Two Nigerian men have been arrested for allegedly scamming a German state that tried to buy 2.3m euros (£2m) of personal protective equipment (PPE). Nigerian police say they cloned the website of a Dutch company to obtain an order from the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. When the PPE didn't show up, a state government representative visited the company's offices in the Netherlands. The company then informed him that they had never done business with him. The representative notified the Dutch police and investigations led to Nigeria where the two suspects were arrested in the capital, Abuja. They are due to appear in court soon. The suspects, Babatunde Adesanya and Akinpelu Hassan Abass, were members of a "sophisticated transnational criminal network", Nigerian police said in a statement. The pair allegedly cloned the corporate website of ILBN Holdings BV in order to carry out the scam on Freiherr Fredrick Von Hahn, who represented North Rhine-Westphalia. The PPE was needed for the battle against coronavirus. Two more arrests have also been made in the Netherlands. According to Nigerian police, Mr Von Hahn was "disturbed" when the PPE did not arrive, only to find out that "the company never did business with him and that the transaction was a scam". emmy43:If you can't engage in constructive conversations/arguments without sounding insulting, you'd better take your pettiness to those who own you. |
Hello guys! I have a BSc. degree in Geography and Planning from the University of Lagos, and I have bought the Unilag postgraduate admission form for 2020/2021 school term. If you're also an aspirant, and would like to keep in touch / connect, please beep me. ![]() Also, If you have any past questions, specifically on Geography and Planning, please do well to beep me. I'll be more than grateful. Thanks a lot! ![]() |
A Unilag alumnus here! Prior to 2015, they had allegedly killed a very good VC (Professor Sofoluwe) of Unilag 'cause he didn't allow those evil people to influence him. Now it's Professor Ogundipe with "serious acts of recklessness, abuse of office, misconduct" yen yen yen lines! As long as Professor Ogundipe isn't doing their evil bidding, he's now involved in "gross misconduct". It's funny how that wicked Professor Rahman Bello, who gave us indemnity form to sign and cut short our social life as students, was allowed to stay. God dey! |
crixlight2:Of course, I know how to play. I even play harder than you sef. However, don't go about throwing insults at people. |
crixlight2:You that couldn't fill a simple FedEx form for the phone your brother sent to you through courier, are the one calling me a fool? |
Twy:I agree with you to a certain degree. However, reading out numbers shouldn't be such a hard task nah. Even if he can't call out one hundred, at least saying "one, zero zero" is not tedious. Is it? |

The Church of Jehovah is marching on! Glory! I don't want to see any coco-yam head individual criticizing this. Take out your hunger and outrageous frustration on your failed government. |
From a reliable source, PDP won massively in Ondo State. Why won't a whole professor know how to read out digits and large numbers? This is just something my six year-old nephew can do! IMO, I think the yeye prof was just faking whatever "Nollywood" stunt he put up there. The APC is fighting so hard to retain power by all means. God pass dem last last. |
