I don't know how true this is o, but various reports claim Real Madrid latest signing Martin Odegaard has been forced to delete posting and comments on Lionel Messi on social media. Growing up, Odegaard was a Lionel Messi fan and it seems after joining Madrid he isn't allowed to be a Madrid fan. Why parents do this to their kids is beyond me. So a die-hard Liverpool fan, who found it hard to pick a name for his child which by the way is a girl from members of the squad decided to name his daughter YNWA which means You'll never walk alone. If the poor girl had been a boy she would have been named Gerrard but since she is a girl she would have to be YNWA. The little girl's mother, Eirin Isabell Iversen said: "I'm probably not as interested in football, but it was actually my suggestion to call her YNWA. He (husband) suggested Gerrard before we knew if it was a boy or girl" So they named her Karoline YNWA Iversen. The parents said they gave her an opportunity to change her name but she refused it and her father has promised to take her to Anfield for fifth birthday in May. Please visit www.dayosports..com |
Brazil legend Ronaldo, who last played in 2011 said on Wednesday that he will try to get back into shape so that he can come out of retirement to play for North American second division club Fort Lauderdale Strikers. I will try for myself, it's another challenge, I am sure it will help the league, help the team. Mourinho, who left Porto for Chelsea in 2004 after two Primeira Liga wins and a Champions League success, was named Portugal's coach of the century on Wednesday. And after picking up his title, the Portuguese said: "Obviously the titles that I won with Porto in this context are the most important in my career because they were titles won with a Portuguese team for Portuguese soccer. With Porto it was a unique case because that was winning a Champions League final with nine Portuguese players. Would I like to see it happen again? Yes I would, yes. It represents a sensation of not only have reached so many goals in my career but also in some way have contributed to Portuguese soccer. I have not been here for 12 years, 12 years away, but even in being away I have always tried to dignify my country and Portuguese soccer" He won the Premier League twice in his first spell with the Blues before claiming two Serie A crowns with Inter Milan and a La Liga triumph with Real Madrid. Days after receiving his third Ballon d'Or award, Cristiano Ronaldo has been the Portuguese player of the century. He is just 29 and he defeated Luis Figo and Eusebio to be named the Portuguese player of all time. As noted by Marca, Ronaldo fought off some pretty fierce competition to land the gong, ousting both Luis Figo and Eusebio in the voting at the Gala Quinas de Ouro, an event staged to honour the 100th anniversary of the Portuguese Football Federation. Kudos to CR7! Source - http://dayosports..com/2015/01/cristiano-ronaldo-named-portugal-player.html Please visit www.dayosports..com |

On Monday night after Cristiano Ronaldo was announced as the Fifa 2014 Ballon D'Or winner, Nike unveiled Ronaldo's signature Mercurial CR7 which was designed gold with hand-applied micro-diamonds. This is what Nike wrote on their website regarding Ronaldo and the boot: "In celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo’s stellar year and tremendous achievement, Nike created a special boot as unique as his talents. The Mercurial CR7 Rare Gold boot was designed specifically for Ronaldo and given to him after he was awarded his third Ballon d’Or". "Gold was selected as the main color on the boot because gold is earned. Ronaldo earned his golden award with tremendous play for club and country. As a tribute to Ronaldo’s work ethic, Nike added a special touch to the Mercurial CR7 Rare Gold. For the first time in Nike history, micro-diamonds have been applied by hand to the CR7 logo of the boot. The micro-diamonds are remnants from larger stones that are painstakingly perfected by craftsmen. As the diamonds are refined and the details sharpened, tiny pieces are cut away, leaving micro-diamonds behind as evidence of work in progress. The commitment to keep chipping away at something already impressive reminded Nike’s design team of Ronaldo’s work ethic. While many see Ronaldo as the best in the world, he sees room for improvement. This exclusive pair of Mercurial CR7 Rare Gold boots will be on pitch this week, only on the feet of Cristiano Ronaldo. " See more pics of the boot at http://dayosports..com/2015/01/the-story-behind-cristiano-ronaldos.html
