Etfash: The risk level of Tbills is less than 1%. Of course i know that is also a chance but in reality, except their is War in Nigeria.. And even after the war, the country will still get your money to you.
How do you start? I will suggest you go to any First Bank branch. Open an account with them if you don't already have, deposit the amount you would like to invest, apart from your minimum balance; request for the Tbills form, complete and submit. Then wait.
Note: 1) Any account type can be used for Tbills 2) I have suggested First bank because, they accept as low as N100,000.00 and they also bid for their clients.
Thanks so much sir!... And finally, how is the profit rate calculated ? And how much will be my return on an investment on 200k for 3yrs
Etfash: I will advise you opt for the Treasury bills or any paper investment NOT real estate.
Land is good like many have said, but trust me, it's not easy to keep land, of that value (N300,000.00), in an appreciable area for more than a year (if your course of study is 4, 5 or more years) without doing anything on it; you wouldn't want to start fighting over land at your tender age. Also, land is not easy to sell as many think; i am into Real estate and i sure know what i am saying.
If you go into Tbills or Money markets and choose income reinvestment option, you should be able to beat inflation. Your money can also be immediately available to you upon graduation for business.
I'm much grateful....but sir, I believe every business/investment has at least a risk....risk on land might be on the genuine ownership or hardship to to resell.....so what is/are the risk(s) behind this Tbill and how does one start? Thanks
kolokolobi: You are in school as you said. I don't know how much time you have to invest in business. Acquisition of assets is also part of your business plan. But always acquire what you can easily convert into cash when the need is there. Also acquire what appreciates with time as time in itself can wipe out value. In all I'm saying acquire the land. Save some more and think of the business when the savings can get it done.
holajeedayy: my brother i am not talking of dem say not trend talkk i am talking of experience even the starter of the trend venture in to agro related business ppl likke david8....so no b them say and am double sure u do not import so advise ppl base on experience not ebook or trend
Royal155: For me, I'll advice you to invest in treasury bills so you won't squander the money. Though the rate is very low now, but you just have to lock it down in treasury bills to avoid the temptation of spending the money. I was once in your shoe when I was in my final year in school. I invested in t.bills and later used the money to start a business after my service year.
Do the needful to avoid 'had I known'.
I haven't heard about treasury bill.....tell me about it
salisy: Buy land, keep it up as an assets (it always appreciates) then after graduation and Now Your Suffering Continuous (NYSC) lol, sell it and start a biz. Also try to save from ur NYSC alawee and other hustles.
I see u becoming a boss of ur sef in no distant time
I'm in my 3rd year in the University..and I'v been
able to accumulate 300 thousand Naira all through..
I'v always wanted to own a land, but come to think
of it, there is few or no employment out there.. If I
eventually acquire a land, what will become of me
after my Degree, and if I venture into a Business
while in school I might not be able to meet up
academically...
And if you ask me to wait till graduation, the money
will have found it way on something else even
before then!......

twosquare: For Amazon, yes. I don't know for eBay, you can ask around. PayPal stopped it this year (I mean connecting it to your Payoneer bank account). You can link your card to PayPal though, but not the b/account.
twosquare: To some extent, yes. Because it operates like a normal account... Just the only limitation is that you only use it to receive money but you can't deposit into it yourself unless you wanna transfer funds from various sites to it. Basically used in sending and receiving payments. Each account on Payoneer belongs to different US banks.
That's really nice!....thanks for taking your time out in replying!....anyway, can payoneer card be used for paypal verification and on online market store like ebay and amazon?.....thanks in advance
