like people coming out plain....You just said you admired her from afar, only that the opportunity didn't come for you to speak with her. As for having her contact, I already have it because we sat side-by-side throughout the interviewing process, and we would be communicating even after our interviews before TS. I guess you saw a couple of other persons around me including guys buh you've chosen to speak about this FAIR LADY. Anyways, work has been great and thanks be to GOD ALMIGHTY.
Bro, nah #God_win... I was actually in the Spirit on that day of the Lord. Let His will be done.

Do you know if DB provides accommodation during the TS?

I prefer Abuja..... do u have an idea abt their training school?
I guess their Abj TS is still that same venue we did everything.

But when they'll call should be between now and 2nd week of February.

If they should retain me in Abj after the TS, they should better post me to State House branch. If not, let them post me to Uyo.

Yo cuteguy... Can u kindly share with us some of the questions you were asked during your interview. It would really be helpful
You know every interview starts with greetings, introduction and tell us about yourself. Afterwards, they asked us different questions. No two people were asked same thing after the aforementioned initiation.

See how dead this 2015 thread is right now as compared to the 2014 Diamond bank recruitment thread!
Just gothru theirs, you'll see how lively it was until they went for TS -
Training School.

Seems DB recruited dull ppl in 2015. Pls if you know that you passed the Test & Interviews and also the Medicals, just come out let's keep talking till we meet again at the TS!
