Colin Adua: I noticed that phantom A displays unread messages

It's still okay.
A bit slow since I've installed a lot of apps.

Heats up only when playing Asphalt like I mentioned before. Battery is pretty okay too.

Since 7 I've been browsing and reading. exactly 49% battery left.

It has fallen a couple of times but it's intact.

Hi.

Before you stress yourself about going to carlcare, try these:

for the browsing:
Settings > More... > Mobile networks > Access Point Names > Your Sim name

Make sure the radio button is selected. I believe the APN settings are already configured.

for the absent apps:
they are installed on your memory card. make sure the card is properly seated in its slot. It probably got shifted while you were inserting your SIM cards.

Maybe before checking that you can check FileManager in your App drawer or Storage under Settings to make sure the SD Card is mounted

Colin Adua: I have actually done all these above & more. Its my CV, I tried to download with gmail without internet connection, thinking it loaded as the emails.

I ve given it internet connection. I've removed the battery & replaced it. I've gone to Android OS help online. I've punched it tire, its not connecting to gmail. I ve removed gmail account & restored it. I've reordered the download. All to no avail. It is still initializing.

biomedixexcel: My MTN browsing has been very sluggish....even on 3G! who else is experiencing this

I had issues yesterday but it's fine now. I switched to Opera Mini browser and switched image quality to Low so pages load faster.
UCBrowser and Chrome were super slow.

How do I fully manage the status bar?

I have a download that is initialising since all I have done to cancel it proves abortive.

hi. let me see. haven't tried to cancel a download before but...
If you're downloading from Play Store, try these two suggestions below;
* in the notification bar pulled down, click the X at the top right. If that doesn't work, then,
* go to the specific app page you're downloading from on Google play and end the download.

Not all notifications in the status bar can be controlled.

le Trizzle: I wish I could say the same about my battery,its at 11% as I post now,I had to switch to 3g a couple of times though,mtn service is kinda poor these few days.

Reduce your screen brightness. That helps me a lot. Don't put it on Auto. Just go to settings and scroll down to the left.
True about the MTN ish. Was supposed yo send an urgent mail last night and they nearly put me in trouble. But I think it's better now.

le Trizzle: Close to an hour difference. Am testing it on 2G at present to see how long the battery would last.

hmmm...when I went they told me I'll have to leave it there. didn't want to and was worried it'll get more problems.
I leave power in my PC's USB port overnight about 1am to 7 am. that charge takes me through the day. always on HSDPA sha. but data isn't always on.
I use it to read, browse and then I play that Asphalt game on the way home (BTW, you guys have made me addicted to the game ). There's no abnormal heat.

le Trizzle: Sorry,i didn't notice any difference except that the time it takes to charge the battery seems to have reduced a bit,it still gets hot but hasn't asked for a battery pull since ,plus I lost all my apps,thats the annoying part.
Twas just a waste of time.

there isn't need for manual configuration. but try this;

Settings>Wireless&Networks >Mobile networks > Dual SIM settings> AccessPointNames

select for you SIM and make sure the radio button is ON

IF THERE'S NO APN THERE ALERT US TJEN TJR SETTINGS WILL BE SENT. need to sleep now.

let me go to Carl care.
for performance so far, N7 has done better than the RB. but d issues it's facing aren't peculiar to the brand. I've done some research and I'm sure it'll be fixed.

I don't regret buying it though cos the width of the n7 was a pain on the muscle btw my thumb and index finger.

That 5 hours is an exaggeration if you ask me.

But I wonder how many hours you'll get after using this battery crappy phone for 4 months

There's no p sha. Taking it to carlcare for a fix cos I think the piece has a technical glitch. Will give feedback after I'm done with them.

Mine does last up to 5hrs right now.

I'm not bothered so much anyway. I've bought it and that's done.

Only worried that it doesn't charge with PC cos I'm at my PC 16/24hrs daily

my battery lasts well with browsing.

yesterday I used the remaining 1% to browse on 3G for over 20mins before it shutdown.

5hrs isn't enough for me but that's how long mine lasts.

mine takes over 6hrs to get a full charge on AC.
Plugged to my PC yesterday and only got an extra 19%charge by the 3hr time it took my PC battery to run out

mine is pretty slow. Home button/multitasking isn't working either.

Bought the race bolt yesterday.

Here's what happened with the battery.

Used it to test at the shop for about 30mins. Switched off and removed battery till I got home.
charged fully for about 5 hers then switched it ON ,plugged to my PC

began installs and upgrades then unplugged by 5am. Gave it to someone to test.
Twas used for TR Oz,a few other games and music till about 9am.

From then I used it on and off. 3G was ON all the while.

it went OFF by 1106

Just plugged it back in. So it's 6 hours battery life on medium usage.

all the apps that are under that section should be grayed out and not green. Check.

Untick background data and Autosync

Also, if you must browse with images, you can reduce the image quality in the browser settings.

Also try Dolphin browser mini. Someone said Opera mini minimizes data usage - I don't know how true cos I don't like it. You could test it if you want
