Lagos State Governor, @AkinwunmiAmbode, begins Road and Drainage reconstruction. It be can recalled that Governor Ambode paid an unscheduled visit to the area recently, describing the state of the road as ‘unacceptable’ and assuring residents that the road and drainage would get a face lift soon. In line with his assurance, the governor in the past few weeks had mobilised the Lagos State Works and Infrastructure Department to commence work on the network of roads. Men of Works and Infrastructure Department are at work on Bariga Roads, reconstructed by the Lagos State Government on Thursday, February 4th 2016. Duration of this project will last within 6months But after what appeared to be years of neglect and near abandonment, there seems to be a ray of hope for the Bariga residents after construction exercise began February 4th 2016 on the order of Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode. Since over 30years, Another State Record breaking shall open a new chapter by Governor Ambode as the story of heavy traffic logjams along the road due to poor drainage will be a thing of past. When ADELOVE newsTeam visited the community yesterday and earlier today, heaps of granite and Sands were seen littering sections of the road at Oloruntoyin, Jebina, where visible signs of construction work were seen (See photos detailed below). Various road construction machines, including the ones used in compressing the soil were also seen at different locations. Some residents and motorists who spoke with the ADELOVE Team admitted that though the heaps of granite, sand and the construction works as a whole had seemingly worsened traffic on the road for the meantime, they were hopeful and optimistic that at least within a short time, things will change. |

According to reports, Some top officials of the civil service have been dismissed by the federal government for extorting money from 400 applicants and offering them employment illegally. Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, made the disclosure on Saturday in Lagos during a meeting with some selected on-air-personalities. He said the officers had included the names of the applicants in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel System (IPPIS) before the fraud was discovered. “The first scandal I met in one of the parastatals when I assumed office was the illegal employment of 400 people,” he said. “This scandal started with very senior officers up to level 17 in that department. “They sent out letters and text messages asking people to apply for jobs for a fee of N400, 000 and they were given letters of employment. “They did not stop there. They invited these people to go and be captured on the IPPIS and they even took cameras to hotels to get them captured. At the end of the day the bubble burst. “One of the victims told these officials, you cannot take my money and still disengage me. I have a valid letter. That is how we got to know that there is a dedicated account these people pay to. See full details from source (http://www.adelove.com/fg-fires-top-officials/)
