Ghanaian FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi hopes to attract young men to watch the local leagues by inviting sexy ladies to the stadium. He believes that if these ladies go to stadium, men will automatically flock to the stadium. Before you rubbish his plan, note that he has tried it before.

"Me I have said this thing over and over again - we must let sexy ladies enter our stadia and the men will readily follow them into the stadium to watch games. Most of these men when they hear that beautiful girls are coming to the stadium today, they'll all jump and follow them to the stadium, and they are going there purposely to see the ladies. I remember there was one match the we brought some beautiful girls who were in nice jeans to the stadium. The men in the stands went into frenzy and when the ladies waved at them - come and see how jubilant they were," Nyantakyi told Monti FM.

Male football fans in Ghana are opting to watch Premier League games on television as opposed to attending local matches.

Did you know Sheffield FC is the world's oldest club? Well, The oldest football team in the world, Sheffield FC, has reportedly become the first English club to receive Qatari investment. Sheffield FC turned to Qatar after English FA and EPL snubbed them.

Sheffield FC was the world's first football team when it was founded in 1857 and it has now turned to one of football's newest powerhouses for key investment. According to The AP, Qatar has invested £100,000 which will help Sheffield FC relocate to its former home at Olive Grove in Sheffield.

"This is not about Qatar muscling in. This is about having a catalyst that makes everyone sit up and take note... a partnership between the new kids on the block and the world's first football club protecting the heritage of football,"Sheffield FC chairman Richard Tims said.

Sheffield FC said it only turned to Qatar after feeling snubbed after making direct approaches to the English Football Association and Premier League in the search for cash to fund a return to the site of its original home. Applications for grants have to go through the Football Foundation.
Sheffield FC play in the Northern South branch of non-league division one, seven tiers below the Premier League.

Super Eagles Midfielder, Haruna Lukman has blamed the weather condition in Dar es Salaam on Saturday for his performance, which made him substituted in the first half of the game. He told footballlive.ng:
"I assure the fans what they saw last time was not me, it was due to the weather condition. Am certain they’ll see a better Haruna and things will go the way its supposed to."

The South African city of Durban has been awarded the 2022 Commonwealth Games. It was the only city to bid for the event after Edmonton in Canada withdrew in February due to falling oil prices.
During the Commonwealth Games Federation's general assembly in New Zealand on Wednesday, outgoing president Prince Imran said:
"It gives me great pleasure to welcome the South African city of Durban as proud hosts of the 22nd Commonwealth Games. As a movement we stand together to support the very first games on African soil."
The Games will begin on July 18, the birth date of late South African anti-apartheid revolutionary Nelson Mandela, and will close 12 days' later.

Players of Warri Wolves have stayed away from their training of this week, protesting over unpaid wages. The players claimed that they are owed five months' worth of salaries, eight match bonuses and 15 percent of their signing-on fees from last season.

"We are already in the second round of the season and the number of games remaining are just 13 and before we know it is the end of the season and at that point it will be difficult to claim such money as the experience has always been. The only payment we got this season as salaries was in June when we were paid two months and after that nobody has explained or told us when we will be paid the remainder of our five months og salaries. Chelsea are on the brink of signing Barcelona star Pedro leaving Manchester United with nothing, according to reports in Europe. How is this even possible? Manchester United have been chasing the Spain international all through summer and various papers are reporting that the Spaniard signed and sealed an agreement with Chelsea on Tuesday night. Chelsea will pay 28 million euros to Barcelona and 2 million euros more possibly to come in variables depending on appearances and success, which equals 30 million euros that Barcelona are demanding.

Reports suggest that the young star chose Chelsea because he was not impressed with Louis van Gaal's treatment of two players he know well , Victor Valdes and David de Gea. According to Marca.com, Pedro is already in London undergoing a medical, having been given permission to do so by Barcelona. An official announcement of the move is expected imminently.

If this is true, then it is unarguably a big blow to Manchester United.

Fifa confirmed on Monday that they will investigate the alleged distribution from their headquarters of an anonymous heavily critical document on Uefa president Michel Platini following a complaint from European soccer's governing body.

German newspaper Welt am Sonntag said on Sunday that the document, entitled "Platini - skeleton in the closet", was distributed out of Fifa's headquarters. The documents paints an unflattering picture of the former France international and questions his suitability for the role of Fifa president. The existence of the dossier on Platini, who is hoping to replace outgoing Fifa President Sepp Blatter in February's election, has also been reported in the Swiss media.

Michael Essien has reportedly turned down an opportunity to join both QPR and West Brom out of loyalty for former club Chelsea. His agent Fabien Piveteau told Calciomercato:
