Hello my brother. That is a common thing in Nigeria.
Most sellers are busy displaying and hyping brands. But they forget that there is no product that doesn't need maintenance ( no matter how small it may be).
I bought a charge controller at about 130k from a supplier. They promised 1 year warranty. At around 8 months, the charge controller malfuctioned and almost destroyed 8 200ah batteries by over charging them. I took it back to the supplier and he said that I should drop it and that i should check back.
My client ( the person using the charge controller) was vary mad at me, he called me many names, he said I'm incompetent, he said I promised a year warranty that I should replace that charge controller with another one.......he is a powerful personality.
To save my self and career..... I had to buy another one!
I later went to forcefully take the faulty charge controller and discorvered that the supplier had given it to a technician to work on it but without success.
I'm not blaming anyone but, please, our importers should work on improving after sales services.
With my experience , there is no technician that can service a product better than the producer/ manufacturer.
Let, the importers insist that these companies should have service centers here in nigeria. Good day and thanx for this info. Pls how can we no when an inverter is overcharging a ba3. I use an I power plus inverter 2kva. After a year d ba3 got swollen and dey have been kept in a well ventilated place. The technician who came to disconnect it said d inverter is over charging d ba3. Called the customer care of company which owns d inverter and dey said it’s not possible dat d inverter is over charging d ba4

I will also suggest that we should open a topic on after sales services and cost.
