Politics / Corrupt Access Bank Top Management Staff Takes Bribe To Grant Gov. Uduaghan N50b by DailyVoice: 7:33am On Mar 19, 2015
Beyond their duties of carrying out financial duties to members of the public, Access Bank Nigeria we can authoritatively reveal has messy financial involvement in the looting of Delta treasury.

Daily Voice NG investigations revealed that the bank has been approached by the Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan led government to grant it a staggering sum of N50 billion as bond, without the necessary scrutiny and financial laid down rules needed to grant such.

To fast track the bond, DV NG learnt that some top management staff of Access Bank who have the capacity to stop the bond have been bribed to make it sail through, and in their usual corrupt manners have agreed to help the governor wreck the State before he leaves office in 70 days time.

Access Bank which is notorious for having dirty deals with government officials is not alone in the fraudulent saga, as BGL has also been compromised. The Director General of the Stock Exchange Commission (SEC) sources told this paper has been bribed with N2 billion to also see the bond land safely in Delta State account.

Access Bank own is worse been a financial institution with records to know that the State Government had earlier collected N50 billion bonds, but decided to be bribed to mortgage the state finance for eight years.

UBA’s U-Direct Platform: The new style of fraud engaged in by UBA staffers to dupe customers
........................................................................................................................................

That the United Bank for Africa (UBA) is notorious for milking its customer by scrupulously deducting little sum of money from their account for unnamed charges is not in doubt, neither is it arguable that survey carried out by our business reporters that if a poll is made on which Nigerian bank is notorious for fraudulent activities, especially by its members of staff, United Bank for Africa, UBA, will surely not struggle the number one spot with any other commercial bank(s) in the land. UBA is known for such activities, which have given some of its customer’s sleepless nights as they are no longer certain of what would happen to their hard-earned money, which they kept in the care of the ‘fraudulent’ bank. Some of the bank’s officials, especially those at the IT department of UBA, carry out various these fraudulent activities on customers’ accounts.

Politics / Gov. Babangida Aliyu: Release Our Editor, Fejiro Oliver Now! by DailyVoice: 10:27am On Sep 22, 2014
This is to alert the human rights community, security agencies, the media, civil society organizations and the general public of the sudden disappearance of our Managing Editor, Mr. Fejiro Oliver, a dreaded investigative online journalist, public affairs commentator and activist. Mr Fejiro Oliver until recently was the Editor of Secrets Reporters and an investigative reporter with online news medium, Elombah.com..

Mr Fejiro was last heard of on Friday 19th September, 2014 while he was in Abuja to honour an appointment at the instance of the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alhaji Saidu Idris Ndako. Mr Fejiro had carried out extensive investigation into the activities of the Niger State Government under the Governor Babangida Aliyu dispensation. After his investigation, he formally sought the response of the Niger State Government by contacting the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Saidu Idris Ndako Kpaki and the Chief Press Secretary to the Niger State Governor, Mr Israel A. Ebije. Instead of responding to the issues pertaining to the allege corrupt practices of governor Babangida Aliyu, the CPS, Mr Ebije in an electronic mail he sent to Fejiro Oliver threatened and warned him to desist from going public with the report (the outcome of his investigations).

In an editorial by Daily Voice NG few days ago, the security agencies and the general public were alerted of the threat to the life of Mr Fejiro Oliver by the Niger State Government through the Chief Press Secretary to the Niger State Governor. Sequel to this state of affairs, the SSG of Niger State had scheduled an appointment with Mr Fejiro in Abuja. As at the last time contacts were made with him, he was in Abuja for the sole purpose of meeting with the SSG.

Subsequently calls to all his known GSM lines last night proved abortive. His lines were either not reachable, switched off or busy. Up to this time, efforts to get in contact with Mr Oliver has not yielded fruitful results. We have reasons to believe that his incommunicado state or sudden disappearance has everything to do with his scheduled meeting with the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alhaji Saidu Idris Ndako Kpaki. We are therefore assuming based on the above facts that the SSG is in the know about Mr Fejiro’s where about.

Our apprehension has been further worsened by the strange fact that Mr Fejiro Oliver has not posted any update(s) on his ever active Facebook Timeline and Twitter handle today. We have not been able to establish contacts with his family, especially his lovely wife. We are therefore constrained to issue this interim public statement while also taking further steps on this matter. Let it be known that Mr Fejiro Oliver is not alone. Any attack on his person or life will be treated as an attack on his constituency; the human rights community and the media.
Since Friday, Oliver has been missing and nowhere to be found.

Below is the flight ticket booked by the SSG and sent to Oliver’s email: editor.dailyvoiceng@gmail.com via the SSG personal email address: saidunidris@yahoo.co.uk

Politics / Uba’s U-direct Platform: Another Mechanics Through Which UBA Staffers Defraud Cu by DailyVoice: 4:34pm On Sep 19, 2014
Daily Voice NG

This is done by gaining access into customers’ accounts and do magical withdrawals. These acts are giving the bank’s boss, Phillip Odozua, sleepless nights as he has since realized that some of his staffers are bent on denting the billion Naira bank image. This time, one of the bank’s e-commerce platform, U-Direct has become a tool which fraudulent staffers of the bank uses to defraud customers hard earned money. Information at our disposals has it that some staffers of UBA swindled one of its customers of over N1 million naira through the U-Direct electronic money transfer introduced by the bank. The worrisome part of this is that after UBA carried out an investigation on the matter and confirmed that the said customer was swindled by its staff, the bank is yet to refund the money to the customer. This has now forced the customer to write a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against UBA.

Politics / BOKO/HARAM: Ali Modu Sheriff Fires Back At Wole Soyinka by DailyVoice: 4:34pm On Sep 15, 2014
There is a brewing war of words between the erudite scholar and Nobel Prize winner, prof. Wole Soyinka and former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff and if care is not taken, may take another dimension.
Sheriff was reacting to the open letter written by Prof. Soyinka, titled ‘Wage of Impunity’, where the professor of English alluded that the former governor was a confirmed sponsor of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, an accusation earlier made by self-styled Australian terror negotiator, Stephen Davies.
In the letter, Soyinka had insinuated that Sheriff who is an accused sponsor of the dreaded sect, had fled to Chad to welcome President Jonathan during his visit to the Chadian president.
Not one to take such blatant statement lying low, Sheriff has fired back in an interview in the Punch Newspaper where he called Prof. Soyinka a renown cultist who has no moral right to say he, Sheriff, has a hand in funding the operations of the deadly sect.
