My 2004 corolla gear is not selecting but the reverse is working any help from my ogas in the house or any good gear master that can help me look into it and my mechanic has helped me change the gear oil and serviced it still the same i used T 4 oil and again I d like to know if it can be scanned to know the fault.

I'm not the first owner i bought it used and it once over heated and the gasket was changed and I have not really used it

Thats dangerous. Your car is shorting oil be that,either its the piston rings are qorn out or top cylinder seal is bad. Did u check for any oil leakage . Buy a cardboard of 100 naira,when u get home at night,place it between where gear and engine connect. Wait till tmrw morning to see if the card boards are stained with drops of oil at cold engine temperaturebefore you start the car in the morning. Either your seal is bad or something.

Is not dropping oil i have tried to notice that and the oil is gauged

Your oilnsump plug or wire is faulty. If the oil light is yellow then its the wire qnd plug don dabaru,if its red then its oil low.

Likely your Oil pump. But read all codes on the ECU so we rule out guess work.

Goodmorning all pls am having another issues with my 2005 toyota camry the oil light keep showing on the dashboard sometimes it comes on and off and sometimes it stays for awhile and my mechanic opened the sump clean it and wash it twice and the oil switch has been changed so also is the oil filter pls my ogas in the house what could be the problem I never get money to buy another engine I stay around iju ishaga area

Tapping sound is dangerous. The 4 cylinder camry engine is aluminium and has come to an end. That mechanic has been eating fat on you. The oil sump ot whatever ,it's either the plug has been damaged or the wires connecting to it has broken,hence u will get oil sign on your dashboard there's diff between oil sign warning and oil low if its oil lowzthe colour would be red while warning would be yellow. Sometimes it's a damaged plug or sensor to the oil due to iron hand manhandling from kazeem and his boys. Pls best option now is to trade that engine and get direct toks engine. I repeat,out of 10,8 of the mechanics we have in naija are useless and hurry hurry work because of the money they will gain from you. Visit youtube to educate yourself abt the camry engine cons and pros

Might be a minor issue. Camry 2005 hardly consumes fuel

For the oil light, be careful not to knock the engine. Just change the oil pump if need be.

Again, that tapping noise could mean the engine was ringed before you bought it.

What kind of oil are you using ?

The gear of that car is 13pin. Please be careful so that it won't get contaminated.

Mobil 2000 is what I use but I dont know what the old owner was using before I bought it
According to the mechanic he said the engine was never opened that the owner sold it because it over heat and they had to change the Gasket and the mechanic that changed the gasket didn't do it well that is why the owner sold it

3 main culprits. Bad nozzles, bad ignition coil,or bad and failing fuel pump. If you want tonchamge fuel pump don't but tokunbor or new one of 3k,buy original pump of 8k,or you buy direct tokunbor complete 12k. Pls oh

the tapping sound is still there and i have asked someone to come scan the car the only fault he showed me was misfiring i dont know if those big Auto Medic shop has a different way of scanning car

This mechanic is really given me headach dis days he is the one that push me into buying the car and he said he knows the problem of the car that he will fix everything as soon as I purchase the car from the owner and ever since then is one problem to another first is this tapping sound inside the engine he said it doesn't mean that is the cusp inside the engine that the car can stil work for almost 2yr then I can decide to change the engine there after I noticed the oil light come up he opened the sump and washed and serviced it yet still pop up again now he said I have to change the oil pump....abeg make una help me dis guy won finish me

I bought a used Toyota camery 2005 and notice that the car doesn't start once i have to try starting it like 2/3 time before it starts and once a park for like 10/15 mins still would not start immediately i have changed the cold start switch the mechanic has reset the timing chain and the car also consume more fuel.pls make una help me o I have not been working for months now with it
