Not really, all hamas fighters and average other Palestinian are not scared of death. They've already prepared themselves for death. What can be worse than death?. They prefer dying as a matyre than leaving as a prisoner in their own country.

Hamas knows very well that it is a war they can never win but are ensuring some of their oppressors die with them. Imagine a mere militant group killing as much as over 300 US trained Israeli Soldiers despite billion of dollars annual military aids to them by US.
